Prejudice of Majority against Foreigners
Boštíková, Marie ; Bittnerová, Dana (advisor) ; Rendl, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with the prejudices of the Czech society against foreigners, namely against Ukrainians. The observed problem is viewed in terms of both the majority opinion and foreigners' experience. Prejudices of Czech society are reflected by Czech and Ukrainian university students or college students or postgraduate students studying in Prague. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part presents Ukrainians living in the Czech Republic. Although the history is mentioned, this part deals mainly with the current situation of migrants who have come to the Czech Republic after 1989. The area of law that affects foreigners is also briefly outlined here. However, the central theme is the issue of attitudes and prejudices. The empirical part describes the objective of the work, methods of data collection and analysis and the research sample, but the main task is to present qualitative research data that familiarize us with the view of Czechs and Ukrainians on the prejudices of the Czech society. Both perspectives are compared to find some potential similarities and differences. The obtained results are then briefly summarized and discussed with findings from scientific literature. Keywords: Ukrainians in the CR, prejudices, attitudes, migrants, integration

Balucha, Martin ; Křeček, Jan (advisor) ; Nečas, Vlastimil (referee)
The diploma thesis Media reflection of the discourse of nationalist parties about immigrants: comparative analysis of the Czech and French daily newspapers investigates the manner in which Czech and French media reflect the speech of the Czech political party Svoboda a přímá demokracie (SPD) and the French political party National Front (FN) about immigrants. The aim of the present study is to examine how much space the Czech and French daily newspapers provide to the anti-immigrant discourse of these two parties. We also look into the context in which the representatives of these political formations speak about migrants and consider the labels they use to describe them. The method used in this research is a quantitative content analysis. By its means we analysed the articles published throughout the years 2015 and 2016 in the Czech daily newspapers as well as in the French daily Le Figaro. The study focused mainly on those parts (quotations) of the articles, where the politicians or the representatives of SPD or FN speak about migrants. The results show that analysed Czech and French newspapers provide rather little space in their articles for the discourse of SPD and FN representatives about immigrants. The findings also indicate that both in the Czech and the French daily newspapers the migrants are...

Dorj, Tuvshinbat ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Avdulaj, Krenar (referee)
The thesis attempts to shed a light on a remittance corridor between Czech Republic and Mongolia, as to the author's knowledge there has been no studies looking to the very area. The thesis not only investigates the conditions of the market for remittances in the CR as a whole but also tries to capture the key determination of remittances and specific remitting behavior of the migrants, i.e., Mongolian migrants. Empirical study with both qualitative and quantitative research methods is carried based on the data collected by author himself while participating as an interviewer in a survey on market for remittances in the CR. The study reveals that although the market transparency and infrastructure is satisfactory, the level of competition is relatively low. As such, the main players on the market do not haste to attract their customers and research other service possibilities. But certain money transfer operators (MTO) for example "Chequepoint" a.s employs active marketing strategy and it already realized most favorable MTO among Mongolian migrants. Also the study highlights that the policies related to customer protection issues should consider on the financial literacy and language barrier of the migrants as well. Otherwise it is not possible to implement policies on customer protection issues....
Fast methods for analysis of migrants from food-contact materials
Vavrouš, Adam ; Čabala, Radomír (advisor) ; Jelínek, Ivan (referee) ; Bajerová, Petra (referee)
(AJ) Food contact materials pose a risk to human health due to a variety of contaminants which they can release into food. These compounds, migrants, include aromatic hydrocarbons, dialkyl phthalates, bisphenols, printing ink photoinitiators, and perfluoroalkyl compounds. The determination of all these substances can be expensive and time-consuming since universally applicable analytical approaches are not available nowadays. This work attempted to develop methods for the simultaneous determination of migrants from all of the mentioned groups in paper-based food contact materials and fatty food. A total of 68 contaminants were studied in paper products using liquid chromatography and gas chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry detection. All analytes were isolated simultaneously using the modified "QuEChERS" method. This method demonstrated acceptable recovery and repeatability for most analytes in the validation study; LOQs ranged from 1.3 to 220 µg/kg. Analysis of 132 real paper products confirmed the occurrence of almost all studied analytes, which were often present in complex mixtures and at concentrations up to 628 mg/kg. A total of 41 potential contaminants were monitored in fatty foods by liquid chromatography with tandem mass detection. Contamination of the mobile phase by...
