The Role of Video Games in Health Care and Medical Training
První část práce pojednává o vlivu her na vzdělávání studentů medicíny, lékařů i pacientů a zároveň jej kriticky analyzuje.
Analysis of antibiotic administration in laparoscopic appendectomies in pediatric patients.
Opatovská, Tamara ; Rejmanová, Anna (advisor) ; Malá, Kateřina (referee)
Analysis of prescribing antibiotics for laparoscopic appendectomies in a paediatric patient population Author: Tamara Opatovská Supervisor: PharmDr. Anna Rejmanová, Ph.D. Consultant: PharmDr. Petr Domecký Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Introduction and aims: Appendicitis is one of the most common acute diagnoses in paediatric population. Incorrect diagnosis, poorly performed antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) or treatment can lead to life-threatening complications such as perforation, peritonitis, periappendiceal infiltrate or abscess. The aim of this study was to analyse the administration of antibiotics (ATB) as a part of prophylaxis before appendectomy and as part of the therapy of complicated appendicitis in the paediatric population and to compare the obtained results. Specifically, 2 periods were compared - before and after the introduction of the recommended hospital procedure (RHP; 22. 06. 2017). The partial goal of the study was to identify factors that influenced the occurrence of complications and length of hospitalization in the monitored population. Methods: An unicentric retrospective study took place at the Clinic od paediatric surgery and traumatology at the University hospital Hradec Králové. Data were collected from...
Ectopic pregnancy and blood loss during its surgical treatment
Kolářová, Nikola ; Kužel, David (advisor) ; Hudeková, Lucia (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with ectopic pregnancy and blood loss during its surgical treatment. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a research part. The first part deals with the anatomy of the female genital tract, types of ectopic pregnancies and procedures for their treatment. The research part was conducted in the form of quantitative research. The data was drawn from the Medea system of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague in the time from 2016 to 2021. The aim of the research was to find out whether various criteria affect blood loss during the surgical treatment of ectopic pregnancies. Examples of the examined criteria include parity, miscarriage or abortion, age of patients and other critera, using descriptive statistical analysis of data calculated on the basis of arithmetic mean. Keywords: ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopy, blood loss, salpingotomy and salpingectomy, transvaginal ultrasonography
Assessment of the endometriosis in the pelvis.
Indrielle-Kelly, Tereza ; Fischerová, Daniela (advisor) ; Zikán, Michal (referee) ; Lambert, Lukáš (referee)
Introduction: The main goal of our work was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound examination and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the assessment of deep endometriosis in the pelvis. Our second aim was to establish a learning curve of a sonographer and a radiologists (non-experts). As an introduction to the subject we have published 3 reviews on the diagnosis and one narrative review on the classification systems in the evaluation of endometriosis has been submitted for publication. Methodology: Reviews were written as narrative reviews based on PubMed search and scientific societies recommendations. We have offered participation to all patients in the endometriosis centre with high suspicion of deep endometriosis, who then underwent examination by ultrasound and MRI by expert and non-expert before their surgical treatment, all findings described according to the consensus IDEA (international Deep Endometriosis Analysis group, 2016). Surgical and histological findings were used as a reference standard. Learning curve was defined as an improvement in accuracy in three blocks, into which the patients were assigned in the chronological order. Results of the scientific studies: From 07/2016 to 02/2018 the participation was offered to 111 patients, 51 underwent both imaging examinations...
Risks and limits of laparoscopy in the treatment of gynecological cancers
Charvát, Martin ; Robová, Helena (advisor) ; Kužel, David (referee) ; Mlynček, Miloš (referee)
The thesis evaluates the results of experimental protocol involving the fertility sparing treatment procedure in early stage cervical carcinoma (LAP I protocol). Sentinel lymph node detection and experimental extirpation of afferent channels using laparoscopy and its technical aspects were analysed in prospective group of 85 women. The oncologic results and early/late morbidity show that established surgical procedures can be considered safe with minimal morbidity, provided that the indication criteria are met. The second part analyses the results of 148 women with no further pregnancy plans suffering from cervical tumors less than 2 cm in size with invasion less than half of the stroma (LAP II protocol). The oncological results in our defined group are very good and comparable to 'standard' procedure of modified radical hysterectomy type B or C with lower morbidity. In the separate section the thesis analyses the possibilities of laparoscopy in endometrial cancer treatment including the potentials of use of sentinel lymph node detection and technical aspects of laparoscopy in obese women. Currently the biggest controversy is the use of laparoscopy in malignant ovarian tumors. Our oncogynaecological study group at FN Motol prefers the laparotomic approach and we chose to include the set of advanced...
