Economic scenarios in insurance
Krýcha, Daniel ; Branda, Martin (advisor) ; Hurt, Jan (referee)
In this thesis we will focus on interest rate modelling and related practical aspects. We will explain the significance of generated scenarios of interest rate's movement for economic results of both life and non-life insurance companies. We will analyse presently known ways of approaching this matter and describe the selected models in detail. Taking into consideration the practical focus of this thesis, we will address the applied methods of model's calibration. Furthermore, we will employ these methods in an extensive numerical study, that will aim to reveal the weaknesses and strengths of particular calibration methods while implementing a specific model and to evaluate their potential application in actuarial practice. Central model of this work is CIR (Cox-Ingersoll-Ross) model.

Moravec, Jaroslav ; Šikudová, Elena (advisor) ; Obdržálek, Štěpán (referee)
Title: Automatic On-Line Calibration and Calibration Monitoring of Cameras and Lidars Author: Jaroslav Moravec Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Elena Šikudová, Ph.D., Department of Software and Computer Science Education Abstract: Cameras and LiDARs are important devices in the automotive indus- try as their combination provides useful information (3D coordinates of a point, its colour and intensity) for perception, localization, mapping and prediction. Successful data fusion and interpretation requires accurate calibration of intrin- sic parameters of the sensors and their 6D relative pose. In this thesis, we present a target-less calibration method on three different calibration tasks. The solu- tion is based on a robust likelihood function constructed over the reprojection error of LiDAR edges relative to image edges. When the calibration slowly wears off, our online recalibration procedure can jointly follow the extrinsic calibration drift with an average error of 0.13◦ in rotation and 4 cm in translation. Based on this recalibration tool, we are also able to monitor the calibration and detect an abrupt decalibration in a couple of seconds. And we also present a fully automatic calibration routine that estimates both the extrinsic and intrinsic...
Processing of two-step γ cascade data from 151Eu(n,γ)152Eu reaction
Schusser, Jakub ; Krtička, Milan (advisor) ; Cejnar, Pavel (referee)
1 Photon strength functions in terms of statistical approach to a nuclear decay describe the probability distribution of photon emission by given nucleus. They can be studied using two step gamma cascades. The two step gamma cascade method was firstly introduced in fifties of the 20th century. Our aim is to study two step gamma cascades following thermal neutron capture in 151 Eu. The experiment was performed at the Nuclear Physics Institute ASCR in Řež near Prague. The acquired emission spectra of photons from thermal neutron capture will be processed by energetic and efficiency calibration and after further processing will be compared to the output of theoretical models.
Study of plasma in tokamak-type devices with spectroscopic methods
Naydenkova, Diana ; Stöckel, Jan (advisor) ; Plašil, Radek (referee) ; Svoboda, Vojtěch (referee)
In Tokamak department of Institute of Plasma Physics, radiation of high-temperature plasma is investigated using spectroscopic methods in visible, ultraviolet and infrared regions. The radiation gives information regarding tokamak plasma parameters and their changes, which is necessary for future realization of fusion reactor. In the frame of this doctoral thesis the development of spectroscopic diagnostics for observing of plasma radiation and its temporal evolution in COMPASS tokamak was performed. The absolute calibration of developed systems in order to recalculate measured signal to units of radiation was done. The sources of imprecisions of absolute measurements in tokamak conditions are properly discussed in the first part of the dissertation. Plasma radiation in the range 257-1083 nm was measured and interpreted using NIST database and FLYCHK code. Ion density for the most significant impurities was estimated. IDL code for effective ion charge estimation as a ratio of real and hydrogen plasma Bremsstrahlung radiation near 523 nm was developed. Profiles of electron density and temperature measured by Thomson scattering system were used for hydrogen plasma Bremsstrahlung radiation calculations. The example of applying of spectroscopic data for studying of COMPASS plasma heating using neutral beam...
Comparison of speed measurement by hydrometric propeller and laser anemometer
Kosík, Ondřej ; Haluza,, Miloslav (referee) ; Zubík, Pavel (advisor)
This final thesis deals primarily with the comparison of two calibration approaches. It determines the degree of mutual agreement and tries to answer the reasons of their deviations. This agreement was measured by the LDA method. It was found that the calibration approach based on the reference framework of values of the previous bachelor thesis differs systematically from the calibration using calibration equations obtained from certified laboratories by -2 %. The causes of this deviation were investigated using LDA and PIV. Although a significant number of measurements were performed, all tested hypotheses were refuted and therefore it was not possible to determine their cause.
Analysis of the influence of the calibration and strip adjustment on the geometric accuracy of UAV LIDAR point clouds
Dvořák, Dennis ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Dušánek, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis solves the analysis of the influence of calibration and the method of strips alignment on the geometric accuracy of a point cloud acquired by UAV lidar scanning. The aim was to find out the influence of individual used methods, respectively various combinations. The effect of the design of the cross-flights has also been added. The evaluation was performed using standard deviations of the distances corresponding to the areas scanned in different point bands. Furthermore, verification was performed by comparing checkpoints. The results show that there is no dependence between the individual combinations. The only case was a larger displacement of the point cloud at the edge of the scanned strip in the case of cross-flights.
Measurement and evaluation of flows in sewer networks
Haška, Aleš ; Prax,, Petr (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
Measuring flow rate, water surface and rainfall are the crucial inputs for the calibration of the hydraulic model. This bachelor’s thesis presents mathematical models and measuring devices for the sewer networks. This thesis summarises the measuring devices that are currently available and used on the sewer network. Furthermore, theory of random and systematic errors is discussed. In the second section, this theory is implemented in the chosen area for the sewer network in Znojmo. On the 9. 9. 2020, three ultrasonic measuring devices (type ISCO 2150 with AV sensor) and one device for measuring water surface (type IJINUS) were installed in this area. This thesis provides continuous measurements which are then applied for the calibration of the hydraulic model. On completion of this thesis it is necessary to continue to calibrate and verify the model in order to increase accuracy and be more precise.
