The goal of the master’s thesis is to return the landscape to the people in the sense of rediscovering wealth in our close neighborhood in connection to the relationship between people and the landscape. The work and theoretical background is used in my place of residence, which is the cadastral area of Lešná, which includes 7 municipalities (Lešná, Jasenice, Lhotka nad Bečvou, Mštěnovice, Perná, Příluky and Vysoká). The basis for the work became a personal relationship to the location and physical research in the form of walking the area in a straight line, along paths and finding connections in the landscape. By simply changing my movement, I was able to perceive my own intense experience, which I rely on in my designs. In the area, I have selected 8 places with a unique character, to which I apply the proposed buildings. Each of these unique places has a name in history, but few people know it today. The Effect of Social Class on Marriage in the Works of Jane Austen
HOSPODÁŘSKÁ, Martina
This diploma thesis focuses on the differences between social classes in Regency England at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and the extent to which these social inequalities affect the formation of marriage in the six completed novels of the author Jane Austen. As this period was also marked by the disadvantaged position of women in society and in marriage, the thesis also includes an analysis of these issues and the distinctions in rights and responsibilities between male and female characters. The overall aim of the thesis is to highlight the conditions under which the characters in Jane Austen's novels decide to enter into marriage, what role the differences in social status play for them when choosing a partner, and whether they take into account their feelings or rather economic and social reasons when doing so.

Chandigarh planned and unplanned city
Urbášková, Hana
Chandigarh is one of the few planned cities of the twentieth century that combines monumental architecture, cultural growth and modernization. It is located in northern India at the foot of the Shivalika Mountains. It is the capital of the two union states of Haryana and Punjab, on whose borders it lies, and a union territory of the Republic of India administered by the central government in New Delhi. The concept for the new capital was conceived by the then Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who in 1949 commissioned the American architect Albert Mayer to design India's modern city. His concept of a garden city was reworked by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. Néhru's wish was to create a "city of tomorrow" that would provide a quality of life for its inhabitants. The present Chandigarh is a city of dilemmas in planned and unplanned aspects and conflicts. This paper addresses the questions: how does one live in Chandigarh, which was planned as an ideal CIAM city with the basic principles of urban planning as put forward by the Athens Charter? Has the urban plan enabled its inhabitants to live a "dream life, " as envisioned by the architect, or are the city's inhabitants trying to resume their accustomed lifestyle despite the plan? Has life in the city changed since the Chandigarh Capitol complex was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016?

Changing in Place Identity of Two Working-Class Neighbourhoods in Kladno since the mid-20th Century: Podprůhon & Nové Kladno
Čermák, Adam ; Chromý, Pavel (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
The thesis focuses on the place identity of two working-class neighbourhoods in Kladno since the mid-20th century. It describes the historical development of all neighbourhoods in Kladno, but it analyses Podprůhon and Nové Kladno as prototypical examples. Although the two are close to each other, they have developed differently: Nové Kladno was transformed into a housing estate; Pod- průhon was left to its natural, gradual development. An essential part is a qualitative and quantita- tive research. It studies the people's relationship to both localities, the first impression of them, and whether the conclusions differ according to the respondents' ages. It exploits interviews with resi- dents and questionnaire survey with non-residents. The results are put in context with plans and artistic works, allowing for a detailed description of the identity of both localities. Nové Kladno has lost its identity due to its transformation and has not yet built a new one, while Podprůhon has re- tained its identity despite becoming an excluded locality in the 1980s. As there are many neigh- bourhoods with similar developments in Czechia since the mid-20th century, the interpretations from this thesis can be generalised as case studies of the industrial heritage transformations not only in Kladno.
