Russia-Belarus Unification. Chosen Problems and perspectives of Union State (1999-2008)
Osipova, Kristina ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (advisor) ; Svoboda, Karel (referee)
Russo-Belarus Unification. Chosen Problems and perspectives of Union State (1999-2008). The main subject of the diploma thesis is cooperation between Russia and Belarus within the Union State of Russia and Belarus, which was established in 1999. After the break up of the USSR, cooperation between the newly independent states was largely defined by their membership in CIS. However, during the first five years an integration core emerged, consisting of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. These states were mainly cooperating in economic sphere, which finally emerged into international organization (Eurasian Economic Community). Belarus is one of the former Soviet republics, which kept and is still keeping very close relations with Russian Federation. Their bilateral integration begins after the breakup of USSR and culminates in 1999, when treaty of establishing Union State of Russia and Belarus is signed. During the almost 10 year period between 1999 and 2008, however, the cooperation did not move forward as was originally planned. In my opinion, the main topics which delay effective Russo-Belarus integration are as follows: prices for energetic commodities (oil and gas) for Belarus; implementation of common currency - Russian ruble; and ratification of Constitutional Act of Union State....
Changes of the town of Ceska Kamenice beetwen the years 1945-1951
Müllerová, Vanda ; Václavů, Lubor (advisor) ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (referee)
As it results from the title, the work is focused on the historical evolution of Ceska Kamenice in the period of years from 1945 to 1951. May 1945 seems to be the turning point of the further development of Ceska Kamenice. The German inhabitants, who had represented the majority population so far, were at once qualified as political unreliable and in light of important changes that were expected, discriminating regulations started to be carried out against them. In the meantime the Czech from various parts of the Republic began to come there. Some of them beholded their arrival just as an oportunity to feather their nests, but of course there were those too, who decided to stay and settle down in the town. They gained the national stewardship and started their new lives. However, some of the new settlers had to leave the town again because the stewardship was not always taken over by people who were the most competent and qualified. Assigning to this office as well as being resigned from, often became the demonstration of potencial power. The first months in Ceska Kamenice were accompanied by injustice and tyrany. Units of troops and guerrilla forces that settled in the town tyrannized both, Czech and German inhabitants and the endeavour to stop it was suppressed. These events were only revealed in 1947...
Michal Polak, utraquist martyr of the jagiellon era
Podzimková, Dina ; Čornej, Petr (advisor) ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (referee)
1) Michal Polák can be considered an utraquist martyr. His exceptional position is based on how he is depicted in Slana's narrative and on the respect paid to him by the utraquist community on a regular basis. This reverence concentrates in songs created during the time from his death to the end of the XVI. century. The respect is also shown in the aforementioned narrative of Václav Slana, in the more detailed notes in some of the later editions of Staré letopisy české and in the sermon Sermo de martyribus Bohemis. It's text puts Michal even side by side with Jan Hus and Jeroným Pražský. Thanks to his special position the originally polish preacher got a specific place in the utraquist congregation and his legacy remained influential even after his death. This can be proved by the Prague events of 1483 whose representatives took Michal as a moral patronage of their doings. As there can be found a corroboration of respect to Michal Polák even in the congregation of jednota bratrská, I suppose we can say, that Michal played a role of a kind of unifying element of all reform christian movements in the Czech crown lands. As such he could (in person and by the circumstances of his death) participate on the convergency of the Rome-opposing religous scene in Bohemia, that culminated in the adoption of the...
Sacral monuments of the microregion Točník-Bzová-Březová-Hředle
Vokáčová, Petra ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (advisor) ; Havlůjová, Hana (referee)
9. Resume The main target of my work was to map the history of the small sacral monuments (crosses, chapels, statues of saints) in the micro region of Tocnik- Bzova - Brezova - Hredle in area of Horovice. Firstly I tried to describe this region. I used some examples which would prove that inhabitants of these villages had a lot in common. They had a close relationship, they met each other daily at ordinary affairs or at special times as well. The inhabitants had similar destinies, responsibilities and pas times. The topic was extended to the history of bigger sacral objects in Zebrak and Veliz. I wanted to introduce more themes which were connected with the main topic. Therefore I presented the history of St. Lauren's church and St. Roch's chapel in Zebrak, where the main parish administration was established. The second interesting place - St. John Baptist's church in Veliz was connected with the village Brezova. But the influence of this place was deeper and covered a very wide area. In the theoretic part of my work I tried to explain what the phrase - small sacral monument means. I described types of these objects and their history. One important thing is also the contemporary statement of these objects and the access for the public. That is the reason why I introduced the groups of volunteers who take...

Furthermore, it deals with roots and origins of these controversies and examines consequences of problematic units on the security and political situation in Ukraine. Ukraine Constitutional reform in 2004 and Its Impact on the Development of the Country
Poloncarzová, Diana ; Šír, Jan (advisor) ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (referee)
The thesis deal with the constitutional reform in Ukraine approved in 2004 There were optimistic expectations about the regime change and moving closer to the model of West European states in 2004. The scope is to identify whether Ukraine followed the path of democratic transition or remained as an unstable hybrid state. It is focused on constitutional changes of the following chapters - elections and referendum, parliament, president, council of ministers and redistribution of power between these roles and impact on legislation and executive power. The regime type is influenced by these changes. Ukraine was classified as an authoritarian regime during Kuchma's second term in the Presidential office. The political system had been changed in 2006 when the new constitution came to power. Between a various classifications the most common ones, which had been used, were a semi- presidential system or presidential-parliamentary system. The choice of improper political system could be one of the key reasons leading to the failure of democratisation of the country when attempted.
The position of the Serbian Orthodox Church to the regime of Slobodan Miloševic: The ideal of symfony between church and state versus reality.
Hofmeisterová, Karin ; Králová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Zilynskyj, Bohdan (referee)
The presented work deals with the topic of the relationship between the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) and the regime of Slobodan Milosevic in the years 1987 - 2000, which is a topic that has scarcely been elaborated upon in academic circles. It specifically deals with the concept of symphony as an Orthodox ideal of the arrangement of relationship between the Church and the state in the SOC policy towards the Serbian political leadership of that time. The thesis illuminates the origins and the essence of this concept and defines the adjustments which it went through in the Serbian milieu. In comparison to the original concept of symphonic interaction between the Church and the power of the state, the author establishes the core alteration as the addition of a national aspect and the creation of an organizational triad of nation, Church and state, which became a characteristic feature of the Serbian Orthodox theology. Based upon the analysis of SOC discourse, the treatise then refreshes the proposition that the symphony of Church and state, taking into account specific attributes, forms a key framework that has influenced and to this day to a certain extent still influences the SOC policy and its approach to a particular political power and regime.
