On the Use of Articles in German, English and Czech

The thesis deals with the use of articles in German, English and Czech. In the theoretical part the characteristics of German and English article, its varieties and historical development is introduced, and one chapter is dedicated to the existence of potential article in Czech. Further the usage of the articles in German and English is described, primarily with the abstracta. In the practical part ten selected abstracta will be analysed. For the analyses the cases in which there are different articles will be crucial. The occurrence and function of Czech demonstrative and indefinite pronouns that evince certain similarities of an article will be also examined.
Success in life seen by an employee of social work

The subject of the graduation thesis is a success in life seen through the eyes of a social field worker. The theoretical part explains terms such as value and motivation. It brings information obtained from the literature about the values of the contemporary Czech society and contemplates about its development. It also includes a short presentation of the individual results of the specific student works. It tries to use the words to describe success, success in life, to summarize the factors influencing the success in life. Last but not least, it brings closer the social work and the specific facilities of the social services, in which the research occurred. The practical part describes and analyzes opinions, ideas, observations of four employees of a low-threshold social services facility helping people without a shelter, in relation to the success in life. It tries to describe their idea of a success in life, which is seen in connection with a diligence, own initiative, commitment, knowledge and honest work. It brings a perspective of their prevailing life values, motivation and quests for the relationships with the choice of their occupation. Truth commissions: Truth commissions' mandates and its significance in the truth seeking process

Truth commissions are official nonjudicial bodies of investigation created to address grave violations of human rights committed under the previous repressive regime or during the past armed conflict. Commissions are created to establish an authoritative record of past violations, to discover its causes and to make reccommendations in order to prevent its reccurence in the future. The thesis focuses on commission's mandates,legal documents that determine its goals, functions, powers and scope of inquiry. The aim of the thesis is to assess the significance of the mandate in the truth-seeking process and to determine if a broad mandate is well suited to achieve goals of the commission or if a narrow mandate is more expedient. The thesis assesses and compares mandates of truth commissions established in Argentina (1983), South Africa (1995), Guatemala (1997) and Kenya (2009).

On the Use of the Conjunctions bis, bevor and ehe in the present German language and their translation into Czech

This thesis deals with the use of conjunctions bis, bevor and ehe in the present German language. The characterization of them in grammar books and selected textbooks is compared, special attention is given to the difference between anteriority and posteriority and the synonymity between conjunctions bevor and ehe. There are also concerned the problems of translation of these conjunctions into Czech. One part is dedicated to the searching of sentences which are related with the future and in which occur conjunctions bis, bevor and ehe in the sense of anteriority. The role and the effectiveness of the U.S. visa system with a concentration on the threat of terrorism and illegal immigration

This bachelor thesis deals with the visa system of the United States of America. The aim of this thesis is to assess the security feature of contemporary visa system and his effectiveness in the struggle against terrorism and illegal immigration. The theoretical part of the thesis defines basic security concepts. It describes contemporary security system of the U.S. and sets the visa system into it. The practical part deals with the role of the visa system in 11/9 terrorist attacks and compare it to the current situation. It also analyses the role of visas in the struggle against illegal immigration with a concentration on the problem of overstays.
System of foster care in the Czech republic. Foster care advisory.

The thesis considers problems with foster care in The Czech republic. The theoretical part of my work outlines the questions of family environment, its importance, pathology of family, psychical deprivation, sub deprivation of children living out of their own families. It also adumbrates general overview of foster care system and its history, process of mediation of substitutional family care, forms of foster allowances and method of functioning of foster care families. Operative part of the thesis contains research through the medium questionnaires. Target group consist of fosterers living in administrative unit of The Municipal Office in Prachatice; the office with extended authority. The inquiry was made to find out their awareness of their rights and appealed claims, their satisfaction with current foster care system as well as what experiences the fosterers have with the attending their applications and what services or experts are missed by them in the region. This form of foster family care is very demanding. Appreciation belongs to all who wants to give abandoned children their helping hands and opened hearts. They are guided by love and endeavour to help.
