The relation between the early mother-child contact after birth and the subjective perception of their relationship
Kolumpková, Michaela ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Takács, Lea (referee)
This work observes the relation between mother-child early contact immediately after birth and emotional tune of mothers in relation to their child. The theoretical part deals with the situation of labor, further development after birth, with an emphasis on very early contact and ways to establish the relationship between a mother and a child. In the end of the theoretical part, the quality of the relationship between a mother and a child and the interactions between them is described. The empirical part examines if the early contact immediately after birth or a general contact between mothers and babies in the hospital, influence emotional tune of a mother to her child. The research was based on interviews with mothers who were describing their child. It was assumed that the emotional tune of mothers is associated with the choice of adjectives describing their child or the whole situation. However, research does not show a significant relation of early contact and emotional tune of a mother to her child. Based on the research results, the conclusion is that the immediate early contact after birth does not have a significant effect on the quality of the relationship between a mother and her child.

Žipajová, Věra ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Takács, Lea (referee)
This thesis focuses on mapping and evaluation of psychosocial climate by expectant mothers in the "Česko-německá horská nemocnice s.r.o.". It is a theoretical and empirical project. The theoretical part provides knowledge about psychological changes, which the woman goes through during her pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. The further space is devoted to the needs of the expectant mother, the stress in the perinatal period and woman's psychopathology in the mentioned periods. Socio-cultural links in the perinatal period are also discussed. The vital importance lies in describing psychosocial aspects in the perinatal care as well as communication with the woman in the perinatal period. The research part of the thesis is aimed at the analysis of psychosocial climate in the maternity hospital in Vrchlabí. A questionnaire of psychosocial climate of the KLI-P maternity hospital was used for the research. 51 mothers participated in the evaluation plus extra 10 to complete the qualitative questionnaire. The analysis is enriched by two midwives' point of view of the approach to delivering mothers in the Vrchlabí maternity hospital. The results of the KLI-P maternity hospital were statistically compared using the hypothesis testing method. Evaluating the outcomes of the questionnaire, it may be stated...
The effects of prenatal stress on child development
Škrdová, Barbora ; Takács, Lea (advisor) ; Pešout, Ondřej (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the effects of prenatal stress on the psychological development of a child in preschool age. The theoretical part describes the types of stress in pregnancy, their prevalence, and the possibilities of screening and preventions or the way of reduction. It also concentrates on the effects of prenatal stress on child development, including factors that moderate and mediate this effect. The empirical part focuses on the effects of prenatal stress on cognitive, psychomotor, and socio-emotional development in children at the age of five, and whether the effect of prenatal stress on child development is mediated by maternal stress in the period after birth. The sample includes 218 mothers whose children were examined using the Intelligence and Development Scale (IDS) at the age of five. Pre- and postnatal stress was measured using The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) in the third trimester, and then at 9 months and 3, 4 and 5 years after delivery. The results of path analyses did not show a significant effect of pre- and postnatal stress on children's development in the mentioned areas. Prenatal stress was a significant predictor of postnatal stress. The included covariates showed a positive effect of the mother's education on verbal cognitive and socioemotional development....

Selected Perinatal Risk Factors for Postpartum Depression
Tenglerová, Hana ; Takács, Lea (advisor) ; Hrdličková, Kristýna (referee)
This thesis focuses on postpartum depression (PPD) and related risk factors. The aim of the theoretical part was to provide an overview of these factors, with an emphasis on risk factors occurring in the perinatal period. The aim of the empirical part was to determine whether PPD symptoms may be related to the psychosocial climate of the maternity hospital, and which specific aspects of this climate are crucial for the development of PPD symptoms. Data from the prospective longitudinal study The Mother and Child Vysočina Cohort Study were used for this analysis. The study sample included 755 women. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was used to measure symptoms of PPD, and women assessed the psychosocial climate of the maternity hospital using the Czech questionnaire KLI-P (Psychosocial Climate of Maternity Hospital Questionnaire). Generalised linear regression was used to analyse risk factors for PPD. The results showed that poorer ratings of psychosocial climate in the maternity hospital were associated with higher levels of depressive symptoms at six weeks and nine months postpartum. An analysis focusing on individual aspects of psychosocial climate showed that the level of depressive symptoms was mainly related to the attitude of the health workers, the information given, and the...
Attachment of mothers and their emotional regulation in communication with children
Klempířová, Kateřina ; Gillernová, Ilona (advisor) ; Takács, Lea (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out whether there is a connection between the ways of emotional regulation that mothers use in communication with their children and their attachment. The literature review section defines the basic concepts for this work, which are attachment, emotional regulation and their connectivity and the interaction of the mother with her child. In the research participated 288 respondents. The research is quantitative. The results and methods of data processing are described in the empirical part. The ECR-R16 Close Relationship Experience Questionnaire and the ERQ Emotional Regulation Questionnaire were mainly used for data collection. The question of mapping the frequency of experiencing emotions was inspired by part of the questionnaire by Zaouche-Gaudron et al. The findings show that statistically significant results were found for disorganized attachment. The connection has been shown in disorganized attachment and suppression as a way of regulating emotions. It has also been shown that this attachment style differs in the frequency of pride and sadness compared to other attachment styles. The results of the research open up the possibility of further research, especially in the area of disorganized attachment, for which statistically significant results have...

The aim of the theoretical part is to introduce the reader to the socio-emotional development of the child, as well as to some of the disorders related to this area. The literary section includes a description of screening and diagnostic methods focused on the socio-emotional area and the description of the BITSEA questionnaire. The research part focuses on the translation of the questionnaire and its pilot validation on the Czech population. The main goal of the work is to ascertain what is the internal consistency of the scales and whether the Czech translation of the questionnaire can distinguish between children with suspected difficulties and children with presumed normal development.
Nonpharmacological interventions for stress reduction during pregnancy and their effects on maternal bonding
Němcová, Hana ; Takács, Lea (advisor) ; Míková, Gabriela (referee)
The bachelor thesis addresses the relationship between stress in pregnancy, nonpharmacological interventions, which are possible to use for its reduction, and maternal bonding after birth. In the first chapter, the literature review describes particular types of stress, which can occur during pregnancy, mechanisms via which stress affects foetus, and impacts on both mother and child. The second chapter summarizes principles and effectivity of particular interventions for stress reduction during pregnancy, e.g. various forms of psychotherapy, yoga or mindfulness-based interventions. In the third chapter, the paper describes maternal bonding, its differentiation from the concept of attachment and its correlates. The fourth chapter concerns present scientific findings about the relationship of all these phenomena. In the empirical section, a research project draft is presented, aim of which is to discover the impact of Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting in pregnancy on the maternal bonding quality with a possible mediation of lowered level of perceived stress or reduce depressive symptomatology.
Parental burnout and validation of the Czech version of the Parental Burnout Assessment
Kročková, Nikola ; Urban, Kamila (advisor) ; Takács, Lea (referee)
Parental burnout is a new psychological concept. The theoretical part of the thesis describes an overview of research on parental burnout, including its prevalence, symptoms, mechanisms and factors of development, distinction of related concepts, consequences, and diagnostic options. The aim of the study carried out as a part of this thesis was validation of the Czech version of the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBACZ). The research sample consisted of 285 parents. The confirmatory factor analysis indicated poor fit of the theoretical four factor structure of original questionnaire (exhaustion, contrast, feelings of being fed up, emotional distancing) to the data. The reliability of PBACZ was excellent (α= .97). The PBACZ did not corelated with job burnout however it showed strong correlation with stress, anxiety, depression, and it predicted the level of the parental rejection. We can assume that the overall PBACZ scale gives a valid information about the level of parental burnout. Nevertheless, it cannot be evaluated on the level of the single subscales. The detected prevalence of parental burnout in Czech parents' sample was 12,6 %. Mothers, parents on maternity or paternity leave, mothers who perceive that they are taking more care for the child compared to their partners and parents who spend...
