Poverty, Population, and Energetical Progress in European Union
Novák, Ivan ; Rečka, Lukáš (advisor) ; Janda, Karel (referee)
Energy poverty is closely connected to the current energy transformation focused on the utilization of renewable sources of energy. The thesis aims to evaluate whether European Union countries are prepared to tackle energy poverty effectively in the context of the ongoing transformation, which could impose an additional burden on vulnerable consumers. The thesis presents hierarchical clustering to group countries by common characteristics and assesses the countries' National Energy and Climate Plans (NECP) within the clusters. The study concludes that National Energy and Climate Plans are poorly specified for most European Union Member States. Only fifteen countries address energy poverty effectively, and only nine countries have appropriate measures and tools to tackle energy poverty, evaluating 2019 NECPs and 2023 NECP drafts if available. Next, the thesis describes a nonlinear relationship between energy poverty and both the total share of renewables on final consumption and the energy efficiency index of households - linked to investments for deploying renewable energy sources. Finally, an exploratory Agent-based model is presented. Tereza Morávková Psychická podpora a komunikace s rodinou novorozence na ARO/JIP Psychological support and communication with family on newborn resuscitation, ICU DIPLOMOVÁ PRÁCE Vedoucí diplomové práce: PhDr. Alena Mellanová, CSc. Praha ABSTRACT This diploma thesis is theoretical and empirical, and focuses on emotional support and communication with parents of a newborn in a resuscitation department or ICU. It analyzes the approach that the medical staff has towards these parents, specifically psychological support in the form of sufficient and adequate communication. The theoretical section begins with the classification of newborns. Next the reasons for intensive and neonatal care for very premature babies are discussed. The following chapter contains an analysis of the psychological changes that the parents of a newborn in a resuscitation department or ICU may experience. This chapter describes the general characteristics of fear and anxiety. The next section describes the reasons, possible manifestations and consequences of this fear and anxiety experienced by the families. The next chapter sets out the principles of communication with a family in a...
Classification of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 9V penicillin-resistant and other antibiotics by phenotypic and genotypic methods
Žemličková, Helena ; Urbášková, Pavla (advisor) ; Marešová, Vilma (referee) ; Novák, Ivan (referee)
The aim of this work was phenotypic (serotyping, antibiotic profile) and genotypic (PFGE and MLST methods) characterization of penicillin non-susceptible strains of pneumococci serotype 9V, 14 and 19F isolated in the CR in the period 2000 - 2002. Genotypic analysis allowed the identification of common clonal relationship within the same and different serotypes of pneumococci and also provided data that allowed comparison of populations of resistant pneumococci in an international context.
Search console as a mean of communication exemplified on deep mediatisation
Novák, Ivan ; Klimeš, David (advisor) ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (referee)
The thesis analyses the communication process of search engines in the advertiser - customer relation. The thesis holistically proceeds to the communication analysis of search engine, first describing new media, mediatization, functioning of search engine, advertisement systems and behavior of the search engine users. The thesis describes new media as dual artifacts with a tangible and intangible part, which are constantly adaptable to society's requirements thanks to its nature - they can be easily changed and improved. This makes the new media - in the field of media science - really new. The term "mediatization" represents the ability of media to change the society's behavior. The new media makes the deep mediatization happen, i. e. distinct habitualization of changes in society caused by the new media. In the thesis, the changes are illustrated by the examples of change of mindset, communication and purchase process. The users adjust the way they communicate in the search engines for their query to be successfully decoded by both an algorithm and a provider of the searched information. Therefore the thesis focuses on specifics of users' habits during the searching process. Furthermore, the thesis expands on the position of advertisers and their option of approaching the search engine user...
Knowledge of nurses about posibilities of using moist wound healing in neonatology.
Konečná, Veronika ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Novák, Ivan (referee)
This thesis deals with nursing care of skin defects using a wet therapy in neonatology. The first section summarizes information related to preterm infants, the development of the individual layers of the skin in the embryonic period. It lists the types of skin defects which the neonatolgy nurse may frequently encounter at the department with including a list of modern therapeutic coverage that can be used. It lists a brief history of wound healing too, focusing just on the development of the wet therapy . Furthermore is marginally discussed the evaluation and documentation of damage to the skin wound. For interest, the thesis mentions a case reportof the preterm newborn with the necrosis of the lower limb, accompanied by commentaries of the alternative treatment for this type of skin damage from my own experience. The second part is assessing the awareness of the nurses in the modern methods of the healing. The priority is the mapping of the experience in using the wet therapy through the quantitative research, which is mediated by an anonymous questionnaire. The main goal of the research is to determine the awareness of the nurses from the neonatology intensive care unit, resuscitation and intermediate care in the nursing of the skin defects using a wet therapy. For this purpose the chosen method...
Awareness of pediatric patients and their parents before anesthesia
Caletka, Petr ; Marková, Eva (advisor) ; Novák, Ivan (referee)
The primary aim of the thesis was to describe current awareness system of pediatric patients and their parents before anaesthesia and whether and to what extent the two groups are informed about anaesthesia. Furthermore, the thesis presents actual opinions of both responding groups on the current state of clinical practice and suggestions for its improvement. In accordance with available sources, so far no similar research has been carried out in the Czech Republic. A total number of 215 respondents at two biggest teaching hospitals in the Czech Republic have been addressed (Teaching Hospital Motol, Prague and Teaching Hospital Brno), the survey was finished by 131 people (60.93 %). Consequently, the questionnaire output was statistacally processed. The findings demonstrate a need of an improved anaesthesia awareness of pediatric patients and parents before the surgery. Obviously, both parents and children require printed information materials, although parents still tend to prefer rather the oral form - the anaesthesia interview. Bronská, Eva ; Marešová, Vilma (advisor) ; Rožnovský, Luděk (referee) ; Žemličková, Helena (referee) ; Novák, Ivan (referee)
lntroduction: lnvasive meningococcal disease continues to be a life-threatening condition. Rapid diagnosis is important for the administration of appropriate treatment. Our study focuses on evaluation of importance of PCR method for diagnosis of meningococcal disease. We describe in detail the dynamics of PCR method and its relationship to other diagnostic methods (LA, culture) and to the course of the disease. We also evaluated the influence of previously appl ied antibiotics therapy to results ofthese diagnostic methods. Methods: We have investigated cerebrospinal fluid and serum samples collected during the 1 sl week of hospitalization from patients hospitalized at the department of infectious diseases with laboratory confirmed invasi ve meningococcal disease. Bacterial DNA was isolated from biological material by Qiagen kit and one-step and seminested PCR method was used. PCR products were detected on the 2% gel electrophoresis. In parallel, we performed culture and LA methods. Results: The PCR positivity in cerebrospinal fluid and serum achieved 92 % and 46 %, respectively, LA positivity in cerebrospinal fluid, serum and urine achieved 47 %, 42 % and 24 %, respectively. Culture of CSF and blood was positive only in 35 % and 39 %, respectively. The latest PCR positivity was detected at Day 7 in...
