Exterior flying service robot
Macek, Jakub ; Kárník, Ladislav (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the design of the hexacopter construction for photographic purposes with maximum load of 4 kg. When constructing a hexacopter it is necessary to take into account a number of factors. For the actual construction the correct dimensioning of the supporting frame is important as well as the locomotor system. The main concept of this thesis includes three-axis gimbal for camera control. The verification of the structure strength was performed using FEM analysis. This work describes also the selection of individual components and their wiring. The end is dedicated to safety and different procedures for reducing operation risks.

Truth, untruth and lies in Czech media discourse: Fact-checking methods applied on the website Demagog.cz during the 2018 presidential campaign
Poulová, Kristýna ; Kaderka, Petr (advisor) ; Macek, Jakub (referee) ; Svobodová, Jindřiška (referee)
The focus of this dissertation is on the description of the fact-checking process and methods as implemented on the Demagog.cz portal during the 2018 presidential campaign. Its objective is to evaluate the limits, benefits and specific forms of fact-checking within the context of the Czech Republic because the portal is the only Czech project exclusively focused on this activity. The research used the methods of ethnomethodologically informed ethnography that allows to study fact-checking in the environment where it is commonly done and to base the research findings on interpretations made by the portal members themselves. Video recordings of the coordinator's computer screen taken during the described activity were also used as research data. In order to clarify those parts of the process that could not be directly observed, the potential of metapragmatic awareness was harnessed by posing additional questions to the coordinator, studying his comments on individual statements and recordings of the communications among project experts that took place in the portal's administrative system. The fact-checking procedure was demonstrated with examples of both published and unpublished statements. Research has shown that the limits of the fact-checking activities on Demagog.cz reflect the limits of...
Normalized social distance
Šlerka, Josef ; Souček, Jiří (advisor) ; Petříček, Miroslav (referee) ; Macek, Jakub (referee)
This dissertation thesis deals with the application of the concept of information distance to the social network data analysis. We consider this data as recorded acts of social action. As such, they express certain attitudes, values and intentions. We introduce a formula for calculating the Normalized Social Distance and, based on the series of case studies, we prove the usefulness and validity of this approach. The application of formal mathematical and computer science techniques to massive data records of human action in social network environments is enabled by the change brought by new media and the associated technological advancement. This change is accompanied by a gradual transition of research methods in the humanities, referred to as the onset of digital humanities. This approach is characterized by the application of quantitative methods in the field of humanities and the discovery of new data areas useful for analyses. In case of social media data, the differentiation between quantitative and qualitative methods is no longer valid. A good example is also this thesis, in which information theory specifically combines the methods of a traditional social network analysis and the Goffman's frame analysis of human action. Keywords Information distance, Normalized Social Distance, Kolmogorov...
Empirical research on the representation of historical information in the medium of computer games, their user reception, and intrapersonal learning outcomes
Kolek, Lukáš ; Šisler, Vít (advisor) ; Macek, Jakub (referee) ; Slussareff, Michaela (referee)
This dissertation investigates whether video games are able to affect players' attitudes and information behaviour towards depicted historical topics in games over the short- and long-term. We collected data from a sample of 148 young adults. As far as we know, there is currently no study of such a scale focused on historical games. We used, as an intervention tool, a modification of the serious game Czechoslovakia 38-89: Borderlands that deals with the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans from the former Czechoslovakia after WWII. The game is based on historical research providing players with multiple perspectives on the depicted topics. Our control group played a similar game, but where the narrative was unrelated to any depicted historical event from Czechoslovakia 38-89: Borderlands. In the empirical part of the study, we measured explicit and implicit attitude change and information behaviour change towards the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans. Results showed more negative pretest-posttest explicit attitude changes towards the expulsion on a general level (d = -0.34; p = .022) and a specific level (d = -0.53; p = .001) in the experimental group compared to the control group. Over the long-term, group differences in attitude change remained significant for the specific level (d = -0.44; p = .014),...
