Corporate social responsibility: strategic advantage and relationship with financial performance Case study from the Czech republic

The corporate social responsibility is a voluntary concept of firm's embrace of responsibility for the impact of its activities on the environment and society. The corporate social responsibility is the brand and guarantee that firm runs its activities not only within the law and ethical standards, but goes far beyond the law and moral values. Firm demonstrates its social responsibility through engagement in social issues, substitute for the state in support of underprivileged or disadvantaged groups, but also develop activities which have positive impacts on the environment, advocate and meet ethical business principles, take care of their employees, to distance themselves of corruption and bribery, etc. This thesis deals with the objective introduction of corporate social responsibility concept from its origin to contemporary approaches. The thesis introduces related theories which contributed to corporate social responsibility as well. In addition, this thesis familiarizes with the open question of relationship between corporate social responsibility (performance) and firm's financial performance and presents the important empirical research in this area. My diploma work concerns about the description of a regional journal Průboj, that was published in Northern Bohemia for 70 years. I focused on late sixties and tried to describe a personal constitution of editor's office including economical aspects of publishing. I also made a particular content analysis covering the time period from April 1968 till August 1969. Especially in the time of the "Prague Spring" Průboj maintained social reforms and their political representatives. That is why it was very popular with public. Průboj reporters commented on political situation in the Czechoslovakia practically without any censorship. Analysis of the marketing activities in nonprofit organization INEX-SDA

The aim of this thesis is to analyze marketing activities of nonprofit organization INEX-SDA and make recommendations relating to the marketing mix which would increase awareness of this foundation and also increase voluntary help from the public. The thesis is divided into two parts. First part deals with theoretical definition of marketing and its specifics related to the nonprofit sector. The theoretical part is followed by a practical part in which organization INEX-SDA and the individual elements of the marketing mix are specified. In this part there was also done marketing research. With the analysis of marketing activities information is obtained which together with the theoretical knowledge leads to recommendations relating to the marketing activities of this non-profit organization. The thesis ends with an overall summary.

Market analysis of SCRM tools supply

This diploma thesis deals with market analysis of Social Customer Relationship Manage-ment tools in companies, introduction to this issue and explanation of the terms that are related to the Social Customer Relationship Management. The aim of this work is to introduce the reader with the general issues of CRM with emphasis on SCRM, to explain how can the SCRM tools be used in companies, to perform a survey on awareness of SCRM in companies and especially to analyze the market of these tools and to determine the suitable products for a midsized company according to established criteria. The document is divided into a theoretical part, which focuses on the concepts of CRM and SCRM, explains their differences and clarifies the social element. The practical part of the work is divided into a survey designed to determine the awareness of Czech companies about CRM and SCRM, and whether they use the social media in business. The last part is the market analysis of tools which evaluates them according to the established criteria for midsized businesses. Evaluated tools were selected according to the Social CRM Magic Quadrant by the Gartner company.

Digital Archiving of Technical Drawings

Bachelor thesis deals with the archiving of documents focusing on the technical drawings in the company Mondi Štětí a.s. as well as the description of what the technical drawings are and what other types of documents can be encountered in the company. The aim of this work is to capture how have technical drawings been archived in Mondi Štětí a.s. and the evaluation of the use of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 compared with the original way of archiving these documents in paper form. The document is divided into five parts. The first part briefly describes the characteristics of the company Mondi Štětí a.s., its object of activity and types of documents with which the company operates daily. The next section describes Microsoft SharePoint 2010, which the company is currently implementing and justification of selecting precisely this software. The next chapter describes the process of document digitalization and the way of use in the company. Furthermore there is an analysis of using Microsoft SharePoint 2010 compared with manual archiving method including an evaluation survey, which I presented to employees of the company, stating that the use of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 is more effective that the manual archiving methods. In addition, by analysation of the old system of archiving comparing with the new method company acquires an idea of whether it is advantageous to use this system to other types of documents that are currently held only in paper form.

Influence of taxes on true and fair view of the accounting

The aim of this thesis is to draw the attention to the problems in the book-keeping which are influenced by the current tax legislation and which could lead to distortion of the financial statements and therefore also to violation of the concept of true and fair view in the accounting. In this dissertation thesis following accounting transactions are emphasized: allowances for doubtful receivables, depreciation, provisions and deferred tax. These operations are often missed out or distorted in the accounting as their impact on the tax base is neutral.

It should show how our country works from the beginning of its membership and what effects did the new legislation for international trade of the Czech Republic and Czech bussinessmen. I also wanted to point out the programmes, which the European Union is supporting the growth of bussiness sector with.

Theses in the theoretical part discusses generally the appropriate methods and practices of storing of material. It deals with the question, what are the benefits of warehousing, and what are classic and modern methods of storing. In the practical part it describes the warehousing of concrete company and outlined the possibility of improving the services in the field of logistics.
