Teachers in the labyrint of rules - case study
Hrbek, Martin ; Bittnerová, Dana (advisor) ; Levínská, Markéta (referee)
Case study, which finds sources of inspiration in Educational Ethnography, inquires into the relation teacher-school and into observing or breaking formal and informal rules in environment of formal organization. The group which is the study about is a team of teachers at one secundary school. The problem is regarded from several points of view: knowledge about sociology of formal organization and bureaucracy, knowledge about social rules and Foucault's concept of disciplinary space. The process of data gathering used participant observation, autoethnography and interviews with 14 informants. The interviews were analysed using open coding. The aim was to find out how the formal rules of organization are or are not observed, how the formal rules are transformed into informal rules and what is the character of other informal rules. From this, level of informants' identification with formal organization can be discovered. The study shows those processes in spheres of teachers' job evaluation, school's order maintaining and rules of communication among teachers. Some of the formal rules are observed some are not. Some of those rules are transformed into informal rules which are observed. Displacement of goals takes places in malfunction of some of the formal rules. Some of other formal rules are...
Supernatural level of thinking
Kubová, Blanka ; Doubek, David (referee) ; Levínská, Markéta (advisor)
The bachelor thesis named "Supernatural level of thinking" comes out mainly from the qualitative research, which was executed on this theme. So, it deals with the approach of sepurnature by students who had participated in this research. This thesis is composed of three main chapters. Of theoretical chapter, of methodological chapter, finally of practical chapter. In the theoretical there are explaned concepts generated from the research explained. These concepts are afterwards used in the practical chapter, so they are important to be understood by a reader. These are concepts as the magic, the religion and the supernatural esence. In the methodological chapter there is a short discourse about a qualitative research, about a research sample and mainly about methods, which were used for the research. As the main method I present an interview there, I mention also the other merhods which were used, method of observation and questionnaire method. Finally, the practical chapter comes out mainly from interviews, that were executed with the students. In this part I cite their opinions and experience that they have with the supernature. These citations are going hand in hand with general analysis of gained information. I assume that this thesis could among others help to better awareness of this question, also...
Clothes as a means of communication in the children's collective
Bartošová, Markéta ; Bittnerová, Dana (referee) ; Levínská, Markéta (advisor)
The bachelor thesis Clothes as a means of communication in the children's collective focuses on non-verbal communication mediated through clothes worn by students of the third year of a private grammar school in Prague. Theoretical section of the thesis works with the findings of social psychology about non-verbal communication and clothes as one of the means of non-verbal communication, about presentation of the self, the first impression and assessment of others, as phenomena which penetrate social contact and our judgement of others. The theoretical section also discusses conventions within small groups, as these are where the students' communication takes place. Practical section is comprised of an analyses of data collected in a research conducted during observations of and interviews with the students. The themes researched include characters of the students expressed through clothes, what and who influences the choice of clothes they wear, what can be expressed by clothes, importance they assign to look and whether gender stereotypes have any influence on their clothing. I believe that look is a neglected topic of non-verbal communication. Clothes can be used to express our inner self, our personality, but at the same time, clothes also provide shelter, a disguise we can put on to play a certain...
Communication between teachers and pupils in elementary school in gender perspective
Foreign pupils at Czech school from their own view and from the view of their classmates.
Flousková, Klára ; Levínská, Markéta (referee) ; Bittnerová, Dana (advisor)
This paper is focused on a quite frequent topic of these days - the situation of foreign pupils at Czech basic schools from their own view and from the view of their classmates. How do the foreign pupils accommodate in the class? Do they have any difficulties with their different background? What does it mean for the Czech children when they are part of the multicultural class? What is important for them to integrate foreign pupils in their class? I looked at this topic from a holistic view, but I worked only with a small group of pupils - with a class. It enabled me to look at those relations more precisely. The class attended 20 children at the age of 13 to 15. Its society was very diverse. There were five pupils who declared themselves as foreigners and some other children have foreign relatives. Moreover, there are two mentally handicapped boys integrated in the class. I interviewed the whole class, let them write an essay and used a sociomctric questionnaire to get the data about topics meant above. What were the results? The class community is very sociable and tolerant to its members. Some handicap or different ethnic origin docs not cause any serious difficulties. The foreign pupils are satisfied in that class and in a whole school as well. The school institution and its positive climate enable...
