NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner
Gorejová, Andrea ; Františák, Luboš (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
My aim was to build on the street buildings and the horizontal line adjacent materials . On the corner there is a breach of negative corner that serves as an entrance to the building . It also serves as a public space with the possibility of a summer garden cafe and the space in the theatre . The space between buildings incurred to complete the perforated screen. Perforation ensures sufficient intimacy of interior space, but also allows contact with the public space . The screen also brings a staircase whose arms linking the two spaces . The idea is to divide buildings into more fuel, which would protect the inner space formed from the noise outward and through the neighborhood . Increasing the inner atrium of one floor is created intimate garden space with a water feature . Following the arch are the expression of individual floors with residential units made available galleries located on the inner sides . This element would revitalize the internal space as possible meeting place . The house provides recovery through the streets multifunctional parter . In the street adjacent to the old dance studio is located a cafe . Both are open to the street space through the glazing. Cafe uses of public space , created a negative corner , for use in the summer. In the street adjacent to Bratislava are located commercial space for rent . Spaces are partially shielded front wall expanded metal , which, however, can be summed up to one side. The material located on Street Stará has a regular grid of windows underlined storing facing bricks. Layout and structure reveal the residential use of the building . The material is placed on the street Bratislavská is the southern facade covered with a screen of expanded metal. Předstěn completely closes and hides the layout of the residential area , but it zceluje with part of the pit , which is functionally pulled up to 2.NP
Completion of the city block - Křížová street
Wintner, Roman ; Kaštánková, Jana (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
As part of my bachelor thesis, I deal with design of an urban and conceptual solution for part of city quarter Staré Brno, specifically with the gap between Křížová Street and the newly designed complex Kras. In the design, I take into account the modification of the traffic situation, which was influenced by the second awarded proposal in the idea competition Mendlovo náměstí (2018). An equal part of the project is creation of an architectural study for two student houses and adjacent related institutions within the solved area. I decided for the design of student space because of current insufficient capacities, equipments of university dormitories and trend in rising rental prices of flats in Brno. In my work I come up with a closer analysis of the area, proposing a conceptual solution, where I also pay attention to the existing historical listed house. I deal with its future within the complex on idealogical level. The concept of the complex is partly based on the historical appearance of Křížová Street. I deal in detail with the concept of two student objects, which have their own character, but at the same time they try to come together and form one functional unit. It is important to fit into the character of the street and the overall atmosphere of the Staré Brno quarter (in the case of the building on Křížová Street) but in the current design without losing own identity. Equally important is the playful design of student accommodation, where I take into account the benefits of collective accommodation and the life at student’s dormitories. I try to make a contemporary, creative, non-limiting object, providing space for the individualities, which students definitely are.

The project is dealing with a parking area on the border of historical centre and a motorway with block of houses in Valašské Meziříčí. The aim is a new usage of the plot but with keeping the number of parking places. The designed object works as a barrier between motorway and historical centre, where the pedestrians are preferred. The direct connection to the estate housing is provided by a pedestrian roan on the east side of the area. The new street with residential character is designed. The building has a three floors of parking with capacity of 149 parking places, the entrance is accessible by turning lane and between floors by an external ramp. One of these floors is under the level of terrain. The other two then reflect the construction heigth of the commercial space. The facade of the shops makes a visual border of the street. The shops and the parking make the platform where blocks of flats and roof gardens are situated. The communication cores for these flats goes through the whole building and is placed in between every two of houses. It leads the people to the semiprivate zone where the entrances of the flats and situated. The mass and the materials tried to not interrupt the character of the town. Aspects of sustainable development are included, mainly the social aspect of living.
