A summary research report focusing on cumulative effects of social disadvantage on health and quality of life
Hamplová, Dana ; Klusáček, Jan ; Adámková, Věra ; Kudrnáčová, Michaela ; Sládek, Martin ; Sumová, Alena ; Topinková, Renáta
The report assesses the impact of socio-economic conditions on quality of life and health. It draws on both a sociological perspective and sociological indicators (i.e. subjective health, subjective quality of life) and a multidisciplinary perspective and biomedical indicators (i.e. biomarkers). The report documents in detail the differences in health by education and marital status, taking into account the work situation. Significant attention is paid to risk behaviours and sleep patterns.
Surgical treatment of mortal complications of acute myocardial infarction as basis of secondary ischemic heart disease prevention
Kačer, Petr ; Adámková, Věra (advisor) ; Táborský, Miloš (referee) ; Velemínský, Miloš (referee)
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) represents the leading cause of death in the Czech Republic. The principles of the secondary prevention of CVD are well-known, precisely elaborated and highly effective. Myocardial infarction may be accompanied with mechanical complications. One of the later is a post-infarction rupture of the free wall of the left ventricle (FWR) resulting in high mortality rates during hospitalization (60-90%) and surgery (11.8-61%). Due to the rarity of the diagnosis, the surgical treatment and its secondary preventive effect on the patients' life have not been described sufficiently. The aim of the work presented was to describe and evaluate the methods of surgical treatment of FWR as a basis of prevention of secondary FWR by means of analyzing a set of FWR patients (comprising two groups as per the actual FWR form) concentrated on the patients' performance evaluated by the ejection fraction (EF) of the left ventricle (LV) and self-sufficiency, and suggesting an optimum FWR treatment strategy emphasizing the function preservation of LV - the tertiary prevention of the rupture of the free wall of the LV. The study comprises a set of 19 patients, i.e. 11 (57.9 %) males and 8 (42.1 %) females, who underwent surgery in the IKEM Heart Center between 01. 01. 2006 and 31. 12. 2012. The RLK...

CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE FACULTY OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT ADIPOSE TISSUE DISTRIBUTION BY PRESCHOOL CHILDREN- COMAPARATIVE STUDY ABSTRACT Head of the dissertation: Author: Prof. MUDr. Ivan Dylevský, DrSc. Mgr. Dominika Petrů Prague, 2014 Abstract The dissertation provides information about the distribution of subcutaneous adipose tissue in preschool-aged /5-6 years, n=141/ and younger school-aged children /8- 9 years, n=137/ in the Ústí region. In this review, we describe and evaluate the child's body with anthropometric parameters, skinfold, bioelectrical impedance analysis and selected sample /n=31/ with ultrasonography. We found an increased distribution of adipose tissue in older file with a concentration in the abdominal area and a higher reliability of skinfold than the BIA, considering the ultrasound examination. Key words: subcutaneous fat, skinfold, bioelectrical impedance analysis, ultrasonography
Treatment of acute myocardial infarction in the era of percutaneous coronary intervention
Knot, Jiří ; Widimský, Petr (advisor) ; Adámková, Věra (referee) ; Červinka, Pavel (referee)
Univerzita Karlova v Praze 3. lékařská fakulta Treatment of acute myocardial infarction in the era of percutaneous coronary intervention MUDr. Jiří Knot 2014 When treating patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), a very important prognostic factor is a time from the occurrence of myocardial ischemia until achievement of reperfusion. The shortest delays are being achieved in countries with well-functioning health care network. Another very important factor is the form of used reperfusion therapy. Between individual European countries there is a significant difference in using of reperfusion strategy in the treatment of AMI. In countries where the primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a dominant reperfusion strategy, there is significantly higher total number of reperfused patients with AMI. In addition, a reduction in mortality related with primary PCI is in real practice higher than the randomized clinical trials report. The aim of this work was to map the health care system for patients with AMI in five European countries and work out guidance for optimal cooperation of all segment of the health system that are involved in this care and thereby reduce individual delays. Urgent coronary catheterization or possibly PCI is commonly provided to patients with AMI with ST segments...

UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FAKULTA TĚLESNÉ VÝCHOVY A SPORTU The effect of physical activity and nutrition interventions on physical fitness and quality of life during the first year after kidney transplantation Abstract of disertation Zpracovala: Mgr. Klára Švagrová Školitel: Prof. Ing. Václav Bunc, CSc. Školící pracoviště: Laboratoř sportovní motoriky Praha, 2012 ABSTRACT Kidney transplantation is the best known treatment of chronic kidney failure. However, it is often accompanied by a number of health complications. The transplantation itself positively affects both physical fitness and quality of life during the first year after the transplant surgery which are seriously diminished when compared to the healthy population. This improvement can be even enhanced by appropriate physical activity and nutrition interventions otherwise both the physical fitness and quality of life would start declining after the first post-transplant year again. The aim of this study was to confirm a positive effect of a long-term physical activity and nutrition interventions on health-related physical fitness and health-related quality of life in a representative sample of individuals in the first year after the kidney transplantation. At the same time it was fundamental to verify that the experimental trial can be...
The analysis of physiological and social risks of COVID-19 disease
Hamplová, Dana ; Klusáček, Jan ; Adámková, Věra
The report brings results of the survey exploring the level of collective immunity against the virus SARS-CoV-2. The survey took place in May 2020. The study demonstrated a low prevalence of antibodies against the virus. Besides collecting blood samples, test subjects were asked to fill in a questionnaire about the willingness to follow the epidemiological recommendations. The survey demonstrated that individuals belonging to the risk groups (in terms of chronic diseases) do not use more protective measure than people without any risk comorbidity. The protective behavior was linked mainly to age and sex. The willingness to follow the recommendations was also significantly influenced by the type of media that the respondent uses as a source of information (those drawing information from internet showed significantly lower willingness to follow the recommendations).
Incidence rate of external genital lesions (EGL) caused by human papillomavirus infection in Czech population
Petráš, Marek ; Adámková, Věra (advisor) ; Janout, Vladimír (referee) ; Göpfertová, Dana (referee)
Incidence of external genital lesions (EGL) caused by human papillomaviruses in the Czech population Marek Petráš Abstract Genital warts (condyloma acuminate) caused up to 90% cases by two human papillomaviruses of type 6 and 11 are not life-threatening diseases but can cause not only clinical symptoms (burning, itching, bleeding, and pain) but also psychosocial stress, embarrassment, and anxiety making for impaired quality of life. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence and incidence rate of genital warts using questionnaire survey in the Czech population and to assess the risk predictors of genital warts. Between January 2013 and March 2014 valid data were collected from 33,700 attendees at 268 outpatient clinics in all 14 regions of the Czech Republic. The questionnaire enquired on several lifestyle factors, including residence, education, smoking, number of lifetime sexual partners, and HPV immunization status, as well as date of birth and gender. Information on genital warts was obtained with the question, ''Have you ever had genital warts?''. Study participants were also asked for the year of their first outbreak of genital warts and of recurrent episodes if any occurred, the treatments received, and the genital warts status of their sexual partner. The questionnaire...
