Vyhledávací stroj pro matematiku
Mišutka, Jozef
Title: Mathematical search engine Author: Jozef Mišutka Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Leo Galamboš, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: leo.galambos@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The WWW is dominated by search engines such as Google. They are inseparable part of everyday search for information. Theoretical research field interested in searching, the information retrieval, focuses mainly on the natural language constructs - words. During the last years the field has been extended to other searchable content as well. The world of mathematical knowledge on the WWW has grown enormously. The importance of a general mathematical search engine is clear. However, this research field had been abandoned until very recently. Despite the fact that an active ongoing research is in progress, few practical results have been presented. The main goal of this thesis is to fill this gap. A new mathematical search engine was proposed with the focus on applicability. As the only capable search engine of indexing WWW effectively is the full text search engine it was used as the basis. The mathematical extension was designed as an extension which allows it to exploit and use all the advantages of the full text search engine. Most of the mathematical documents do not contain semantic information. The...

The adoption of euro in Slovakia
Strmenský, Tomáš ; Adámková, Vlasta (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyses the adoption of euro in Slovakia. It describes creation and progress of European monetary union in the second half of the 20th century, the Werner plan, the Delores plan, laying down Maastricht criteria in the Treaty of Maastricht in the first chapter. It analyses Slovakia's preparation and entering in EU in the second chapter, in the third chapter it handles with observance of the Maastricht criteria, that are neccessary for entering the European monetary union, namely between passage of a Strategic plan of adopting euro, National plan of adopting euro and Convergence report of European central bank. I want to review tha advantages and disadvantages of adopting euro, that are for example clear away transaction costs, simply business within the eurozone or better access of capital. Disadvantage is rise of inflation. Slovakia is going to adopt euro on 1st january 2008.

Luminaires and Applications with Power LEDs
Vaňko, Adam ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
Progress in development of modern LEDs, their long lifetime and high luminous efficacy predetermine them for usage in lighting systems. This master's thesis examines possibilities of application of LEDs in luminaires, parameters of diodes and problems, which can appear in construction of luminaire with LED lighting source. In the practical part of this thesis a luminaire is designed, capable of illuminating traffic signs, vertical surfaces, billboards and fasades. By standards required parameters of a lighting system and adaptability of application must be considered in complex predesign. Simulations of lighting scene, created in special computer software, measurements of optical point’s parameters and construction of real luminaire model using high quality CREE LEDs, are included in analysis of the problem. Parameters of the luminaire were proved by measurements of product’s attributes at light laboratory. There are also some suggestions for improvement and further development of the product.

Building a 3D Printer
Škop, Martin ; Klepárník, Petr (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to analyse available options for 3D printing using FDM technology according to requests of cooperating company, to propose several drafts of electronical and software parts of 3D printers. This also includes their connection, functionality testing and implementation of one chosen draft. The core of this Bachelor thesis was to document the progress in building the 3D printer and also to solve arisen problems. The result of this Bachelor thesis is practical realisation of electronic part of 3D printer including basical tests. Secondary benefit of this Bachelor thesis is to explain the issue of 3D printing with the option of building custom 3D printer from PiBot components.

The aim of the thesis is design and implementation of web system for results evaluation and tracking of sports events based on GPS data. GPS data acquisition is possible by mobile application for Android operating system or by import TCX files. User interface allows realtime competitors tracikng or replay of competition progress. The part of application is automatic generating of intermediate and overall standings of athletes. System is implemented in PHP scripting language, user interface was developed in HTML, CSS, javascript libraries jQuery, Bootstrap and OpenLayers for work with maps.

Coffee Trading on Commodity Markets
Kašička, Jan ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Fičura, Milan (referee)
This thesis offers a comprehensive view of coffee trading on commodity markets. To describe the behavior of prices and their volatility, ARCH and GARCH models are used. These models analyse coffee prices of selected regions in Ethiopia, the birth place of coffee. The thesis connects the characteristics of soft commodity with current knowledge of financial econometrics. It also describes the effects of changes in exchange rates and oil prices on the price of coffee. Price volatility is examined with regard to deregulation and reforms on this market within the last three decades. Developments in the developing world caused a significant need for the progression and identification with the hedging instruments. These are closely linked to the globalized market with coffee, so it is conversely possible to absorb the shocks on small growers, who are significantly impacted by the globalized world.

The Conception of constitutional referendum in selected countries of the European Union
Radicsová, Alena ; Kuba, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Lechner, Tomáš (referee)
The main topic of my dissertation is a referendum as an instrument of direct democracy. Czech Republic is one of the latest country to have joined the European Union, whose constitutional system does not have modification of a nationwide referendum. The aim of this work was to evaluate the approach and the content of government's draft of the constitutional law for the nationwide referendum presented as a Parliamentary Document No. 559, in comparison with its regulation in selected European countries. The author establishes several basic criteria which are mainly concluded through analysis and comparison. The results indicate we cannot expect any significant step forward in terms of civil participation and qualitative democratic progress in proposals describe above.

Internal audit and its importance in the company
Vašíčková, Kristýna ; Vokáčová, Lucie (advisor) ; Kala, Václav (referee)
The aim of this work is to evaluate the usefulness of internal audit in a specific organization, which is focused on information and communication technologies. The first part of the document describes theoretical background obtained by comparation literature and Internet sources analyzing. There is also described the history of the internal audit, its importance and development, the progress of the internal audit, the final report, the types of internal audits and the difference between internal and external audit.. The second section contains conclusion of practical activities based on specific company. In the beginning, there is description of internal audit and control department, which was observed over a certain time interval. It was being studied what types of internal audits are performed in the company, how the audits are carried out, findings and deficiencies identified during internal audits and cooperation among internal and external auditors. and comparison between practice and theory. The conclusion is compared with the theory and practice of the evaluation of the situation and the internal audit function in the company. It is assessed that the internal audit in this particular company has its justified place. Their contributions are mainly in saved costs and detect errors in working practices. They were recommended only two possible improvements for a better functioning of the department. The management was advised to set up an audit committee, for greater independence of the internal audit. The second recommendation resulted from the interviews with the auditors regarding their education, where there is great potential for improving a company should consider investing in this area.
