Summary: International Terrorism and Human Rights Key words: international terrorism, antiterrorist measures, human rights First part of the thesis is centered on characteristics of international terrorism, concept of human rights and three aspects of their mutual relationship: the immediate impact of terrorist attacks on human rights of their direct victims and the society as a whole and aspects linked to the states' response consisting of human rights breaches of suspects during repressive measures and curtailing the rights and freedoms of us all during preventive measures. Many states have tighten their current antiterrorist measures, introduced new ones and strengthened the powers of military and law enforcement at the expense of internationally guaranteed human rights and fundamental freedoms, argumenting with the need of neccessary trade-off between personal rights and freedoms and national security. Nevertheless, there are flexible institutes imbedded into international law that allow for realization of represive and preventive measures whithout compromising the guaranteed human rights. Cílem projektu je detailně vyhodnotit genetickou proměnlivost populací Gentiana verna v ČR ve vztahu k možným zdrojovým populacím a migračním cestám, kontrolovat genotypy kultivované ex situ. Zhodnotit genetickou proměnlivost izolovaných středoevropských populací Jurinea cyanoides, srovnat ji se situací v oblasti kontinuálního areálu, objasnit klíčová stadia reprodukce druhu a popsat mezidruhové interakce ovlivňující vitalitu populací (zvláště opylování a predaci plodů) a vyhodnocením stanovištních podmínek zvýšit pravděpodobnost úspěšné repatriace druhu na původních a náhradních lokalitách.

Financování církví a náboženských společností: diskuse modelu financování pro Českou republiku

Diplomová práce se na pozadí vztahu mezi státem a církvemi věnuje problematice financování církví a náboženských společností v České republice. Teoretická část pojednává o historii vztahu státu a církve i typologii jejich soužití a představuje silné a slabé stránky šesti základních modelů financování. V analytické části jsou osvětleny majetkoprávní vztahy státu a církví v běhu českých dějin a v souvislosti s tím jsou uvedeny současné zdroje financování církví a náboženských společností v ČR a pro srovnání také ve čtyřech evropských zemích. Závěrečná část shrnuje dosažené výstupy a nabízí možná východiska pro optimální formování budoucího způsobu financování českých církví a náboženských společností.

Disertace popisuje interakci rozšiřování NATO s bezpečnostním prostředím Evropy 90. let. Propojuje teorii mezinárodních vztahů s teoretickými a praktickými zkušenostmi a argumenty, zejména kritikou, k rozšiřování. Potvrzuje tezi, že rozšiřování je přínosný, ba nenahraditelný proces pro Evropu i Západ. Rozšiřování zase uspělo, protože odpovědělo na problémy a potřeby Evropy. Mladší evropské demokracie rozšířením NATO získaly i NATO posílily. V zájmu jejich, Evropy i celého Západu je ocenit, studovat a rozvíjet přínos rozšiřování a jeho interakce s Evropou, podporovat silné NATO, vztahy Evropy s USA i posilování vztahů evropských zemí s USA přímějšími formami, aktuálně hlavně vybudováním americké základny v ČR.

Difference of income and expenditure of social security in the regions of the Czech Republic

Social security is in the Czech Republic the main instrument of social policy. It serves to improve the social situation of the population. It works as a support socially disadvantaged individuals in the form of social benefits. On the other hand, the state introduced a social insurance system, which consists of health and pension insurance and the contribution to the state employment policy, which are collectively referred to as social security premiums. The social insurance system is partly used for financing state social benefits. This work is based on analysis of social security, social benefits analysis, subsequent comparison and finding out a relationship or dependency between these systems. Systems are closely connected, one could not exist without the other.

United States and Israel: A Special Relationship? US Foreign Policy towards Israel, 1956-73

The B.A. thesis "United States and Israel: A Special Relationship?, U.S. Foreign Policy Towards Israel in 1956-73" analyses the development of U.S.-Israeli relationship on the background of the regional development in the Middle East in 1956-73. The thesis focuses mainly on the American-Israeli military cooperation, more particularly on the American arms supply to Israel. It analyses the emergence, development and the intensity of the special relationship between Washington and Jerusalem through the key events of the Arab-Israeli conflict, such as the Suez Crisis, the Six Day War and the Jomkippur War, and other regional crisis in the Middle East. The relationship had a crucial significance for the United States. It helped to stabilize the region, to prevent further soviet influence in this area and thus protect American geostrategic interests.

Právní úprava smluvních a mimosmluvních závazkových právních vztahů v právu Evropských společenství

Diplomová práce z oboru mezinárodního práva soukromého pojednává o současné kolizněprávní úpravě smluvních a mimosmluvních závazkových právních vztahů v právu Evropských společenství, a konkrétně o Římské úmluvě o právu rozhodném pro smluvní závazkové vztahy, o návrhu na její modernizaci a transformaci na komunitární nařízení (?Řím I?) a o návrhu nařízení o právu použitelném na mimosmluvní závazky (?Řím II?). Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje obecným otázkám mezinárodního práva soukromého a jeho postavení v právu ES a v právu ČR a jejich vzájemnému poměru. Druhá kapitola rozebírá jednotlivé instituty v Římské úmluvě a porovnává je s připravovanými změnami a s tuzemskou úpravou. Třetí kapitola se zabývá připravovanou úpravou mimosmluvních závazkových vztahů v právu ES. Celá práce dochází k závěrům o dopadu jednotlivých ustanovení na českou právní úpravu.

Media (self)presentation of selected representatives of the CPC between years 1967 - 1969

The name of this thesis is Media (Self) presentation of selected representatives of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPC) between the years 1967 and 1969. The crisis in the political system, which happened between the years 1967 and 1969 in Czechoslovakia, changed the social role of the media. The media became an active element of democratic plurality for a short time. The relationship between political authorities and the media changed too. The CPC power monopoly in the sphere of media was disturbed. During the period after the military invasion of to Czechoslovakia (August 1968) by the Soviet Union the media and journalist returned to the old ways of operating. This work tries to answer to few essential questions: Are there some differences among media self presentation of the leaders of the CPC? Were Czechoslovakian politicians prepared to cooperate with a truly independent and strong media? Were they able to use the media to really have a dialogue with the public? Statistické podchycení přímých zahraničních investic v globalizující se ekonomice

Prvním z cílů práce je popsat metodologii statistického zachycování přímých zahraničních investic. Z tohoto důvodu je úvodní část práce věnována definicím jednotlivých typů investic a subjektům, které do investičního vztahu vstupují. Také jsou zde uvedena mezinárodní doporučení v oblasti zachycování a vykazování přímých zahraničních investic. Druhá část práce se zabývá mezinárodní srovnatelností dat a problematikou jejich sběru. Konkrétně jsou zde uvedeny problémy s dostupností údajů a jejich zdrojů. Tato část je ukončena výčtem ukazatelů, které se v oblasti zahraničních investic používají. Závěrná část práce je věnována reálným číslům, které se týkají přímých zahraničních investic. Zvláštní pozornost je upřena na vývoj objemu těchto investic plynoucích do České republiky v posledních deseti letech, zejména pak s ohledem na jejich strukturu podle odvětví hospodářství a zemí investorů. Práce si klade za cíl s pomocí statistického aparátu na evropských státech ukázat, zda existuje souvislost mezi ekonomickou vyspělostí jednotlivých zemí a objemem jejich přijatých přímých zahraničních investic.

Energy expenditure in Zumba

The main objective of this study was to assess the energy demand of Zumba. The energy demand was determined by the indirect calorimetry. Four middle-ages women experienced in zumba participated in the study. A walking test untill the individual maximal exhaustion was performed on a treadmill to determine the relationship between heart rate, pulmonary ventilation and oxygen consumption. The energy expenditure of zumba was undertaken during 3 lessons, which took place at intervals of 3-5 days. We found an average oxygen consumption of 25,73 ± 0,95 ml.min-1 .kg-1 , which corresponded to the energy expenditure of 0,55 ± 0,03 kJ.min-1 .kg-1 . Therefore, we consider Zumba as the activity with high energy demand.
