Institutional equilibrium in redistribution systems
Wawrosz, Petr ; Kadeřábková, Božena (advisor) ; Chytil, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hlaváček, Jiří (referee)
The topic of this thesis is institutional equilibrium, its formation and disruption in human systems. The thesis analyses what is common to the most human systems and concludes that it is some kind of redistribution. That is reason for the thesis title "Institutional equilibrium in redistribution systems". As the term institutional equilibrium comes from institutional economics, the thesis begins with characteristic institutional economy and its differences form mainstream economy, defines the term institution and methodological institutionalism and explains the reasons of institution evolution. Then, the problematic of redistribution is analyzed. The thesis brings a general model of a redistribution system and describes a coalition forming in it. The thesis concludes that such a process must be facilitated and regulated by institutions and that institutions define the negotiation strength of the players and stabilize their position. In a fourth chapter, the term of institutional equilibrium is defined and its preconditions and consequences are described. Factors preventing the redistribution system from reaching the equilibrium are shown. The analysis of institutional equilibrium formation follows; the open and closed systems are addressed separately, with the emphasis being put on open systems. In open systems, the creative destruction process in ever-present, disrupting the institutional equilibrium. Therefore, a question is posed: may there be such a structure of institutions which will stay unchanged despite the ongoing exogenous changes? Or, more precisely, the change of which will not be in the interest of the players? The thesis finds that the preconditions for institutions system facilitating the institutional equilibrium are investments into skills of the players and the open access into the system. The thesis also shows that such preconditions help to reduce undesirable redistribution. The fifth chapter analyses parallel redistribution games as one of the specific way of disturbing institutional equilibrium. The parallel redistribution games have secret character; their players do not want the other players to know about their game, because their game breaches the norms of the majority of players. The parallel redistribution games may be characterized as a form of opportunistic behavior. The thesis investigates the causes of these games, the reasons why they remain uncovered and the strategies of their players. Eventually, the conditions under which the parallel games may be reduced are formulated. The institutions must fulfill these conditions as well. In the end, the institutions structure capable of introducing the redistribution system into the institutional equilibrium state is defined.

Adaptive controllers with principles of artificial intelligence
Pitra, Michal ; Malounek, Petr (referee) ; Pivoňka, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on an adaptive control, especially in a self-tuning controller area. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with identification methods of the adaptive control. The recursive least squares algorithm and the neural network method are the most popular identification methods. These methods are contrasted and the identification quality evaluation is done. The second part compares various types of the adaptive controllers with a non-adjustable PSD controller. The adaptive controllers are investigated from the various identification method point of view. The user graphic interface was realized for the identification and regulatory part. The time behavior of system responses after incoming disturbance and dynamic process changes during simulation systems control is compared with a physical model connected to B&R PLC. The comparison is done with the application of Matlab/Simulink program.

Modulation of consequences of ischemia and hypoxia
Nohejlová, Kateryna ; Mareš, Jan (advisor) ; Šonka, Karel (referee) ; Vožeh, František (referee)
Modulation of consequences of ischemia and hypoxia Kateryna Nohejlová (maiden Deykun), MD Abstract It is known from literature that that many types of insults are accompanied by the increase of free radicals level. The models of three pathological states, which are known to be related to the changes in free radicals production, were used for the purposes of the work. These models were also chosen because the intensity of action of pathogenic factor borderlines the threshold of mainly functional CNS disturbances. It was need for the animals to survive the interventions in order use behavioral methods of assessment. For the estimation of the degree of disturbances were used tests of postural motor function and motor learning and spatial orientation. The action of free radicals was evaluated indirectly by application of their scavengers and antioxidants: tempol and melatonin, which act extracellularly as well as intracellularly. Scavengers were administered as prevention, before an insult, and as therapy, after an insult. The results were divided into three sets of experiments: 1. Focal photothrombotic ischemia of sensorimotor cortex: The performance of animals that received tempol treatment did not significantly differ from the animals subjected to plain ischemia in either of tests. Melatonin application...

The importance of occupational therapy for clients in the social and health care facilities

In my work, I realize the importance of occupational therapy for clients in the social and health care facilities. In the theoretical part I try to describe groups of clients who have worked with me and filled me questionnaire for research, and the importance for them of Occupational Therapy has or could have. These are the elderly, people with alcohol and drugs and people with personality disorders and behavior.

Molecular dynamics simulations of complexes consisting of proteins and nucleic acids
Hammer, Jiří ; Barvík, Ivan (advisor) ; Obšil, Tomáš (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis was to study interactions of Argonaute (Ago) protein in a complex with nucleic acids. Based on the available crystal structures of full length Argonaute (from A. aeolicus, Aa-Ago) and/or its domains (human PAZ domain, Hs-PAZ), twelve different simulations were computed. Two initial simulations used model of Aa-Ago with either a duplex of DNA/RNA or RNA/RNA. Major difference was in behavior of the PAZ domain (especially its arginine residues), which tolerated the guide DNA in one simulation, but was disturbing the RNA guide strand in the second. Such an interaction could serve as a mechanism of the substrate recognition. In additional simulations (3-9) employing the Hs-PAZ domain, where no disturbance was found in the DNA/RNA hetero-duplex. Different arrangements of the active site geometry as well as empirical parameterizations of Mg2+ ion were probed and analyzed. The DD-catalytic motif plus D683 in Aa-Ago (equivalent to H807 in human Argonaute2) was observed to coordinate the Mg2+ ion in one and two metal ion dependent catalysis models. Highly conserved R570 and E578 created mutual hydrogen bonds and hence stabilized the active site. To make the cleavage irreversible, a role for the first (unpaired) nucleotide from 5'-end of the guide strand was suggested. It lies in a...

Nursing Care of the Patient with Alzheimer's Disease
Málková, Jarmila ; Heřmanová, Jana (advisor) ; Pietrucha, Slavomír (referee)
Alzheimer's disease causes a disturbance at the client's cognitive function, activities of daily living and behavioral changes. Thus the affected client gradually becomes totally dependent on the help of another person. Professional nursing care for clients with Alzheimer's disease must be provided in a comprehensive, focusing on areas where self-care client fails. Care is very demanding and requires high expertise, professionalism and empathy for all members of the caring team.

Energetic value of diet and levels to selected hormonal parameters in patients with eating disorders
Doubková, Hana ; Nedvídková, Jara (advisor) ; Smitka, Kvido (referee)
Ghrelin is a gut peptide produced by mainly stomach that induces appetite stimulatory actions. Obestatin is peptide derived from preproghrelin and was initially described to antagonize stimulatory effect of ghrelin on food intake. This work was undertaken to investigate the influence of postprandial status on plasma ghrelin and obestatin concentrations in patients with bulimia nervosa and healthy women. After overnight fasting, plasma ghrelin and obestatin were measured before and after consumption of soluble fiber alone or with glucose. I observed greater decrease of plasma ghrelin and obestatin after consumption of soluble fiber with glucose. I conclude that postprandial plasma ghrelin and obestatin levels are influenced by caloric content of the meal and depend on eating behavior.
