Microfinance - poverty reduction tool

This diploma thesis focuses on microfinance, it's basic characteristics and general principles of it's function. It introduces microfinance approaches, development of microfinance, microfinancial services and microfinance providers. Two largest microfinance institutions in Bangladesh, Grameen bank a BRAC, illustrate how microfinance works, helps to empower the poor and reduces their poverty in one of the poorest countries in the world.

What is the value of information? This is the crucial question that arises in relation to the legal protection of databases. The rise of new media created a brand new world that we labelled the information society in which the information is one of the most valuable assets. The power of digitalization came hand in hand with this rapid transformation and has offered us an almost indefinite amount of storage space and permitted us the dramatic increase of speed for the transfer of data and information, while, consequently making violation and infringing of intellectual property rights simpler than ever before. The form of a database has been transformed and has become increasingly important as a way of organizing data and information in the age of information society. This State Doctoral Thesis called The Legal Protection of Databases aims to present the comparative analysis of database protection in three countries-namely the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America. Comparison of standards of fair trade organisations and impacts on producer organisations in developing countries

This thesis consists of comparison of different standards of chosen organisations and companies involved in sustainable trade at different levels -- fair trade, fair trade lite and ethical trade. International sustainable trade standards setting organisations are represented by Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO), the World Fair Trade Organisation (IFAT), Rainforest Alliance and UTZ Certified. The privat sector is represented by internal standards of several companies from Germany (Gepa, Rapunzel and El Puente), Austria (EZA) and USA (Starbucks). The main part of the thesis consists in description and consequent comparison of particular standards of each organisation/company. The short-run impacts of chosen standards on producers from developing countries are compared then (the long-run impacts cannot be compared yet because of lack of relevant data available).

My diploma thesis, "Woman and violin - problems o f musical pedagogy", deals with women's contribution to violin arts as a certain profession area. It specializes in both its educational and purely practical function, represented by playing the violin itself. It is bringing closer the effort o f female violinists throughout the whole violin arts history. This work is divided into several parts. The firts one deals with the development and history o f world's female violinists1 activities before the beginning o f the "recording period" - up to the begining of the twentieth century (Wilma Maria Neruda, Teresa Milanollo, Teresina Tua and others). Furthermore, this work is also focusing on world's female violinists occuring after the beginning of the "recording time - from the beginning of the twentieth century up to the present - mentioning Maud Powel, Marie Hall, Erica Morini, Ginette Neveu, Ida Haendel, Kyung Wha Chung, Anne-Sophie Mutter and others. The second part tells about the Czech female violinists throughout the history up to the present - referring to Kitty Červenková, Marie Hlouňová, Bedřiška Seidlová, Nora Grumlíková, Hana Kotková, Gabriela Demeterová and others. Instruments of the EU external relations: European Neighbourhood Policy

The main topic of this master thesis is instruments of the EU external representation specifically in case of the European Neighborhood Policy. As the theoretical part this thesis uses forming the external united position of the European countries after the World War II through the key documents adopted in the framework of the European integration, ending with the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty that creates the contemporary instruments for the external representation of the EU. The research question of this thesis is whether in the context of the European Neighborhood Policy is the united position of the EU Member States. The case study of the European Neighborhood Policy combines elements of both quantitative and qualitative research.

Special economic zones: Cure for the development of backward regions or a myth? Comparison of China, Nigeria and Zambia during 2001-2014

Over the last fifty years Special economic zones have become widely used tool of economic policy. This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of Special economic zones in China, Zambia and Nigeria and studies the impact of the zones on the economic development of the countries. First, I define the theoretical background of the zones and their brief history. In the following chapter the thesis focuses on zone development in individual states and their specifications. Then the thesis focuses on a comparison of the inflows of foreign direct investment and indices of business environment between the countries. Final chapter evaluates the success of the SEZ policy on the countries development. The conclusion of this work has been to answer the hypothesis: Are the special economic zones universal instrument for development of backward regions? The answer is they are not and therefore I reject the hypothesis.

Prvním způsobem je kontrola populačního růstu a druhým liberalizace světového obchodu a domácího trhu.

Comparative Analysis of Liberal and Mandatory Health Insurance Systems (specifically the USA and Czech Republic)

The thesis aims to critically compare liberal and mandatory health systems, and based on detected advantages and disadvantages of each, propose certain solutions and recommendations to optimize the health care system. During this task it also puts into context historical, legal and ethical backgrounds which strongly influence the system set up. Optimal adjustment of the health care system is an issue that worries most of the world's countries and this thesis, with it's unbiased evaluation, proposes suggestions on potential better functionality and effectiveness of health care. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the major economical terms connected to health care and the typology of healthcare systems. In the following practical part, the US and the Czech healthcare systems are analyzed as the representatives of the liberal and the traditional mandatory health care systems by the international comparison method and the result shows positive experiences from the systems, applicable especially for the Czech Republic.

Italy - the potential market for further foreign expansion of the Storyous company

Restaurants, bars or cafés will always serve as places for social interaction and so they are an essential part of human life. In each country around the world, it is a place for meeting people and communication. The mission of Storyous company is to help its clients to create a pleasant atmosphere in their food service business by providing next generation POS system not only in the Czech Republic but also in Poland. The company has already experience with the electronic sales reporting that brings considerations about another international market for its expansion. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the Italian market, mainly the sector of gastronomy services and qualify and quantify the customer base in Italy. At the same time, the structure of competitors along with a brief sample of them will be introduced. The timing for the Italian market entry, the gross initial costs and the rate of product adaption will be discussed on the basis of PEST analysis and Porter Five strenghts model analysis. In the conclusion author of the thesis recommends further steps for more detailed analysis.
