The influence of some factors on renal impairment in AA amyloidosis
Potyšová, Zuzana ; Ryšavá, Romana (advisor) ; Monhart, Václav (referee) ; Horák, Pavel (referee)
Introduction: Available data suggest an association between presence of secondary (AA) amyloidosis and MCP-1 (monocyte chemoatracttant protein-1) and MIP-1alpha (macrophage inflammatory protein-1 alpha) genes polymorphisms. Some studies have also shown an impact of polymorphisms in exon 3 of SAA 1 (serum amyloid A 1) gene on the incidence of AA amyloidosis in different populations. Methods: The incidence of single genotypes MCP-1, MIP-1alpha and SAA 1 genes was investigated. Serum levels of SAA, MCP-1 and MIP-1alpha were measured and potential relation between serum levels and genotypes were analyzed. All examinations were performed in patients with AA amyloidosis (43), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) without amyloidosis and healthy control group (100). Results: Significantly more frequent occurrence of 1.1/1.1 genotype in SAA 1 was recorded in AA amyloidosis group compared to RA group as well as in control group (p<0,001). No statistically significant differences in distribution of another genotypes were found. Distribution of neither 1.1/1.1 genotype nor another ones did not vary among RA group and control group. No significant difference in distribution of another examined genotypes was recorded among all three groups. Serum concentrations of SAA were statistically significantly higher in AA amyloidosis group...

Diffusion of Particles from Tokamak by Stochastization of Magnetic Field Lines
Cahyna, Pavel ; Krlín, Ladislav (advisor) ; Rohlena, Karel (referee) ; Suttrop, Wolfgang (referee)
The thesis summarizes the current state of research of thermonuclear fusion with magnetic confinement and decribes the possible role of stochastization of magnetic field lines and magnetic perturbations in solving some of the problems that are encountered on the road to the exploitation of fusion. It presents a theoretical introduction to deterministic chaos and explains the connection of this theory to magnetic perturbations in tokamak. The results are presented mainly in the form of publications in journals and conference proceedings. Among them are: the comparison of chaotic diffusion of particles and field lines, where significant differences were found; the application of chaotic diffusion of particles to the problem of runaway electrons originating in disruptions, where our simulations contributed to explaining the experimental results from the JET tokamak; the calculation of spectra of perturbations for the COMPASS tokamak, done as a preparation for the upcoming experiments; and modelling of screening of perturbations by plasma, where the observations of divertor footprints show as a promising method to detect the screening.

Muscles groups participation in crawl stroke during a recovery phase
Požgayová, Šárka ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Čechovská, Irena (referee)
1. ABSTRACT AND KEY WORDS Thema: Using EMG for comparing correct technic of upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. Introduction: Our measurement is aimed to detect influence of muscles activity of the shoulder joint and back during the upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. Monitoring and recording muscles activity by EMG inform about movement stereotype of our probands. We've tried to localized uncorrect activation oppossite to optima! muscle activity of (ex) competitive swimmer. Results of measuremens are used for correction of faulty upper limb recovery stereotype. Results should enlarged knowledge about technic of recovery and help in way of teaching both competitive and noncompetive swimmers, like students of FTVS UK (Fakulty of phyzical education and sport at The Charles University in Prague), which learns to swim in the age of adulthood. Protocol and measurements: Muscles were selected acording recommendation of leader of my diploma dissertation Mgr. Daniel Jurák. The ]ocations of the electrodes on the body were chosen acording to the recommendation of MUDr. David Pánek. Groups of muscles round shoulder joint were measured using EMG during the upper limb recovery phase in the front crawl. The EMG is synchronized with videorecorder. Both videorecord and EMG rneasurernent were analysed by...

Analysis of the financing of tertiary education: Why do students have to pay more in the U.S. than in the Czech Republic?
Saidlová, Veronika ; Janíčko, Martin (advisor) ; Brožová, Dagmar (referee)
This thesis analyzes the question why there are differences in concerning the payment of school fees at the tertiary level of education across relatively developer economies. The main surveyed countries are the Czech Republic and the USA, however, in order to find out the answer that could be more generalized a representative sample of OECD countries, EU countries, and OECD and EU candidate countries is used. For finding the significant variables, logit model was used. The model has Essentials demonstrated that the introduction of school fees is to some extent influenced by the presence of an undemocratic regime during last 25 years and also by the number of people with tertiary education in the population.

The accounting view to leasing
Bubníková, Jana ; Rauš, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts -- theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics, legal regulations and introduction of different kind of leasing, the allocation of leasing at the actual market in Czech Republic, as well as the explanation of main advantages and disadvantages of leasing. The accounting and the impact of leasing in particular years is shown in the practical part. The first example focuses differences in particular kinds of leasing. The second one compares financial leasing from the view of leasee with an investment credit.

Development of Left-wing Parties in Czech Republic and Slovakia
Minárik, Pavol ; Just, Petr (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Josef (referee)
This paper, entitled "Development of Left-Wing Parties in Czech Republic and Slovakia (Comparison)", deals with the topic o f great importance for post-communist regimes. Aim of the paper is comparison of the situation in this field in both countries. After brief introduction (Chapter 1), the theoretical concepts o f used in analysis are described (Chapter 2). These include theory o f transitions to democracy and concepts for classification of political parties, namely theory o f cleavages and theory o f ideological families. These theoretical parts are followed by analysis of situation in each country, first the Czech Republic in Chapter 3 and then Slovakia in Chapter 4. For both countries, overall evolution of party system is described. Then, development of each party is examined more closely. Comparison is given in Chapter 5. The comparison showed that there are some similarities in development of Czech and Slovak left-wing political parties. Especially in the first period after the fall of Communist regime, both party systems were alike. However, differences emerged later. In the Czech Republic, party system developed standard western-like structure by the election o f 1998. On the contrary, development of Slovak party system was complicated and it is not finished yet. There are differences in...

In my thesis I am dealing with problems regarding to income methods in real estates valuation. It includes brief introduction of different types of real estates valuation methods so comparsion with them is possible. Part related to income methods is concentrated on definition and explanation of discounted cash flow and capitalization methods and differences between them. In application part I was engaged in valuation of commerce building designed for renting and I calculated it's value with three different types of income based methods of valuation.

A contrastive study of means expressing necessity in English and Czech
Šimůnková, Renata ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Dušková, Libuše (referee) ; Huschová, Petra (referee)
The dissertation investigates the structures of the semantic field of necessity in English and in Czech on the basis of means of expression found in eight works of contemporary fiction (four English books, four Czech books and their published translations). The aim of the thesi s is first to describe the structure of the semantic field in each individuallanguage and then compare the acquired data, determine the similarities and differences and discuss the potential causes of the differences and their consequences in connection with the accurate expression of necessity in both languages. The dissertation consists of three main parts: theoretical, empirical and the conclusion. The theoretical part is outlined as a broad general introduction into the problems of modality and then specifically of necessity. Apart form the delimitation and interpretation of the general concept of modality it focuses on the means of expression of necessity used in English and Czech and their comparison. In the empirical part the individua! means of expression found in the fiction are first discussed and compared within each individuallanguage (e.g. the distinctions between must and have to, or mustn 't and can 't are discussed in detail) and then between the two languages. The conclusion offers brief summaries of the outcomes of...

Migration of doctors and health workers in selected countries of Europe since 1990
Panczaková, Kateřina ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (advisor) ; Loužek, Marek (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is the comparison of the position of the healthcare personnel on the labor market and migration in selected countries - Czech Republic, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. In the theoretical introduction it describes concepts such as brain drain, remittances, emigration and others subjects associated with the migration of the workforce. It analyzes the differences in labor market of healthcare personnel in selected countries and the activities of doctors for change of working conditions. The practical part presents and analyzes data from publicly available statistical sources (OECD, Eurostat, IHIS CR etc.) regarding the number of healthcare personnel, the number of migrating doctors and nurses and their destination countries, salary and wage conditions of health professionals. Expenses on health and quality of the health care are compared between selected countries. Finally, recommendations for Czech Republic, that could help prevent excessive drain of medical personnel abroad, are given - an increase in wages and health expenditures, increasing the number of medical personnel and reduction of administrative burdens.

The effect of bailiff territoriality on the reclamation of receivables, the length of debt recovery and other aspects of court-ordered distraints
Plaček, Jan ; Smrčka, Luboš (advisor) ; Belás, Jaroslav (referee) ; Hučka, Miroslav (referee)
The area of individual reclamation of receivables in the form of court-ordered distraints has undergone significant changes since the year 2000. The initial practice, when the claims used to be enforced directly by judicial officers, proved to be largely ineffective and with difficult to apply. The Ministry of Justice has responded by adopting an amendment to the Act (Act no. 120/2001 Coll., on bailiffs and executor activities), which introduced the independent bailiff offices. Then, the law itself understood the bailiff authorities as a separate entrepreneurs. Currently, in the Czech Republic, there can be seen the distribution of the market with distraints according to the Pareto rule. Approximately 20% of bailiff offices manage over 80% of distraints. It is obvious that this is an unsatisfactory condition for the majority of bailiff offices. In response to this fact, the Czech Chamber of Bailiff offices calls for the introduction of territoriality, which would eliminate by law the market environment from the market with distraints and every single bailiff office would have a stable allocation of distraint proceedings. The analysis carried out clearly shows that there are significant differences between bailiff offices in terms of speed and in success of the debt recovery. The actual demand for the introduction of territoriality would not merely be a reallocation of the market with distraints. Putting it into a practice would greatly influence the transactional costs of business and non-business entities in the Czech economy. The thesis comprehensively describes the issue of territoriality and quantifies how much the debt collection will decrease in case of its introduction. In the conclusion, an alternative draft is formulated, which might, according to the author, allow effective regulation and supervision of the activities of bailiffs' offices without compromising the inherent efficiency of the reclamation of receivables in terms of market environment.
