Management tools utilization for disclosing firm's constraints

This diploma thesis is focused on the use of management tools and practices specialized in finding organizations constraints that limit their performance and make it impossible to effectively achieve their goal. The tools can be divided into static ones that describe relationships between causes and their effects using causal relations and dynamic ones that are oriented on cyclical relations that appear in periods. Although those dynamic tools are not suitable enough for validating causal relations they can better visualize these relations in time. Both of the tools are based on the principle that the user has to change the way of thinking when looking for undesirable effects in the system. The theoretical part of the thesis is extended by Greiner growth model that describes growth phases of organizations and typical problems that appear in each phase. Thus this model can be used to help uncover causes of organizations constraints. Practical part of the thesis is focused on application of the tools and on finding the main constraint in a small software company. It is divided into a few parts: company description, proposal of requirement collection and its implementation, description of relationships between the company and external systems, proposal of an improvement of a notation that is used for diagramming current state of problems in a company, diagramming the current reality tree and finding the main constraint. The contribution of the thesis lies in depicting advantages and disadvantages of the tools used for finding company constraints and in application of one of the tools including the proposal of improvement. The conclusion includes recommendations for improvement implementation that help to eliminate main company constraint and increase the system performance.

Analysis of the railway transportation in New York City

Railway transportation in New York is one of the oldest and largest systems in the world. Subway, according to the high density of the city, is the essential part of passenger transportation within the boroughs of New York City - Manhattan, Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. Connections to rural and intercity transportation increases the passenger flow within the system and classifies itself as one of the busiest subways in the world. The future of subway lays in track improvements and enlargements including new line T which is being constructed. A significant impact has the current financial crisis also and makes MTA - the management of the subway take important decisions regarding investment strategy. Overall, the railway system has been reliable, however, there are several challenges that must be taken into consideration to ensure the transportation for more than 8 mil. people in the area.

Dále jsou zde rozlišeny jednotlivé druhy dopravy a jejich rizika, jsou zde údaje ohledně INCOTERMS, konosamentů a dále postup při hlášení pojistných událostí.

Divination Practices of Christmas Ritual Cycle in the Czech Lands

My work presents a typological index of divination practices performed during an interval between the beginning of Advent and Epiphany (Three Kings' Day). This list is made of folk practices known in the Czech lands since advent of Christianity until now. Particular types of divination practices are sorted by goals achieved by divination, not chronologically. Framework of this work is made by general interpretation of the divination itself as cultural practice with introduction to the context of Christian Christmas celebration and also to the problematics of koexistence of Slavic pre-Christian culture with Christian culture in early Middle Ages. Main data use in my work are ethnographic data drawn from books of Č. Zíbrt, J. I. Hanuš and other Czech ethnographers. Theoretical parts are based on works of scholars of religion, folklorists and anthropologists such as M. Eliade, K. J. Erben or K. Richter. Název: POHYBOVÁ AKTIVITA U TOTÁLNÍ ENDOPROTÉZY KYČELNÍHO KLOUBU FYZICAL ACTIVITY AT TOTAL ENDOPROSTHESIS OF THE HIP JOINT Cíle práce: Mezi cíle této diplomové práce patří mimo jiné teoretické vymezení jednotlivých pojmů v oblasti anatomie a fyziologie kyčelního kloubu, indikace k totální endoprotéze kyčelního kloubu, druhy endoprotéz, cílená pooperační péče, pohybová aktivita po zákroku. Součástí práce je praktická případová studie, jejímž záměrem je zmapování vybraného vzorku populace s touto diagnózou. Metoda: K mapování vzorku populace s diagnózou totální endoprotézy kyčelru'ho kloubu byla použita anketa ( nestandartní dotazník). Na základě této ankety byl vyhotoven grafický přehled o indikaci, věku, použití kompenzačních pomůcek atd.. Dotazovaní jedinci obdrželi sestavenou anketu, jejíž součástí byli přesné instrukce k vyplnění. Výsledky: Ve výsledku bylo zjištěno, že rehabilitace kyčelního kloubu byla úspěšná. Toto potvrzují i naměřené údaje o rozsahu pohybu v kloubu a o změně svalové síly. Anketa prokázala vysokou informovanost klienta s předoperačním a pooperačním průběhem rehabilitace. Eritrea and Somaliland - comparison of independence struggle

The aim of this thesis is to compare efforts of Eritrea and Somaliland to obtain independence and to find out why Eritrea was in independence obtaining succesful and Somaliland not. Chapter 1 offers a basic theoretical background concerning a question of international law and formation of a state. Based on basic international law documents regarding this topic it describes crucial terms and principles. Further it discusses a question of secession justifiability and it concerns also application of theoretical principles in reality. Chapter 2 includes basic geographical information and ethnical characteristics of population of both regions. Chapter 3 briefly describes history of both states from their emergence up to the beginning of fifties of the last century. The aim of this chapter is to describe international and internal influences which formed uniqueness of both regions within parent states which later supported the efforts to obtain independence. Chapter 4 is devoted to a concrete description of both areas' efforts to obtain independence in the second half of 20th century. It focuses mainly on international negotiations regarding future of both countries, formation and development of independence movements and the concrete course of independence declaration. Chapter 5 evaluates the course and results of independence struggle in both countries.

Basic phytochemical investigation of some taxons division Eumycota with respect to study of antioxidant activity

SOUHRN Tato práce si kladla za cíl provést základní fytochemický výzkum vybraných 14 taxonů hub oddělení Eumycota. Pojednávané druhy hub patří celkem do sedmi čeledí: Boletaceae, Hydnaceae, Pleurotaceae, Polyporaceae, Russulaceae, Strophariaceae a Telephoraceae. Nejpočetněji je zde zastoupena čeleď Russulaceae kam náleží osm hub ze sledovaných 14 druhů. Příprava extraktů pro účely v této práci spočívala jen v navážení potřebného množství již hotového lyofilizátu a přidání vhodného rozpouštědla. Práce se zabývala dvěma experimentálními základy. Tenkovrstvou chromatografií se skupinovými reakcemi a stanovením antioxidační aktivity pomocí DPPH testu s použitím metody SIA. Literární rešerže byla zaměřena jak na informace o obsahových látkách sledovaných taxonů tak na údaje o jejich biologické aktivitě a případné toxicitě. Z hlediska antioxidační aktivity se zdá být zajímavá houba Albatrellus ovinus. Ve studii 3- hydroxyneogrifolin a 1-formyl-3-hydroxyneogrifolin, látky obsažené v její plodnici, vykazovaly silnější antioxidační aktivitu než α - tokoferol nebo BHA. 14 Při použití metody SIA pro stanovení antioxidační aktivity DPPH testem byly použity koncentrace sumárních extraktů 0,1 mg/ml, 0,5 mg/ml, 0,25 mg/ml a 0,1 mg/ml. Standardem byl Trolox měřený při koncentracích 0,5 mg/ml, 0,1 mg/ml, 0,05 mg/ml a 0,025...

Sloupnice village as the part of Orlicko - Trebovsko microregion

Na pojem mikroregion lze v obecném smyslu pohlížet jako na území malých rozměrů, v němž probíhají nejzákladnější regionální procesy, mezi které patří uspokojování obyvatel základními druhy služeb, migrace obyvatelstva za prací, dostupné dopravní spojení, kulturní vyžití atd. Práce se zabývá otázkou, zda-li je pro obec přínosné být součástí mikroregionu. Konkrétně zkoumá vztah obce Sloupnice a mikroregionu Orlicko ? Třebovsko. Cílem práce je potvrdit hypotézu o tom, že pro obec je členství přínosným faktorem při cestě za dobrou a pružnou samostatnou samosprávou. Zjišťuje, zda-li je to pro obec výhodné finančně a jaká jiná pozitiva a negativa toto členství přináší. Také se zabývá možnostmi obce při získávání mimořádných finančních prostředků. Pro větší přehlednost a snazšího dosažení výsledku potvrzení hypotézy, je zkoumání přínosu členěno do jednotlivých let.

Arbitration as a type of alternative dispute resolution.

This thesis deals with arbitration. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether arbitration has a future in of Czech Republic and whether it can compete with court proceeding considering its regulation in the Act on arbitration. The thesis enables the confirmation or disproof of hypotheses claiming that arbitration represents a parallel to dispute resolution in civil proceedings, that the amendment of the Act on arbitration from the year 2016 is a step in the right direction, and that general courts do not intervene in the arbitration proceedings. The diploma thesis is divided in two chapters, the first chapter discusses alternative disputes resolution and the second chapter analyzes arbitration. Within the second chapter, the attention is focused on the concept of arbitration, its contemporary regulation and types, arbitrability, arbitration ageement, arbitrator, principles, process and ending of arbitration.
