Signal Integrity Optimization Techniques for High-Speed Chips Signaling

Tato disertační práce je obsahově zaměřená na problematiku integrity signálů v moderních čipových obvodech. Na základě provedených simulací a praktických experimentů byl proveden návrh equalizační techniky druhého řádu pro efektivnější vysokorychlostní komunikaci. Předložený návrh respektuje současné požadavky na vyvíjené signalizační techniky, které zahrnují efektivnější využití šířky pásma přenosového kanálu a energetickou úsporu. Provedené analýzy podrobně ukazují možnost zvýšení přenosové rychlosti při přenosu signálu skrz nízkonákladové přenosové kanály s využitím navržené signální metody. Výkonnost navrhované signalizační techniky je demonstrována na různých typech přenosových kanálů s přenosovou funkcí vyššího řádu. Diskutovány jsou rovněž možnosti omezení rušivých vlivů na přenosové kanály během návrhu.

The trends of spending leisure time in Náchodsko region (a comparative study in the rural area)

Free time in today's life is becoming more and more important. The development of modern society and specialization of labor market today divides more obviously time for responsibilities and pastime. Leisure time is a very individual matter and its form is dependent on many aspects. Age and the size of the place of residence belong to those aspects that influence spending our free time. The relation between them became the core topic of this thesis. The practical part is based on my own research in three urban areas of different size in Nachod district. The research analyses the offer of free time activities as well as the attitude of the inhabitants in relation to their age and the size of town. The core task of this practical part was to look for any causal links. Deeper analysis shows that there is a certain coherence between the age of inhabitants, the size of their town and the style of spending leisure time, nevertheless this influence is not very significant. It is above all a very individual matter.

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the process analysis in specific organization. Basic terminology, very essence of processional approach and methods used during analysis are explained and described in the theoretical part. In the analytic part is described the current situation of the company, processional maps of specific processes are created and weak spots are identified. In the final part are listed recommendations and their influence on processes.

Zinc induced activation of breast cancer cell lines and the involvement of Map kinase

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Candidate: Jarmila Králová Supervisor: Dr. Kathryn Taylor, Ph.D., PharmDr. Martina Čečková, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Zinc induced activation of breast cancer cell lines and the involvement of MAP kinase The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of zinc on various signalling pathways in breast carcinoma cell lines MCF7 and TamR cells. The differences between signalling pathways in MCF7 cell line and TamR cells were evaluated with a special focus on a role of MAP kinase, which activation is believed to be linked with malignant diseases. An effect of zinc on various cellular kinases in 0, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minute of zinc treatment was analyzed in MCF7 cells transfected by wild and mutant type of ZIP 7, TamR cells and TamR cells pre-treated with MAP kinase inhibitor (PD) using the methods of western blotting and fluorescent microscopy. We show here the dependence of activation of pMAP kinase and other important oncogenic kinases (such as Lyn, Src and STAT3) on zinc release into cytoplasm. According to our results, MAP kinase is activated very upstream and it can stimulate many important protein kinases as Src Y418 , STAT3 S727 and Lyn Y396 in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer...

Application of Balanced Scorecard

The concept of the Balanced Scorecard taking a part in the strategic management of a company, is a main focus of this thesis. There are the theoretical and methodological parts of the Balanced Scorecard characterized individually, as well as the development and the history of this concept. This thesis is dealing with a draft of the practical implementation of the mentioned methods. The practical part of the thesis is following the theoretical introduction where the practical part is focused on a practical application of the Balanced Scorecard method for a specific company. The company is specified by the Corporate Performance and Business Model Canvas by using the PESTEL Analysis, Porter's Five Forces Model and Financial SWOT Analysis. The company strategy is specified based on the previous conclusions. The set strategy is an underlies for a follow-up Balanced Scorecard, where causal links between the intended targets and the strategy are displayed in the Strategic Map. The implementation of the strategy to the everyday use of the company is a part of the thesis, as well.

Review of the book Natural capitalism

Recenze je zaměřena na možné přínosy, které kniha přináší urbanismu, pojatému jako teorie prognóz, návrhu, výstavby a správy měst. Kniha uvádí témata, která již byla předmětem delšího zájmu, nových výzkumů a studií RMI (Rocky Mountains Institute v USA). Přes snahu autorů přinést co nejvíce případů aplikace nových přístupů, ekologických i ekonomických šancí - universálním návodem ani praktickým "manuálem" však kniha není. Mimo jiné i proto, že je ovlivněna současnou realitou USA, zejména problematikou závislosti společnosti na autech, a obsah knihy tak nesplňuje imperativ Alberta Einsteina, použitý jako motto knihy - " Problémy nelze řešit způsobem myšlení, který problémy vytvořil". Obsah kapitol 1 až 13 je zaměřen na moderní pojetí "ekologických služeb" přírody, tak aby dobře a udržitelně fungovala jako "faktor 4" kapitalismu. Kapitola 14 je zaměřena na "sociální služby", poskytované systémy jako jsou velká města, která jsou naplánována, realizována a spravována ve smyslu nově definovaných, udržitelných "sociálních služeb". Jako vzor je použito významné brazilské města Curitiba. Kapitola 14 je však mediální, nepřesvědčivá a postrádá jakékoli urbanistické informace. Detailnější pohled na případ města Curitiba si tudíž čtenář - odborník, politik, urbanista - musí získat sám a jinde. Je to nezbytné, jinak mu kniha poskytne o "faktoru 4" - sociálních službách - jen povrchní informace. Kapitola 15 je o prognózách a plánování ve vztahu ke společnému habitatu lidí a také ostatní přírody. Bohužel i v této kapitole chybí odpovídající konkrétní doklady.
