Matěková, Věra ; Ouředníček, Martin (advisor) ; Šiftová, Jana (referee)
ABSTRACT. Suburbanization is a process that is connected with political, economic and social changes in our republic after the Velvet Revolution in 1989. New conditions were created for suburban development in the 1990s. At present a lot of geographers pay attention to suburbanization. I have decided to deal with this process because I am a geography teacher and I live in Prague's hinterland, where suburbanization develops most of all. This work deals with the influence of suburbanization on population development in four case localities and in the district of Prague-East. It is focused on problems and consequences connected with suburbanization. The aim is to find out whether new suburbanites are satisfied with the life in suburbium. The work concludes with a discussion about this topic use in geography lessons.

Skupina 42 and Chicago Renaissance - Kolář, Sandburg, Masters (1914-1948)
Vondřichová, Anna ; Šrámek, Petr (advisor) ; Holý, Jiří (referee)
This text is concerned with the connections between the Chicago Renaissance movement and the Czech post-war Skupina 42 (Group 42). Not being a fixed programme, Chicago Rennaisance covers not only the work of its major representatives - Carl Sandburg, Edgar Lee Masters and Vachel Lindsay, but also the general cultural atmosphere around the time of the First World War in the American Middle West. Although there are considerable timespace differences, the poetics of the particular poets and Skupina 42 members (especially Jiří Kolář) have much in common. Primarily, it is the effort to define a newly developing city as well as an individual's role in a human community. The complexity of this community requires adequate forms of poetic expression, which is in both cases performed by the use of everyday speech and free verse, depicting aptly social, ethnic and individual variability. Moreover, the imperfection and at the same time beauty of the common speech offer a fitting parallel to the character of the city as a whole.

The work dealt with the current management of cultural projects, including a lack of educational opportunities than abroad. It is true that in the recent past there was no existence of formal education as far as cultural management is concerned. Even though there have been slight changes, the situation is not ideal. This work assessed also appropriate skills, assumptions and key activities of the organizers. With the increasing prevalence of women organizers they were also given one of the chapters that attempted to express the specifics of women's organizational work. It is possible to predict the future from some current trends, and therefore it has...

Groundwater flow and highly permeable zones in aquifers of eastern part of Bohemian Cretaceous Basin based on Litá area and surroundings
Lachman, Vladimír ; Bruthans, Jiří (advisor) ; Vysoká, Helena (referee)
7 Abstract Groundwater flow and highly permeable zones in aquifers of eastern part of Bohemian Cretaceous Basin based on Litá area and surroundings In my thesis I deal with the character of highy permeable zones in marlstones and calcitic sandstones in east-bohemian synclines of the Czech Cretaceous Basin. My chosen area lies southwest of Nové Msto nad Metují and within it lies Litá area, an important source of groundwater for Hradec Králové region. Groundwater in the area was contaminated in the 80's by chlorinated hydrocarbons. Based on a detailed field sampling of 23 boreholes and 4 sites of surface water performed in 2008 and on archival data on contaminant concentrations, I evaluate the character and relationships of groundwater from the boreholes. I grouped boreholes according to their chemical properties. In the second part of my thesis, I perform the analysis of the influence of faults on groundwater flow in a larger area of east-bohemian synclines. Results show that most yielding boreholes lie between fractures, not near them, which suggests the impermeable role of fractures. From available information I then try to answer the question of highly permeable zones of preferential groundwater flow. Based on the observed flow velocity,...

Problematika karcinomu čípku, zdravotně sociální dopady onemocnění
MÜLLEROVÁ, Jana
The objective of the bachelor thesis focused on this topic was monitoring of the system of prevention and therapy of precanceroses and cervical cancer, including the medicosocial impacts of the disease in a population of Czech women. The studied cohort consisted of women living in the South Bohemian region, Central Bohemia and Prague who underwent the complex treatment of cervical cancer. The experimental part of the thesis was performed using questioning strategy along with data collection using an anonymous questionnaire. Surprisingly, the research implies that most of the women became ill with cervical cancer despite undergoing the gynecological examinations regularly before disease onset. Thus, this prophylactic method was unable to prevent them from the disease development. The amount of information regarding the risk of internal genital cancer is insufficient, even if provided by a gynecologist. The strongest distress associated to the disease was represented by the course of treatment itself, both in somatic and psychic sphere. In half of the cases, the negative impact of treatment on the psyche of the women was confirmed. More than half of the women that underwent the treatment do not work. At the same time, it was revealed that the consequences of the disease have negative effects on intimate life with the partner, however, the partnerships didn{\crq}t break up. The results imply that it is necessary to evaluate and improve the interpretation quality of colposcopic and cytologic examinations at the level of local ambulances. At the moment, the planned vaccination seems to be the best measure in prevention of the disease. It is necessary to promote the level of awareness about the issue, preferably within the framework for sexual health education of girls in the primary schools and consequently during the preventive visits in gynecological ambulances. Based on physician {--} psychologist cooperation, the psychological distress in the course of treatment can be managed by providing psychological counseling already during the hospital treatment. The earlier return of the patient to work can be achieved by integrating the patients into the complex rehabilitation process. Cervical carcinoma represents a serious illness and it should be in the interest of our society to improve and perfect the system of its awareness and prevention.

Language situation by the Slavic nations in the Habsburg monarchy in the 19th century
Nedvědová, Milada ; Gladkova, Hana (advisor) ; Marvan, Jiří (referee) ; Honzak-Jahić, Jasna (referee)
During the historical development the larger part of the south Slavs (Slovenes, Croats, partly the Serbs and the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the west Slavs (Czechs and Slovaks) had become the part of one state - the Habsburg Monarchy or the Austrian Empire and later the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The 19th century means for all mentioned Slavic nations the culmination of their tasks for emancipation; the stabilization of the language norm and the achievement of the intellectual entity. The historical and cultural situation in the common state during the 19th century opens areal, socio-linguistic and diachronic view on the codification processes by the particular nations, which are organized from one political centre by the common educational and administrative-political system. Secular education of better quality had led all the nations of the state to the cultural and political emancipation, which resulted in the destruction of monarchy. The first part of the work deals with the key moments of the history of the Slavs in the Habsburg Monarchy till the 19th century. From the Great Moravia and the Slavic mission of Cyril and Methodius, creation of the independent Slavic states, till their final integration to the Habsburg Monarchy. It focuses on the development of the literary languages -...
