Challenges in Providing Unpublished Research Data in Biomedical Engineering to Grey Literature Repositories
Francová, Pavla ; Krueger, Stephanie
Regardless of the scientific field or focus, every researcher produces during his or her career a multitude of unpublished research data such as laboratory diaries, grant proposals, images etc. Although making such data more accessible undoubtedly has value for researchers, they are currently not shared in open repositories. Why are researchers still reluctant to actively use grey literature repositories for unpublished contextual materials and data? Authors will discuss how scientists might be encouraged to add such material to grey literature repositories and specific examples of unpublished research data will be shown in connection to model scientifi c project.

Mass segregation - theory and experience
Dinnbier, František ; Jungwiert, Bruno (referee) ; Šubr, Ladislav (advisor)
Mass segregation plays a key role in the evolution of self-gravitating systems. Due to a process of dynamical friction, i.e. a loss of the kinetic energy of heavier stars due to the interaction with many lighter stars, heavier stars concentrate in cores of star clusters. In this work we derive analytical estimate of the rate of this process. Because of its complexity we try to nd our estimate by studying stars on radial and circular orbits. We compare our results with outputs of numerical models. With their help we identify trajectories radii of which decrease with approximately equal rate as a half-mass radius of heavier stars.

Sustainability of digital heritage
Cubr, Ladislav ; Bratková, Eva (advisor) ; Voit, Petr (referee)
Součástí práce je přehledné shrnutí základních východisek a cílů digitální archivace, uvedení speciální terminologie oboru do českého prostředí, jakožto i konceptualizace digitálního dokumentu a dalších klíčových entit. Analyzována je norma OAIS a koncept digitálního repozitáře. Nejrozsáhlejší část práce je věnována praktickým výstupům výzkumu oboru digitální archivace - ochranným opatřením vyvinutým pro zajištění trvalé udržitelnosti digitálního dědictví. Mezi ně patří migrace, emulace, infrastruktura trvalé identifikace, systém metadat, autentifikace a řada dalších. Ochranná opatření digitální archivace jsou vztažena ke kontextu...

The British bipartisan - continuity or change?
Čápová, Magdaléna ; Lebeda, Tomáš (advisor) ; Říchová, Blanka (referee)
The electoral system in the United Kingdom is generally considered as the simplest method of voting and is associated with the functioning of the British twoparty system. The first past the post system has a capacity to strike in its outcomes, though. The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of the British party system since the 19th century up to current days. The analyze is based on the study of the general elections held between 1918 and 2005 and compares the data outputs by the indexes measuring the disproportionality, over-representation, under-representation and party system characteristics. The study discloses the weaknesses of the electoral system, which influence the shape of the party system. These weaknesses led twice to temporally deviation of outcomes in the two-party system. A special focus is given to the period after the World War 2 and current trends that are influenced by the changes in socioeconomic structure within the British society since the 70s. The main grounds of the greater electoral disproportionality are seen in the size of constituencies, over-representation of Scotland and Wales, and the increase in support for the third parties, lower turnout and tactical voting. Variety of factors is considered to answer the question about continuity or change of the British...

Volume data fusions
Gróf, Szabolcs ; Felkel, Petr (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
In the present work we study the methods of volumetric data fusion. The thesis starts by explaining the basic physical principles of selected medical image acquisition methods - Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Positron Emission Tomography. This is followed by a basic overview of the organization and format of the processed data. In the next part, the thesis deals with the theoretical and mathematical background of image registration. This includes the explanation of different types of transformations, the different types of interpolation used by the transformation, the mutual information criterion for the alignment of images and the process of optimization. The discussion of fusion visualization methods comes next where 13 methods are explained and example image outputs are provided. The next chapter describes the implementation details of the practical part of the thesis by explaining the two main components of the program: the registration filter component and the fusion visualization viewer component. UML diagrams are shown and the purpose and function of the classes of these components are described in detail. The thesis is closed by the user manual of the demonstrating program and a conclusion of the described methods, which also discusses possible future improvements.

Design and implementation of the Business Architecture in the segment of providing the real-estate services
Vlach, Miroslav ; Svatá, Vlasta (advisor) ; Pochobradský, David (referee)
In the 21st century is still more and more emphasis laid on the phenomenon of Business Process Management. In a great number of corporations it plays the key role, because it makes the overall performance of the organization more effective and it is able to react flexibly in the rapidly changing environment. The main purpose of this graduation thesis is to get the reader to know the meaning of the notion "business architecture -- its structure and roles in the process management. The main task is to design business architecture of the specific field of business and try to implement it in the real and existent or emerging company subjects, offering the real-estate services. As a result of this, we prove the usefulness of the process management and business architecture as a key factor of reaching the effectivity in dynamic, rapidly changing and competitive environment. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part provides us with methodical data and the practical part with the design of business architecture of a subject, actively operating in the real-estate market. Graphical figures are also the part of the thesis using CABE tool ProVision by Metastorm Corporation.

Inclusion of the stratosphere into global climate model
Borovička, Pavel ; Halenka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bednář, Jan (referee)
The target of this work is to study an inclusion of the stratosphere in a global climate model and a sensitivity of model results on a choice of external parameters, which describe the model stratosphere. As the tool for this target a general circulation model called SPEEDY with spectral core based on simplified parametrizations and primitive-equation dynamics was used, the complex model CCM3 was used for discussion as well. The results of configuration of the model SPEEDY used in this study are presented as monthly-mean statistics outputs. The sensitivity of the model climate on the choice of the parameters of the model stratosphere is then studied by an application of linear regression model on an long-term monthly-means of selected meteorological quantities in the 1952-1992 period. The portion of the shortwave radiance absorbed by ozone layer plays here the role of the independent variable. It is also the only one external parameter, which characterize the stratosphere in the SPEEDY model. Then we look on the development of the model climatology in dependence of the parametrization of the model stratosphere according to the value of linear coefficient of the linear dependence on the portion of the absorbed shortwave radiation, eventually according to the value of linear and quadratic coefficient of the...
