Comparison of iron-chelating properties of synthetic iron chelators
Zárubová, Pavla ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (advisor) ; Pourová, Jana (referee)
in English Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of pharmacology and toxicology Candidate: Pavla Zárubová Tutor: Přemysl Mladěnka, Ph.D. Name of thesis: Comparison of iron-chelating properties of synthetic iron chelators Iron is an essential element for living cells. Both lack of iron (sideropenia) and iron overload can be dangerous for the organism. Thus, iron homeostasis is maintained on the cellular and whole body levels. Sideropenia may occur as a consequence of increased blood loss/ increased iron need (menarche, gravidity, lactation), lack of iron in food or in derangements of gastrointestinal tract. Iron excess can be caused by acute intoxication, dangerous mainly in children, and also in chronic poisoning, caused by hereditary disorders or especially by frequent blood transfusions during the treatment of some haematological diseases. Iron chelators are a wide group of chemical substances with very variable structure. They have been used therapeutically in different indications for many years and other indications are being researched recently. Traditionally, they are used for chelation therapy in acute intoxication and in chronic iron overload, nowadays they are in the center of research attention in association with cancer and neurodegenerative...

Music director, music and software three agents of programing music in radio
Mayerová, Veronika ; Stöckelová, Tereza (advisor) ; Kocman, David (referee)
This work deals with the interaction of human and non-human actors in the creative process. Its basic point is the notion of a socio-technological order, which works with equal access to human and non-human actors in social processes. The work is inspired by concepts from the selected studies, science and technology (Science and Technology Studies). Research follows the interaction of human and non-human entities using the example of programming music on the radio, namely the Czech Radio station for young listeners, Radio Wave. Field research was based on monitoring the interaction of three key players in the process of programming: music, selector software (used for programming most music radio stations worldwide) and the music director. The observation of mutual cooperation, induced effects, pressures, manipulation and the transformation of actors provides a comprehensive look at the creative process in which the software is not just a passive tool in the hands of its active user and music is not just obedient material in the hands of the reigning human creator, the music director. The goal is to help challenge anthropocentric discrimination of technologies and their activities in contemporary society. Although the research showed that, at Radio Wave, although the use of software is limited by a greater...

Coufalová, Kateřina ; Škubna, Ondřej (advisor) ; Petra, Petra (referee)
The topic of this thesis is to evaluate the rating system from support of young farmers. The theoretical part of the work draws from the literature, legislative measures and internet resources. The work presents the basic historical data and changes which the Czech Republic has undergone since joining the European Union and the description of the individual institutions are closely linked subsidy policy. There is also a given rules governing young farmers in applying for a grant and definition of their responsibilities arising from the subsequent drawdown approved subsidy. The theoretical part also focuses on the issue of organic farming, which is a European Union increasingly supported and its expansion is included in all programming periods and using grants to less favored areas LFA. They are closely linked to young farmers and farming in these areas is for the applicant advantage at the time of submission. Custom work is focused on the comparison of two contrasting regions and comparing of interest in agriculture from a gender perspective. Outside the applicants' interest is compared to their success, which is closely related to gender comparison. On the basis of comparison is the conclusion reached in a goal for the proposals and recommendations that can improve the efficiency of subsidies for young farmers and aid and for the future performance of the agricultural sector in the country.

Minority group children and their activities in Salesian Centres in Teplice and České Budějovice
BÁRTOVÁ, Martina
In our free time, we pursue activities where we experience delight, pleasure, entertainment and relaxation. The choice is based on our free will. The key functions of leisure time are psychological, social, therapeutic and economic. What is specific about leisure time of children and youth is that pedagogues can encourage them. Leisure time is at the same time a risk factor. The ever increasing number of drug and gambling machine addicted young people shows the potential serious consequences of neglect of leisure-time pedagogical encouragement. Salesian Youth Centres provide a great opportunity for pedagogues to encourage minority group children (especially Roma children in the Czech Republic) in their leisure-time. The idea behind the centres is to offer leisure-time activities for such {\clqq}different`` young people looking for different forms of activities, respecting their social structure, i.e. a natural team in which they unite, and offering them an environment where they can socialise in a friendly atmosphere and feel free. Despite their continuously increasing number, the Roma population is a minority showing considerable differences from other nations and nationalities. They are different in terms of race and their ethnic attributes, they live in considerable poverty and have a completely different lifestyle. The objective of my Baccalaureate thesis is to find out what conditions Salesian Youth Centres in Teplice and České Budějovice create for purposeful opportunities for leisure-time activities for minority group children, whether the offer is sufficient and how the mentality of this ethnic group is taken into account. I also wanted to find out what activities are prioritised by the children and why. I have developed 3 assumptions, where no. 1 is: {\clqq}Most of the activities are affected by the mentality of the clients who take part in developing the programme``, assumption no. 2: {\clqq}Minority group children are more active in integrating into occasional and spontaneous interest activities rather than regular interest activities``, and assumption no. 3: {\clqq}Minority group children integrate mostly into interest, cultural and sports activities. They rarely integrate into natural science and craftsmanship.`` A quantitative method of inquiry was applied to collect the required data on the specific topics. I chose 2 techniques, i.e. an inquiry focusing on minority group children and a controlled interview with leisure-time pedagogues. To confirm or disprove the assumptions, I had to evaluate all the inquiry questions and those in the controlled interview. My research has confirmed assumption No. 1 and 3, and disproves assumption no.2.

Automatic Checking of Translation
Šimlovič, Juraj ; Kuboň, Vladislav (advisor) ; Dědek, Jan (referee)
Translation memories are becoming more and more popular with professional translators nowadays, especially in fields of software localization and translation of technical and official documents. Although commercial systems, which employ memory translation, provide some limited capabilities for automatic checking of translations, these are mostly of simple search-and-replace type. And none of these systems provide reasonable means of applying Czech morphology while checking. Professional translators could benefit from an automatic tool, which would provide more advanced rule-based checking capabilities, taking Czech and even English morphology into the process. Checking not only for correct use of terminology, but also for illicit translations and use of forbidden terms would be useful. This thesis investigates types of mistakes translators tend to make. Review of existing solutions for automatic translation checking for different languages is provided. An application is then suggested and developed, which attempts to search for some of the most frequent mistakes made in translations into Czech language, taking morphology into account while searching.

Innovation of built-up crankshaft for minibike engines
Doležal, Lukáš ; Mazůrek, Ivan (referee) ; Hanuš, Stanislav (advisor)
The present diploma thesis deals with innovation of built-up crankshaft of Blata minibikes. Minibike is the type of a small two-stroke motorcycle equipped with an internal combustion engine of the volume 40 or 50 cm3. The machine is designed for racing circuits; not only for young riders but also for seniors. The innovation is in the design and verification of pressed connections in the imposition of major pins in the arms of the crankshaft. Pressed connections are designed on the basis of the analysis of force interaction on the crankshaft at maximum revolutions. The proposed solutions are verified by FEM calculations. Based on the results, the best option is selected. For the selected option, the impact of force interaction at maximum machine performance is studied. Finally, on the basis of these facts, designing, technological and economic analysis of feasibility of new production technology is carried out.
