The possibility of the use of art education within environmental education

The main topics of my bachelor thesis are environmental education and art creativity. The theoretical part defines art creativity and describes its stages, marks and essence. Its principles and research are also outlined. In the thesis, art creativity is described in the context of art education. The attention here is paid to the principles in art education both from the didactic and pedagogical views. Other topics also include the applications and goals in art education or the dependence of art activities on the child's age. Owing to the practical part it was also necessary to describe the environment and functions of afters-school clubs and the relation between art education and primary school children. Another theoretical aspect is environmental education, mainly the questions of waste and its recycling. The analysed topics of art creativity, art education and environmental education are in a tight relation with the practical part of the thesis ? a project realized in Nové Hodějovice primary school after-school club. The practical rendition of the individual tasks created particularly for this bachelor thesis was to help the children realise the importance of waste recycling and, eventually, make them consider alternative use of waste in their leisure-time activities.

Aplikace externího benchmarkingu ve společnosti působící v oblasti terciárního vzdělávání

The object of the diploma thesis is the comparison of selected educational institute with the competitors operating in the tertiary education field, using the external benchmarking method. The theoretical part presents the basic terms related to the issue, especially strategic management, benchmarking, SWOT analysis, Porter five competitive forces analysis, but also the tertiary education sector. In the practical part there is performed a comparative analysis of six companies operating in the education sector. It concerns the following subjects: Brno Business School, Brno International Business School, Institute for Industrial and Financial Management, Prague International Business School, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava, University of Finance and Administration. The survey results are statistically evaluated through the tables and graphs with an accompanying written commentary. The objective of the diploma thesis is the comparison of six companies using external benchmarking method and thus to define the weaknesses of the company which is the subject of the thesis, based on five analyses. Subsequently, to propose recommendations to minimize these weaknesses in order to gain a stronger position in the tertiary education market and higher competitiveness.

The Developement of Art Creativity through Project Method

The thesis deals with general creativity and creativity development of adolescent children by the means of project method. Theoretical part describes creativity as a term, its factors and levels. It further characterizes these terms: creative activity, creation, creative thinking, brainware, and creative experience. Further it analyses creativity importance for an individual person and society as a whole. It also characterises creative type of personality, describes pedagogical creativity and offers ways and means of creativity support. Next part draws up creative thinking development possibilities and development possibilities of qualities important for creative personality development. Next chapter pursues project method character. It describes case-history, then it targets the project-problem relation, highlights project education effects and basic principles. It focuses on phases of the project process and project pattern overview. In following chapters school subject art education, its characteristic, its main goals, and art education pedagogy methods and forms are described. Artistic expression development and crises of artistic expression are described, too. The thesis further concerns leisure time, extracurricular education and its institutions, relations of leisure time, lifestyle and focus on social values. Last chapter considers adolescence. Practical part contains description of an art project, which is divided into several creative activities. This part is focused particularly on spontaneous expression of a group supporting.

The Image of Italy and Italians in the works by E. M. Forster and Henry James

For my diploma thesis, I decided to choose "The Image of Italy and Italians in the Works by E. M. Forster and Henry James." I selected this topic because my attitude towards Italy is very positive and also because it seems to me interesting to compare in what way the depiction of Italy and its inhabitants is different and in what way similar at these authors. In the introductory part of my thesis, I describe the role of Italy in the course of history. I mention the significance of this country and also its influence on people who visited it. I explain the important function of Italy during the "travel for improvement" that was a part of young English men´s education first of all in 18th century and that was called the "Grand Tour." I also point out the fact that various Italian towns were perceived in a different way. Prejudices and stereotypes played an important role in the perception of Italy, which I mention at the beginning of my thesis as well. Later on, I explain why the authors including Forster and James set the plots of their works in Italy. I present particular Forster´s and James´s works on this topic and I summarize the most important aspects of their use of Italian setting and characters. The comparison of the representation of Italy and Italians in the works of these authors is the goal of my thesis. At first, I deal in my thesis with E. M. Forster´s relation to Italy and with his works on the Italian topic. I focus on the roles and functions of Italy and on the Italian characters in these works that I subsequently compare. I use the same process at H. James. I similarly describe at first his attitude towards Italy and after that his works, the plot of which is situated in Italy or in which there are some Italian characters. I compare these works once again with the focus on author´s depiction of Italy and its inhabitants. In next part of my thesis, I compare the mentioned works of both authors. I pay attention to the Italian setting and to the presented art, then to the role of Italy in both authors´ works, to similarities and differences of Italian characters, to cultural prejudices, stereotypes and xenophobia in the works, and I also describe to what extent E. M. Forster was inspired by H. James´s works, during which I draw on Forster´s critical work Aspects of the Novel. I confront the information with some critical texts of other authors, as for example with an article by Kevin J. H. Dettmar and a review by Edmund White. At the end of my thesis I analyse film adaptations of Forster´s and James´s works with the Italian topic and I put them in contrast with the original sources, on the grounds of which they were made. I observe during these analyses the similarities and differences in the depiction of Italians and Italy.

Web-based application for Czech language e-learning

Lack of knowledge of the Czech language means a serious problem for foreigners living in the Czech Republic. Czech language should help them in communication, business, studying, but for some people it is also the necessary condition for obtaining a permanent residence. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement a web application that should serve as a source of learning the Czech language for foreigners. To achieve this goal, the thesis first deals with the analysis of the existing solutions for Czech language e-learning. A design of a web application, user interface and the structure of the database model is suggested based on the finishing analysis. After designing the web application, its development follows, in which the client/server architecture and selected web technologies including Laravel Framework, jQuery and MySQL database system are used. The output of this work is a detailed web-based application that provides an access to educational lessons, instructions and exercises for users, who need to improve in Czech language. They can test their knowledge and determine their skill level.

Memory game - the game like didactic tool in the process of education of visual art on the level of the primary schools and the primary art schools

This master thesis consists of two basic parts. The theoretical part which focuses on the definition and historical evolution of games from the point of view of their function in the process of pedagogy, and the practical part which is Memory game, created by the author. Games as a phenomenon, and their functions and importance within the context of the educational process at the level of elementary education, with a particular focus on art education are analysed in this master thesis. The developed Memory game by the author has a strong didactic accent, the goal of which is to mediate the area of visual art to students. The last part of this master thesis is a detailed description of the process of using the developed didactic tool during teaching and its graphical documentation.

Balance-related exercise as a preparation to cross-country skiing practice in visually impaired children

Title: Balance-related excercise as a preparation to cross-country skiing practice in visually impaired children. Objectives of the Thesis: The goal of this thesis is to test the possibilitiy of implementation of selected balance- related excercise in visually impaired children. Method: The testing pool consisted of six pupils attending the Special school for Visually Impaired Children between 14 and 15 years of age. Over the period of ten weeks, selected exercise geared towards the cross-country skiing was practiced with these students. The research method applied to measure students' indicators of balance before and after the excercise was an assessment of standing stability at the Footscan pressure table, as well as a walking test in terrain with blinded eyes. Results and Conclusions: This research has indicated the possibility of physical intervention in form of balance- related practice as part of the preparation before the cross-country skiing season begins. It has proven that selected balance-related excercise can be applied with no limitations during the physical education classes for visually impaired pupils. Educational specifics of pupils with autism

This thesis deals with educational specifics of autistic pupils. In the beginning, the author describes the elemental areas of disorders within the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and the basic methods applied on work with such disordered individuals. The thesis also briefly presents the system of education of pupils and students with ASD in the Czech Republic. The core of the thesis is constituted by a description of TEACCH Program, which is thought to be the most effective method within the work with autistic students. There is also a research attached to the paper, which is grounded on informations gained from teachers and parents of pupils of the Special nursery school, Special primary school and Special school of ELPIS, where the ASD pupils are handled according to the principles of TEACCH Program. The survey was made by using the method of structured conversation and there were six subjects of the research, six particular pupils. The aim of the research was to find out, how much the treatment in school and at home varies and how are the six subjects influenced by this differences. This Thesis deals with teaching methods in Health Education. To get you trough the problem more easily, it also contains characterization of the most used teaching methods, their classification and selection. Also there is a mention about alternative methods. There are many details about Health Education and it is also included elaboration of this educational specialization. Results of the research (which was specialized to used teaching methods) are in compare with subject matter of health education.
