The Specifics of a Nurse's Work at a Dentistry Surgery

The thesis deals with the work of nurse in stomatological departments. It covers topics such as hygienic and anti-epidemic measures, communication with patients of various typology in the field of prevention. The thesis aims to find out the specifities of stomatological nurses. The research was focused on the job content, communication and education of patients in terms of prevention. The thesis uses a qualitative analysis using directed interview according to a prepared structured questionnaire. The research group consisted of five nurses from stomatological departments in České Budějovice, who have had at least 10-year practice. Based on these interviews I created case studies and used them to make classification tables. The results showed that the job content of stomatological department nurse includes communication with patients, preparation of the stomatological chair, instruments and other equipment, assistence during stomatological interventions, technical equipment manipulation, stomatological deparment organization, keeping documentation, providing health and prevention education of patients or children´s parents concerning dental care. To be more specific about communication nurses mainly treat anxiety and fear of stomatological treatment. Patients coming to stomatological deparments are of various personalities and nurse must be able to communicate with them individually. A very specific communication is needed in case of small children and senior patients, where nurses use various tricks: ?metal finger,? Tell-Show-Do method, distracting attention, modelling, positive encouragement and keeping parents in the waiting room. Nurses participate in the education of patients although doctor still plays a major role in education. The thesis could be useful for nurses who consider their future career in a stomatological department. They are recommended to take a communication skills training before they start their own practice.

School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka

Theme of the diploma thesis is architectural study of school buildings in Ostrava. It combines a kindergarten, primary and secondary school – a grammar school. The school is situated next to the cultural cluster Černá louka in Ostrava – the new designed cultural center of the city, and also on the bank of the river Ostravice. The main idea is adaptation of the scale of school spaces due to children of a different age, an orientation of classrooms to south-east and at the same time to the river bank. The kindergarten is separated from service and volume of the school, the primary school and the grammar school are united in one two- and three-store building with an inner yard. The buildings are accessible for pupils from an entrance square near Černá louka, the entrance for public is situated on the new designed street connecting Černá louka and Nová Karolina. The complex offers also sport facilities, a gym, a swimming pool and exterior sport ground which is accessible from the cycling track along the river Ostravice. The exterior look of the buildings is based on the construction, the reinforced concrete structure from white architectural concrete, and is animated by shading panels from corten sheets.

The effect of investment in tertiary education on gross wages in the region Prague

The aim of this work is to determine whether and how higher education affects gross wages. The theoretical part focuses on the theory of human capital, especially investment in education. The theory posits that a higher investment in human capital leads to higher yield, higher wages. The validity of this concept will be tested on the group of respondents who entered the labour market at the turn of millennium. Concentration of candidates with tertiary education in this period has risen considerably, which could cause an imbalance in the labour market. The practical part is based on the work of Mincer (1974). I used Mincer Earnings Function as a basis to build regression model. Partial aim is to prove the declining rate of return on investment in tertiary education using Mincer Equation.

Twenty years of leisure education in the Czech and Slovak Republics (1990-2010)

The concept of leisure education has been in use in Czech and Slovak environment since 1990 as a new label for after-class education. Leisure education is perceived as a branch of education involved in valorizing the leisure time of children and young adults. No Czech or Slovak publication has so far provided its complex classification or an overview of its origin, development, aims, approaches and overall practical use. The aim of the paper is to provide an overview of perception and understanding of leisure time in the works of selected Czech and Slovak authors in the last 20 years. The authors? conceptions of leisure education are confronted with one another with the aim to grasp the main developmental tendencies, forms and current aspirations of leisure education. The paper deals with the various definitions of the concept of leisure education and related concepts. The paper approaches the concept of leisure education from the viewpoint of its position within the classification of educational sciences, from the historical point of view and from the points of view of the individual authors and university subjects.

Benefits of nursery school for Children with autism spectrum disorder in sel-care

The bachelor thesis concerns benefits of a nursery school for children with autistic spectrum disorder with focus on development of self-care. The thesis concentrates on characteristics of autistic spectrum disorders and it's interconnection with practical aspects of developing self-care skills in a nursery school. Individual chapters describe the definition, diagnostics and related triad of problem areas, the spectrum of individual autistic disorders and the most frequently used methods and strategies of training and education of childrenwith autistic spectrum disorders. The second part of the thesis provides space for individual areas of self-care, cultivated in the nursery school. Individual chapters demonstrate detailed descriptions of practising self-care habits and skills, applied in daily routines of the nursery school. The thesis bases on published works in the area of autistic spectrum, as well as on practical experience of the author, obtained in several years of practice as a teacher in a special class for children with autistic spectrum disorders in a nursery school. The creation of videotutorials for the University of Economics, Prague

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to acquaint readers with new possibilities of teaching by using information technology and its application, when making learning material. The main outputs of this thesis are video tutorials, which serve as an education support for the course 4IT110 Use MS Excel in business practice taught in the University of Economics, Prague. However, it may be useful to other students of different courses. The process of making tutorials is described from the very beginning by specifying methodology, creating model exercises, subsequent testing of tutorials by students and optimisation of videos according to their suggestions and comments.

Alois Toufar as an artist and educator

This thesis deals with a significant art teacher and painter Alois Toufar. It monitors progress of his professional activity with emphasis on the term "Brtnicky krouzek" as well as territory of Toufar´s not only professional activity. As opposed to all the other published and rather patchy works about Alois Toufar, this thesis essentially uses oral information sources, which in result give much more stereoscopic images about the life of Alois Toufar as a significant person in art education with not only regional importance. Expected benefit of this thesis is the improvement of current ability of children's speech and particularly mapping life and career of significant personality of art education, which is not too exposed today.

Balance-related exercise as a preparation to cross-country skiing practice in visually impaired children

Title: Balance-related excercise as a preparation to cross-country skiing practice in visually impaired children. Objectives of the Thesis: The goal of this thesis is to test the possibilitiy of implementation of selected balance- related excercise in visually impaired children. Method: The testing pool consisted of six pupils attending the Special school for Visually Impaired Children between 14 and 15 years of age. Over the period of ten weeks, selected exercise geared towards the cross-country skiing was practiced with these students. The research method applied to measure students' indicators of balance before and after the excercise was an assessment of standing stability at the Footscan pressure table, as well as a walking test in terrain with blinded eyes. Results and Conclusions: This research has indicated the possibility of physical intervention in form of balance- related practice as part of the preparation before the cross-country skiing season begins. It has proven that selected balance-related excercise can be applied with no limitations during the physical education classes for visually impaired pupils. To Use the Waldorf Pedagogical System in Free-time Activities, or Is It Possible to Use the Waldorf Pedagogical Educational System in Scouting System?

The topic of my work: to use the Waldorf pedagogical educational system in free-time activities, or is it possible to use the Waldorf pedagogical educational system in scouting system? This is the reason why in my work I am trying to compare the approach of Steinerov's pedogogical system and scouting methods in upbringing children. The goal of my work is to find compatable elements and different disputes of both systems and by this find out if it is possible to apply the Waldorf system in scouting practices. My work, most of all is based on long terms work and experience in scouting groups and the Waldorf systems is based on theoretical information found in professional and available literature. I deal, mainly, with children's current wishes and demands for free-time activities, and hence at the same time I am trying to find a possibility to modernize scouting upbringing and practices in order for the center to be more interesting especially for children. One of the possibilities I see is found especially in this form of educational system. After stating the requirments for free-time activity I try to completely characterize the current methods, individually important of the area in preactice.
