Kovaříková, Kateřina ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Kucharská, Anna (referee)
This thesis deals with the acquisition of spatial relationships in infancy. It is conceived as a theoretical analysis based on a literature search. The framework of this study is a construction of space described in Jean Piaget's monograph Child's Construction of Reality (1955). The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part consists of the interpretation of Piaget's conception of the development of the permanent object, the group of displacement and the construction of space. The second part is based on the view of Reneé Baillargeon as a representative of another theoretical approach in the field of cognitive development. Baillargeon insight into spatial relations enables to review Piaget's theory in the new context. The aim of this thesis is to get to know Piaget theory of the construction of spatial relationships. The goal is to extended knowledge derived from Czech translations of Piaget and to compare it with adequate theoretical partner found by literature search. The study is focused on the Piaget's sensorimotor stadium, i.e. on children till the age of two years.

Krčmová, Lenka ; Solich, Petr (advisor) ; Šatínský, Dalibor (referee)
DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF HPLC METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF RETINYL ESTERS IN HUMAN SERUM USING MONOLITHIC COLUMN Absorption test of vitamin A is used for monitoring of intestinal permeability and may represent a sensitive indicator of intestinal damage. In this study, a simple and rapid reversed- phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) procedure for selective and sensitive determination of retinol, -tocopherol, retinyl-palmitate and retinyl-stearate in blood serum has been developed and used for the monitoring of intestinal mucosal damage in cancer patients treated with cytotoxic drugs after absorption test of vitamin A. The HPLC instrumentation Series 200 LC from Perkin Elmer (Norwalk, USA) with diode- array detector (DAD) was used for the analysis. Separation of retinol, -tocopherol, retinyl- palmitate and retinyl-stearate were performed using the monolithic column Chromolith Performance RP-18e, 100 x 4.6 mm (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany). The gradient elution was used at the flow rate 3 ml min-1 ; mobile phase methanol:water (95:5) in 0-2.1 min and methanol:2-propanol (60:40) in 2.1-4.9 min. The total time of analysis was 6 min. The injection volume of sample was 20 μl and analysis was done at ambient temperature. The detection of retinol, -tocopherol and retinyl esters was carried out...

In my dissertation thesis I tried to explicate the fundamental institutes of Islamic family law, according to modern and contemporary legislation in a number of Arab states. The family law is fairly exhaustively treated in the sacred book of Muslims, in Koran, albeit in a number of scattered passages, mostly in suras from Medinese period. These passages are defined with more precision by the prestigeous method of the interpretation of Koran, with so called taj<;ir and thanks to collected statements of the Prophet Muhammad and his companions, constituting the tradition, so called swma. And the modern and contemporary legislation is based rigid on it with some westernized elements. After a brief acquaintance comprehension of the personal statute in contemporary Near Eastern countries is described in detail. The next chapter contains the description of the sense of marriage in Islamic law in three aspects- legal, social and religious. It is a contract of civil law concluded by the bridegroom with the legal guardian of the bride, so called wali. After this I continue through the short characterization of conditions of the conclusion of the marriage, for example form and capacity, limitations to marry any person of the opposite sex, special time period cidda ... The following part of thesis describes dissolution...

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Science Department of Social Geography and Regional Development Robin Rašín The Landscape of the Czech-Austrian Borderland: Development and Heritage Summary Roztoky u Křivoklátu 2010 1 Landscape is a key geographical concept and geographical research on land change and land use has a tradition that can be dated back for almost a hundred years. The development of the subject orientation of land change science can be divided into two phases. (i) During the first phase (50's/60's of the 20th century) the description of landscape and its morphology (structure) were at the centre of research interest along with the research of the potential for agro-production. This particular type of study was motivated by the need to find a solution to the problem of the increasing inability to supply a growing (European) population with agricultural products. (ii) In the second phase (circa from 70's of the 20th century), the attention of scientists towards the accelerated rate of land change on a global scale that can be associated with: the increase of human population, changes in agricultural techniques, mining, environmental exploitation et cetera. There is an obvious need to solve the negative impacts of the human activities on the landscape at different scales (from local to...
