Urbánek, Marek ; Pantůčková, Pavla ; Křivánková, Ludmila
Development and application of the method of on-line combination of capillary isotachophoresis with capillary zone electrophoresis (cITP-CZE) for the determination of iodide in urine, seawater and in selected mineral waters.

Election Polls in Czech Republic: Methodological Optimalizations
Prokop, Daniel ; Krejčí, Jindřich (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
Bibliographic record PROKOP, Daniel. (2012). Election polls in the Czech Republic: Methodological Optimization. Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institut of Sociological Studies. Thesis academic consultant: Mgr. Jindřich Krejčí, Ph.D. Abstract The thesis focuses on the election-polls and prediction of election results in the Czech Republic. Using data of research company MEDIAN s.r.o. from face-to-face (CAPI) and telephone interviewing (CATI) in election year 2010 it examines possibilities of methodological optimizations which could lead to reducing systematic bias and discrepancies of pre-election polls the election results. In particular, it discusses these methodological solutions: mix-mode data collection (combination of CATI and CAPI), data weighting focused on specific factors correlated with voting behavior, including preferences of undecided voters, prediction of the respondents' participation in elections, election-polls results time-series smoothing. Based on these analyses the thesis tries to articulate general findings which could be fruitful in discussion about Czech election-polls and their methodology in general. In the thesis, basic and advanced statistic methods (CART, exponential smoothing, etc.) are being used to achieve given research goals. Keywords: election...

Individualization of Training Process in Ice-hockey Annual Training Cycle
Vrzal, Milan ; Perič, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dovalil, Josef (referee)
Thesis name: Individualization oftraining process in ice-hockey annual training cycle Thesis aims: The aims ofthis thesis are: analysis of individualization possibilities in training process in ice-hockey annual training cycle rationalization of the use of training individualization for individua! performance factors ofeach athlete in ice-hockey to integrate the individualization into annual training cycle and its practical aplication in compact form. The thesis should refer to the importance ofthe training process individualization in ice- hockey, even thought it is a collective sport. Methods: Qualitative analysis of competent documents addressed to individualization in sport and motoric activities was carried out. Next followed qualitative analysis ofpossible reasons for individualization and on this basis practical and teoretical findings were applied into an ice-hockey player training process. An individualization model for ice-hockey annual training cycle was made for coaches needs. Results: The result is a summary of aplication possibilities of training process individualization in terms of annual training cycle. Keywords: Ice-hockey, Individualization, Optimalization, Qualitative analysis, Performance factor, Sports training, Stimulation, Annual training cycle . 4

On optimal location of bins in a production line
Volf, Petr
The report deals with a particular problem of optimal production line configuration. Namely, in case that times of operations in a serial line differs, which can be caused also by random failures of devices, we study how stock bins located between operations can increase the line performance. The objective is an optimal bins selection, either by computations (precise or approximate) or by Monte Carlo method.

Optical Set-up for Small Volume of Liquid Surface Tension Measurement
Hošek, Jan ; Studenovský, K.
The goal of the presented work is to optimize the experimental set-up of the end-tip meniscus planarity observation and detection in the case of Furgeson method for small volume of liquid surface tension measurement. A new, compact and sensitive experimental optical set-up is designed for the meniscus planarity measurement.

Characterization and stabilization of pancreatin
Wurstová, Agáta ; Němcová, Andrea (referee) ; Obruča, Stanislav (advisor)
This work focuses on a study of enzyme mixture pancreatin, its characterization and subsequent encapsulation into liposomes. As a reference proteins bovine serum albumin and trypsin were used. Characterization of pancreatin consisted of two parts. The first part focuses on optimization of methods for the concentration determination by absorption spectrophotometry using basic methods for identifying proteins (Biuret method, Hartree-Lowry method and Bradford method). Moreover, UV spectrums of the protein were measured. As a method for identification of protein´s molecular weight, SDS-PAGE was used. To identify components of pancreatin, LPLC was employed in two modifications, ion-exchange chromatography and size exclusion chromatography. The second part is dedicated to the characterization of pancreatin as enzyme in terms of pH and temperature optimum for the enzyme activities of protease (pH 9, 8 and 50 °C), amylase (pH 7 and 40 °C) and lipase (pH 7 and 50 °C). The last part of this work aimed at an encapsulation of pancreatin into liposomes and DLS analysis of distribution of particles and their zeta potential. Liposomes did not spontaneously release encapsulated enzyme. To confirm that proteins were successfully entrapped into liposomes, their structure was disrupted by application of phospholipase D. In conclusion, liposomes can be utilized as delivery systems for native enzymes.

Parallelization and Optimization of Image Processing Applications
Šiška, Jakub ; Seeman, Michal (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis was performed during a study stay at the École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Électronique et Électrotechnique Paris, France. It proposes solution for speeding up image processing algorithm and its adoption for use with real-time video stream from the infra red camera. The first part discusses characteristics and basic principles of the IR technology, followed by specifications of used camera. Ongoing text also proposes solution of problems concerning network communication with the camera. In addition, it describes camera's output stream format characteristics and solution for output visualisation. Substantial part of this work covers issues concerning parallelization and optimization of video stream and image file data processing. Problem of the parallelisation for this case is explained together with implemented parallelization method. Entire theoretical part is supported with the real results, benchmarks, which are presented in the last chapter.
