Observance of sleep hygiene among nurses and students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies
CHMELÍKOVÁ, Petra
Currently, due to a hasty lifestyle, sleep hygiene is a very frequent topic. Inappropriate sleep hygiene often causes insomnia and other sleep disorders. The survey shows that the nurses working in the hospital do not observe sleep hygiene rules whereas the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies do. The most frequent factor preventing the nurses from the observance of the rules of sleep hygiene is the three-shift operation. The most common fault interfering with sleep hygiene rules among the students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies are bad thoughts before they fall asleep. The objectives of the thesis were fulfilled. Three hypotheses were proved, only one hypothesis was disproved.

Katovská, Jitka ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (advisor)
The institution of St. Paul 's Hospital in Prague belongs to social-charitable institutions that had taken care of the needed poor, ill, old, widows and orphans in the early modern period. The history of St. Paul 's Hospital had taken place in the area behind Poříčská brána and after the thirty year 's war in so called Temple. Certain amount of information, explaining not only economic and administrative functioning of St. Paul 's Hospital but also the history of day-to-day activities of the inhabitants, has been preserved in the hospital books in the Archive of the capital city Prague. The diploma thesis analyses material background of the hospital, the system of hospital donations, the administrative organisation with an accessible list of hospital clerks, and the quantity of care that the hospital was offering. In the list of the history of St. Paul 's Hospital there is also enumeration of duties and rules that had to be followed in order to stay in the hospital as well as references to the conditions and reasons for the admission of hospital applicants. The comparison with St. Catherine 's Hospital in Regensburg, which is unique for its parity functioning and both catholic and evangelic patients care, brings interesting evidence for the fact that Czech and German institutions do not differ in the basic...

The lords of Lobkowicz and Hassenstein in the late middle ages
Gavenda, Lukáš ; Doležalová, Eva (referee) ; Bobková, Lenka (advisor)
The modern prince family of Lobkowicz243 has its roots in North Bohemia several hundred years ago. This diploma work deals with the general history and cultural meaning of this family in Late Middle Ages, concretely in the course of 15th century and at the beginning of the following century. This work consists of three chapters. The first one is concerned with the history of the Lobkowiczs in its first five generations (14th-16th centuries). Rare information about the first known members of the family are dated to the end of the rule of the Emperor Charles IV. The Lobkowiczs belonged to lower nobility and were known as lairds of Újezd.244 Martin (commonly Mareš) of Újezd had three sons: Blaze (Blažej or Blažek), Wenceslas (Václav) and Nicolas (Mikuláš). The oldest Blaze died early and Wenceslas was a priest, so it was only the youngest son Nicolas who could secure the maintenance of the family. Nicolas of Lobkowicz, a man of high intellectual skills, a talented diplomat and politician, gained confidence of Wenceslas IV, King of Bohemia, and kept a close connection to the royal court. It was him who bought the village and fort Lobkovice in 1410, that gave name to the family. A few years later he had also gained the castle Hassenstein in North-West Bohemia and Hluboká in South Bohemia, which supported the...

Assemblying effect on cable lines quality
Dočkal, Martin ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
In the first part is explained what actually a structured cabling is. Its beginning, from what and why it was created. Its history when at the beginning were applied unbalanced coaxial cables, those were later replaced by balanced cables. In cabling for TVs are still used coaxial cables. Balanced cables are according to type named UTP, STP, FTP, and so on. Whit growing popularity of this type of cabling and its wide spread application was necessary to set some rules, standards, specifications and demands, how to build up the cabling from project to realization. According to these rules is the system built so there are strict rules for length of subsystems and interfaces and the whole appearance of the structure cabling. Next important point is projecting of cabling that is related to the previous points and when it’s finished, we should strictly follow it. With the project is closely connected characteristic of this cabling as attenuations, cross-talks and other transmission parameters which are measured in the practical part. In the second part is spoken about all the parts of which the structured cabling consists - metallic and optical connecting elements and cables. There are also mentioned their mechanical, electrical and transmission features. In the third part is described influence of man on the quality of structured cabling and the most common causes of lower quality and the ways how to prevent this from happening and how to manipulate with cabling not to destroy it. The final (fourth) part considers the measurement. There are measured qualities of metallic wires as the attenuations, delay, cross-talks on the near- and far-end, impedance and resistance. To all the features are mentioned schemes of the measurement on the twisted pairs. The measurement is divided into two parts. In the first part are measured five types of balanced cables of different length, category and damage influencing quality of these cables. In the second part is measured one balanced cable if it’s corresponding with category 5 for that t was made and if it would be possible to use it also for higher category 6. Values are tabularly sorted in tables.

Principy alternativní stavby příběhů
Marinović, Ivan ; Bregant, Michal (advisor) ; Roraback, Erik (referee) ; Jech, Pavel (referee)

The reception of Prophet Elijah by means of the Carmelitan spirituality
Kristian, David ; Mikulicová, Mlada (advisor) ; Kohut, Pavel Vojtěch (referee)
RECEPTION OF PROPHET ELIJAH BY MEANS OF CARMELITAN SPIRITUALITY Summary Prophet Elijah was active mainly in Trans-Jordan in the 9th century B.C. He lived in the time of economic, political and religious disorders in the Northern Kingdom, as the faith of Israel in God JHWH was in danger from Baal cult, promoted by the Phoenician princess Jezebel. The Old Testament, and this work, describe the following important events from Elijah's life: the prophet's hide near Kerith, his stay with the widow of Zarephath, his struggle with Baal's priests on Mount Carmel, followed by cease of a long period of draught, Elijah's journey to Mount Horeb, meeting with the Lord on the mountain, and Elijah's ride to heaven. These events are mentioned because I consider them essential for understanding the spirituality of the Carmelite Order that has Elijah for one of its models. The Carmelite Order derives its existence from a community of hermits on Mount Carmel, who saw in the prophet Elijah archetype and model for religious life, and who received their rules from Albert of Jerusalem In the first years of the 13th century. Prophet Elijah was inspiring also for great Carmelites as St. John of the Cross and St. Therese of Avila, who named Elijah Father of the Carmelites and saw in him model of contemplative prayer and following...

Traditional indonesian theatre
Čičmanová, Diana ; Vozábová, Jana (advisor) ; Malíková, Nina (referee)
This master´s thesis deals with traditional Indonesian theatre and has an emphasis on puppet shadow theatre (called wayang kulit), which can be seen on the island of Bali. Theatre is very sacred in this Hindu enclave and it is primarily not performed for people, but for gods. It includes many symbols and philosophic advice - it also has many rules which the puppeteer has to respect. Various principles do not only determine the process of a performance but also, for example, show how to manufacture puppets or train young actors. It is a wonderful and poetic theatrical world, which is unknown to us.

Application of Combinatorial Auctions on Public Procurement
Kohoutová, Adéla ; Fiala, Petr (advisor) ; Borovička, Adam (referee)
The public procurement draws a lot of attention in terms of treatment with public resources. Unfortunately this attention has mostly negative character. The aim of this Diploma Thesis is to bring an untraditional overview on the processing of public procurement and introduce one of the modern ways of using auction mechanisms. Combinatorial auctions can, as it already happened in other areas, open new possibilities for contracting authorities and bidders who participate in procurement conducted in accordance with Czech legislation. Also this Diploma Thesis can be the inspiration for thought if the current rules for public procurement are in accordance with the best interests of contracting authorities and bidders. In order to present the application of combinatorial auctions on public procurement the mathematical model based on partially real data was compiled in software Lingo. The results of such model were used as the source for the effectiveness analysis of discussed topic.

Joseph Soloveitchik's philosophy of religion
Lyčka, Milan ; Sobotka, Milan (advisor) ; Karásek, Jindřich (referee) ; Sláma, Petr (referee)
Joseph Soloveitchik (1903 - 1993), rabbi and philosopher, one of the most important representatives of modern Jewish Orthodoxy, has made an attempt to translate traditional Jewish religious concepts in the language of modern science and philosophy. As a philosopher, he was versed in the Neo-Kantian philosophy of the Marburg School, as a rabbi he was under the influence of the so-called Analytical School, founded in Eastern Europe by members of his family. From the philosophical heritage of Neo-Kantianism he adopted the emphasis on the pureness of thought, understood as mathematical and scientific, and from the direct Kant's inheritance he endorsed particularly his a priori concept of pure forms of sensible intuition and cognitive categories. The Analytic School affected him through their emphasis on a non-historical analysis of religious concepts, leading to their deeper knowledge, and in the same time establishing a new relation to the Transcendent. In this way, Soloveitchik has rehabilitated religion as a noesis and aimed at its philosophical reflection. The central notion of his religious philosophy is halakhah, traditionally conceived as a set of norms and commandments ruling the life of a practising Jew. In Soloveitchik's view the halakhah has become a philosophical concept, a hermeneutic key to the...
