Vosmanská, Jana ; Menclová, Věra (referee) ; Kalivodová, Eva (advisor)
Sládek's American experience influenced all fields of his work. This thesi s analyzed Sládek a s a publisher, editor and translator, i t also focused on hi s correspondence and essays. Sládek admired America and strived for national confidence in our country a s well. The enthusiasm about America was j oined by Sládek' s de sire for hi s homeland 1 for freedom in Czech lands; generally1 for the improving of Czech situation. In his correspondence 1 Sládek wrote more about his physical problems and pains and he mentioned more negatives of American life. We can find there also more Sládek's own negative opinions. As far as the essays are concerned1 I focused on two of them: "Ústava Spojených obcí severoamerických" ("The Constitution of U ni ted States of America") and "První století severoamerické republiky" ("The First Century of the North-American Republic"). Also, I looked at Sládek's activity in Lumír (a Czech magazíne of 19th century) 1 where I was trying to find which translations Sládek published there. Finally1 Sládek as a translator is very sensitive to the relationships between poetical form and content. Though 1 we can say that his tendency is to nivelize the intensity of romantic dramatic expres s ion. On the other side 1 hi s translations of poems that resemble songs are perfect.

Koblížková, Petra ; Kubálková, Markéta (advisor) ; Topolová, Ivana (referee)
This thesis explores the sources used by headhunting companies to find suitable candidates. In the first chapter it will be explained how headhunting companies work and what are the best companies in the Czech market and in the world market. The most important sources used by headhunters are described in detail in following chapter, whereas the sources were divided into two groups (active and passive) based on the attitude of the candidate -- whether he or she is actively looking for a job. The survey, in which the author examined the most used sources used by people that are looking for a job is described in the third chapter. This chapter is followed by a description of how to proceed when the candidate wants to make himself attractive to a headhunter and how to keep his attention. The outcome of this work is a recommendation of sources that should be used for search for candidates at different position. The recommendations are based on a comparison of results from survey and the methods used by headhunters.

The Role of Nurse in the Prevention of Disease of Civilisation
PAVLOVÁ, Martina
The current state Prevention is a complex care of a patient when we are trying to prevent from the occurrence or development of a disease, or when we want to prevent from its consequences and mitigate them. Recommendations for prevention set by a doctor must be on a scientific basis, and they must be a part of all branches of medicine. Their effectiveness depends on the cooperation between patients and medical staff. The basic and most efficient method of prevention is the health promotion and health education, which is closely associated with it. The term health promotion involves a set of activities and precautions for the purpose of making health better and sustaining it. Diseases of civilisation (hereinafter "DoC") are groups of diseases which are distinguished by their association to our lifestyles. Human body is more and more threatened from unfavourable influences of external environment, such as the quality of atmosphere, work environment and environment itself, the lack of physical movement, unhealthy diet, smoking, and alcohol consumption. The list of diseases of civilisation varies and changes together with our society and the development of our lifestyles. Among the most common or frequent diseases of current time are cardiovascular diseases, which involve atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke, coronary artery disease and obesity. Furthermore, between civilization diseases include diabetes mellitus type 2 or cancer, etc. The goal of the thesis There are two goals set for this paper. The first goal was to find out what the role of a nurse in the prevention of diseases of civilisation was. The second goal was to find out what the above mentioned role of a nurse was from the point of view of patients. Methodology For the purpose of the research part of this thesis, qualitative research using semistructured interviews was carried out. Respondents were divided into two groups; the first one consisted of eight nurses working at internal medicine and neurological department of the hospital in České Budějovice and a nurse working in a private office of a general practitioner for adult patients. The second group consisted of eight patients of the above mentioned health facilities. Results According to our findings, nurses and patients have different oppinions on the role of a nurse. Nurses in disease prevention see themselves as an equivalent to a doctor when undertaking this practice and giving guidance. The patient speaks only to the nurse who emphasized what they were told by the doctor and reiterated the main points. They make available to them leaflets and brochures or Internet resources. In contrast, most patients see a nurse as a more important source of information than the doctor. Patients have the feeling that the doctor does not have enough time or does not want to be botherd with questions. Rather the patient turns to his nurse, which they sees as more appropriate and someone to whom they can confide in without bothering. Summary The goal of the thesis was to focus on prevention, DoC, and the role of a nurse in the prevention of such diseases, as well as to study this issue, look at it from the point of view of patients and nurses via the interviews carried out in this paper, and to analyse such information. Based on this analysis are published recommendations for nurses and patients.

Experiences of health workers with acupressure
ROUBÍČKOVÁ, Radka
The abstract of the diploma thesis is focused on the acupressure and its influence of backache of medical staff. We chose the theme of acupressure because it is a non-invasive treatment method which can be practiced by everyone in the comfort of the home and no aid is necessary to have, just the basic knowledge and training how to perform acupressure. Acupressure is not physically or time consuming and that is why it is considered as a suitable means as an additional treatment of pain and other health disorders. It can improve nursing care. The theoretical part deals with pain and pain of medical staff who are the highest risk group of backache in the lumbar region. The backache is the most frequent cause of incapacity for work. Furthermore, in the theoretical part we deal with acupressure, one of the methods of alternative medicine. For the processing of the theoretical part, we used the available foreign and Czech literary sources. The empirical part of the diploma thesis is a quantitative method. The results obtained from the research were processed in the overview tables and case reports. For the thesis we set two research objectives. The first objective was to find out the experience of medical staff with acupressure. The second objective was to verify the influence of the techniques of acupressure for backache of medical staff. On the basis of the aim two hypotheses were created. The first hypothesis should show whether the backache will be softened by application of the acupressure techniques. The second one shows whether there is the difference in approach of nurses and doctors to perform acupressure.

Comparison of production and conditions of use of liquid biofuels in different countries
Semerák, Adam ; Pecen, Josef (advisor) ; Krepl, Vladimír (referee)
Biofuels production has experienced rapid growth in recent years. Many countries initiated legislative measures to promote their development, production and use in the transport sector. However, there are also growing concerns about the economic, environmental and social sustainability of biofuels, as well as their ability to truly meet the expectations of energy security. This paper attempted to point out the complexity and diversity of the production and use of liquid biofuels in the transport sector while using available information resources. More specifically, bioethanol and biodiesel which are most commonly used biofuels. Furthermore, he also tried to point out the diversity of characteristics and impacts in production and use of liquid biofuels, as well as the importance of consideration of the specific local conditions. That was examined from four perspectives of sustainability: technological, economical, socioinstitutional, and environmental. To illustrate the diversity and interdependence of the impacts of this whole issue two countries with very different human development indexes were selected. The Malaysia and India. At the basis of this paper the author concluded that for successful and sustainable production of liquid biofuels there must be taken into account all the factors examined equally. He also emphasized the importance of further research of this renewable energy source in terms of ensuring future energy security.

Opršálová, Šárka ; Salzmannová, Eva (advisor) ; Pleštilová, Miroslava (referee)
Emotion accompanies every human mental events, is as old as humanity itself. Emotion discontinues emotion, as soon as you create on it a clear and distinct idea. It leads to behaviour, while the intellect leads to conclusion. When emotion prevails, brain can not do much. Actor has to be able control his emotion! I would like to draw near the very meaning of emotion in my work. I suspend the other meanings associated with it.Where emotion is created, what helps me to process it and so-called filter it?
