Veselá, Markéta ; Macháček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vondráková, Zuzana (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of sustainable tourism development at the regional level. This phenomenon is elaborated on the example of Vysocina Region. To evaluate sustainability of its development, the potential of this touristic destination is researched regarding various areas, including key products. These are subjected to comparisons with recommendations of significant tourism organization for the purpose of assessing the sustainability of tourism. The diploma thesis also includes a comparison with other Czech regions experience as a touristic destination. Vysocina Region has favourable initial conditions for its sustainable development, especially regarding supply of key products, which include both environmentally friendly goods and cultural attractiveness contributing to the personal development of individuals and promoting intercultural tolerance. The main issue appears to be the spatial imbalance of its development in the region, caused mainly by the concentration of tourist activities to certain areas and low local initiative in the less attractive areas. The diploma thesis proposes a number of solutions, such as utilization of geocaching and products of gastroturism, supporting the foundation of local destination management organisations, promoting cycling tourism and the foundation of highly visited tourist destinations.

Characterisation of the cell line TRAMP-C2 side population, mouse model of prostate cancer
Žlabová, Anna ; Reiniš, Milan (advisor) ; Šmahel, Michal (referee)
Side population is a minor subpopulation (SP) of some cell lines, exporting staining dye Hoechst 33342 out of their cytoplasm. It is discussed as a possible source of "cancer stem cells", "tumour initiating cells" or "metastasis initiating cells". However, broad literature suggest, that stemness and other privileged properties of SP are very variable between different cell types, cell lines and stage of disease. Cell lines TRAMP are the only widely available murine models for testing of prostate cancer therapy. We noticed in literature a mention about existence of 1-2% of cells constituting side population, but detailed characteristic have not been described until now. In this diploma thesis, we worked on characterisation of SP of the TRAMP-C2 cell line in comparison to other cells (nonSP). In the first part, we compared stem properties of SP and nonSP. We started with checking the existence of SP by its verapamil sensitivity. Using mRNA analysis, we showed that neither SP nor nonSP have increased c-Kit expression and that there are no differences in Bmi-1 expression. We found that SP is heterogenic mixture of CD24-CD44-, CD24-CD44+ and CD24+CD44+ cells, while nonSP is almost solely CD24-CD44+. We documented that SP and nonSP returned back to original SP ratio during cultivation. Then we showed on...

Plant biomass of reclaimed and unreclaimed heps of various age
Dvorščík, Petr ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Cudlín, Pavel (referee)
This thesis has been elaborated as a part of complex succession research on the Velká podkrušnohorská spoil heap near Sokolov (north-west Bohemia, GPS: 50ř13'34.695"N, 12ř42'6.627"E) . The objective of this work is to describe biomass development of reclamational and successional localities on a chronosequence example. Unreclaimed areas are represented by successional spontaneous vegetation with dominant Goat willow (Salix caprea) with an mixture of European aspen (Populus tremula) and European birch (Betula pendula). Reclamation areas are represented by forest planting of Black alder (Alnus glutinosa) mixed with Grey alder (Alnus incana). On this localities was quantify total biomass (above and below ground biomass of herb and tree layer). Data evaluation was performed using allometric equations formed on destructive analysis of the main tree types. There is not statistically significant difference betwen the recovery site methods. Keywords: chronosequence, biomass, succession, reclamation, spoil-heap, allometric

Cooperation with incomplete monitoring
Caisl, Jakub ; Bauer, Michal (advisor) ; Červinka, Michal (referee)
We approach the topic of provision of public goods in an experimental economic study using the Public Goods Game setting. We allow subjects to punish each other but vary the structure and amount of information they can base their decisions upon. We try to add to the current literature on reciprocity and study whether people are willing to punish under such incomplete information. Since punishment under uncertain conditions can be quite destructive in terms of welfare, this closely relates to whether people are able to provide public good themselves or whether they need some external assistance. In terms of public policy, this can add to the debate on when should government provide certain services and when it should be left to individuals. In terms of behaviour inside of an enterprise, our study could be well applied to problems that arise when teams work on a common project but some people free-ride on effort of others.
