Authenticity in the media World
Malaníková, Hana ; JIRÁK, Jan (advisor) ; HANČIL, Jan (referee)
The subject of my doctoral thesis is the phenomenon of the authenticity of people?s, specifically TV hosts?, public appearances in the media. The chief impetus, and the field of study itself, was my own experience of working at Czech Television for a year and a half and the necessity of placing that experience in the context of my theatre and teaching work.In the interest of preserving the most authentic possible testimony, the text is written in a narrative style with an emphasis on the subjective view of the author. In the introduction I set out the starting points from which I will explore authenticity in front of the television camera, along with the personal and social context of the phenomenon being studied. I describe the "rules of the game", i.e., the structure and concept of the text. Later I focus on the most significant contemporary views of authenticity, from the ideas of Jean-Jacques Rousseau to the theories of the social construction of reality of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann. From social scientific theories, I move on to the authenticity of actors on stage and an analysis of the discipline of Acting with the Inner Partner as a specific case of authentic existence in a public situation. In the third chapter I compare the theory and practice of television broadcasting from the perspective of an actor attempting to perform authentically in the role of TV host. In conclusion, I compare my original hypotheses with the conclusions I reached on my journey from the stage to the television camera and set out their potential significance for the study of authorial acting and authorial creativity.

Contemporary art after Late Photography.
Czanderle, Michal ; DVOŘÁK, Tomáš (advisor) ; JANOŠČÍK, Václav (referee)
In my work, I would like to close the term "Late photography". Personally, I believe that since the seventies we in the works of many artists find similar documentary strategies that relate to the concept of "Late photography". Currently, there is a certain exhaustion of this concept. For these reasons, I would like to focus on finding artists who suggest a new direction in photography while benefiting from a "photojournalist".

The position of women and "women question" in late Victorian and Edwardian society
Tumis, Stanislav ; Kovář, Martin (advisor) ; Skřivan, Aleš (referee) ; Halada, Jan (referee)
The position of women in British society at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was influenced by the traditional conservative ideas which allocated their place in "private (domestic) sphere"; these views continued to have in Britain considerable influence and they were moreover supported by the new ideologies of social darwinism, social maternalism or eugenics. At the same time the influence of representatives of liberal, democratic ideas, the so called new people advocating women emancipation in all spheres of life largely grew. It is not possible to perceive the end of Victorian and Edwardian era as a period in which the modern ideas on women position in society succeeded; on the contrary old conservative concepts though often in new context and another "more moderate" version had the support of the majority of British society, including women. The main reason why the feminists failed to enforce their radical claims at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries lied in the fact that women movement was confined largely to the liberal elites of middle classes and failed to obtain wider support.
