A false portrait of Beatrice Cenci and its influence on art and literature from 18th to 21th century
Polláková, Petra ; Konečný, Lubomír (advisor) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (referee)
This study examines the rich iconographic tradition of a painting by an unknown artist from the collections of Galleria Nazionale in Rome's Palazzo Barberini. The baroque picture depicting the bust of a young woman wearing a plain white robe and a cloth around the head in the fashion of a turban, was erroneously identified at the end of the 18th century as portrait of the Italian noblewoman Beatrice Cenci, who was executed in 1599 for complicity in the murder of her father Francesco Cenci. As Francesco had been jailed for many crimes and was known for tyrannical treatment of his family, general sympathy went out to Beatrice. She was admired for her beauty and the courage with which she faced imprisonment and torture. The dramatic case was exacerbated by a suspicion raised by the Cenci lawyer that Francesco had sexually abused his daughter Beatrice. Although this suspicion has never been confirmed, it brought Beatrice the aureole of a martyr. General fascination with the lot of the young noblewoman became a romantic legend at the time of Beatrice's imprisonment. In popular oral tradition it lived on for several centuries. In the middle of the 18th century the Cenci story appeared in a popular chronicle, Annali D'Italia, published by the Italian scholar Muratori. In late 18th century, a painting of a young...

Záleská, Lenka ; Bernard, Josef (advisor) ; Urbánková, Olga (referee)
This thesis treats of the HIV virus and its hazards. It is composed of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with the HIV virus, it clears up the history of its discovery and the ways of transmission. It also describes the development and classification of the HIV infection, makes clear the possibilities of therapeutics and emphasizes prevention. As one of the possibilities of prevention the peer education in the sphere of HIV/AIDS prevention is mentioned here. In the practical part the questionnaire is analysed which was filled in by students of the second and third years of several secondary schools in Česká Třebová. By means of the questionnaire it was found out how the students are informed of the HIV virus, if they know how to protect themselves from it, where they get information and who they would turn on if they wanted to learn something about the virus. Another point of research was to find out if the obtained knowledge is somehow reflected in the common life of the interviewed people and if they feel to be threatened by the virus. My aim was also to find out the students' opinions on some specific situations which are concerned with HIV, like for example having one-night affairs or taking drugs. Philosophy of Jaroslava Pešková
Rybák, David ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Krámský, David (referee) ; Schlegelová, Jaroslava (referee)
Our main theme in this work is the philosophical thinking of Jaroslava Pešková, one of the most important Czech philosophers. The problem, which we start with, is the situation of marxist philosophy in 50th and 60th of the 20th century and the position of Jaroslava Pešková in this period and in the Czech philosophy in general. Instead of summation of all the subject in her texts, we rather want to realize the "deep exploration" of the philosophical basis, from which Jaroslava Pešková thinks, and which is not visible at first sight, even for readers familiar with philosophy. This philosophical ground we see in the concept of human being, which is not only in the worldly relations (economical, sociological, political, juridical, psychological, biological etc. etc.), but has a relation to all of these relations. To this structure and its philosophical ground we are trying to take an acccss and to make it visible in our probes into the key themes of Jaroslava Pešková's thinking. The philosophical and ideological movement from marxist to phenomenological philosophy wasn't thematized by marxist thinkers such as Jiří Pešek, Jaroslava Pešková or Karel Kosík. Also this lap we are trying to fill.

Personal data protection in health care area: legal aspects of health care documentation with special regard to right of privacy of human being
Široká, Lucie ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Švestka, Jiří (referee)
Archiving and processing of personal data and its overall treatment in relation with medical care service is still an underestimated issue. Current situation is influenced mainly by the fact, that traditional, yet obsolete, paternalistic conception of relation between medical care provider and patient comes out of centralistic view on health care system that gave the provider (respectively medical staff), as the stronger side of this relation, almost exclusive powers over human (patient). Result of this phenomenon was a continuous and universal disrespect to the right to privacy and implying right to protection of personal data. Data relating to health condition of person were thought of as property of medical staff that got used to treat them at their will. All of this was happening within legal regulation that was far from being perfect. Significant and conceptual legal adjustment was set when ratifying Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine (n. 96/2001 Sb.m.s.). Convention persists on theory, that diagnosis in no more than law and thus human being is superior to interests of science or society. Current legal regulation of preserving personal data in health care area could not hold out any more due to accessing to the Convention. That is the reason why these days everyone has a recognized...

Chamber music - development of musicality and creativity
Klinecká, Magdalena ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Palkovská, Jana (referee)
This work treats of chamber music in several points of view. First, it deals with chamber music in itself; second, with its relation to the interpret; third, with its reference to the audience. Concerning the relation between the interpret and chamber music, we recognize different stages and levels of its prosecution - by children, pupils, amateurs and professional musicians. Further, we detect the impact of chamber music on a person listening to it. We find the positive influence of that music on diseased or handicapped people. We get knowledge of various competitions for chamber ensembles. In the end we acquaint with playing chamber music within my "initial" family and with an extract from arrangement of folksongs for children.

The Withdraval of Soviet troops from territory of Germany, Czechoslovakia and Poland
Kosová, Jana ; Litera, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Vykoukal, Jiří (referee)
The partial withdrawal of Soviet troops from Central Europe was a part of the process of reconstruction of the Soviet Union which was begun by the reforms of Mikhail Gorbachev. The Soviet Union in the second half of the 1980's took the decision to reduce the number of its military troops positioned outside the territory of the Soviet Union. However, the reduction did not automatically account to a complete withdrawal of Soviet troops. This dissertation is pursuing the withdrawal of the Soviet army from the territory of Germany, Czechoslovakia and Poland in the years 1989 - 1994. The change of regimes in the respective states led to the fact that the matter of Soviet troop withdrawal was a bilateral and multilateral affair rather than a unilateral act of the Soviet Union. This dissertation presents a unique comparison of the withdrawal of Soviet military units from three former satellites of the Soviet Union. It clarifies the reasons of their stay on these territories. It shows the negotiation process of each of the afore mentioned states with Moscow, and observes the coinciding arguments used by the Soviet negotiators and their counterparts. It describes the events surrounding the threat of interrupting the Soviet troop withdrawal. It compares the duration of the transfer of the Soviet army from...
