Šmahelová, Kateřina ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Holubcová, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis "Facilitation and inhibition of trunk and lower extremity muscles using different types of shoes -surface polyEMG assessment" describes basic knowledge about human gait. The work summarizes important facts about gait development, physiological pattems and about impact of shoe types on kinematics and muscle activity during walking. The aim of the study was to analyze activity of eight muscles of trunk and of lower extremities and also to assess basíc temporal-spatial characteristics of gait using surface poly-EMG and forceplate during barefoot gait and while walking in different types of shoes. The analysis was carried out in a sample of 18 young healthy women during level walking. Outcomes indicate that every tested pair of shoes changes temporal-spatial characteristic as well as activity of trunk and lower extremities muscles compared to barefoot gait. In some cases outcomes showed statistically significant difference. According to our conc1usions cause of it was especially the weight of shoes and the instability of ankle and foot while walking in high heels, toe post sandals and "tapky". Identification of the parameters of an electroencephalographic recording system

The effect of relaxation on affective stimuli processing
KOZOVÁ, Michaela
The main issue of this thesis is to analyze the effect of relaxation on visual affective stimuli. Relaxation influences emotional processing and related EEG response of the individual person. The thesis is divided into two thematic parts: the first on eis theoretical part and the second on eis empirical part. The first part deals with emotions as complex phenomenona. It describes topics as Affective events and Physiology and Regulation of emotions. Important chapter is devoted to the description of Relaxation techniques with focus on Imagination which is used in the experimental part of the thesis. The first empirical part of the thesis deals with experimental verification of the possibility to use relaxation in the unusual settings of a cognitive laboratory. The subsequent part describes EEG measure of brain activity related to processing of visual affective stimuli before and after relaxation. The data were statistically analysed using T-test with multiple FDR comparison. The data were suitable for ERPs - event related potencial analysis. The results of the study were compared with current neuropsychology knowledge.

Neuroeconomics: The analysis of consumer behavior and perception of TV spots
Červenka, Petr ; Chytilová, Helena (advisor) ; Máslo, Lukáš (referee)
The thesis deals with the detailed study of two television commercials of an unnamed energy company. The aim of this work is to determine whether people's subjective evaluation is similar or different to values that were detected during the measurement, after viewing each commercial and in subsequent in-depth interviews. A sample of 24 respondents, who participated in the research, represented the composition of the economically active population in the Czech Republic. These were people of various ages, a combination of educational attainment and an evenly balanced gender ratio. Neurological measurement was done through an eye camera, brain responses were measured using electroencephalography (EEG), and changes in heart rate, skin resistance and body temperature were measured by photoplethysmography. The resulting data ispresented in graphs indicating emotional polarity and activity. The results show that respondent's verbal evaluation of their perception of ads is not necessarily identical with the values that are measured by the devices. The thesis concludes by recommending how to successfully target the so-called end user who uses the services of the company.

The use of self-care deficit theory client CMP
PAULÍKOVÁ, Martina
Theory Stroke, a cerebrovascular disease, causes severe disability and failure of self-sufficiency for nearly of half of the patients. Nursing focuses on respecting the individuality of each patient, supports the return and consolidation of a good health, promotes self-sufficiency and searches for the needs of the patient. Conceptual model of D. E. Orem assumes the ability of each human to take care of self. Although partially, or not capable of self-care at all, it is necessary to fill up the deficit by nursing care. Objectives The first objective was to state the options to how to fill up the deficit of self-care by patienst after stroke. The second objective was to determine, whether the patient´s living environment has an impact the development of self-care. Research questions Q1: Does the home environment stimulate the acceleration of the return of self-care ability by patients after a stroke? Q2 : Does the respondent perceive the issue of own disability equaly as the surrounding? Q3 : Is it more beneficial for the patient to perform self-care with deficiency, or to receive perfect execution of it by others? Q4 : Does the patient perceive the subsequent therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy) as a faster way to return to sufficient self-care? The research part of the thesis was carried out by a qualitative survey, conducted as a individual semi-structured thematic interviews with respondents devided into two groups. One group consisted of patients after a stroke and a second group of caregivers. Total of 8 patients, 4 males and 4 females, were interviewed. The research was completed in three sessions, each at intervals of four to six weeks. The information received were processed by open coding method, analytical induction development of technology showdown and narrative analysis. Results Using data received from interviews with respondents it was possible to answer all the research questions. The first research question examined was, whether the home environment stimulates the acceleration of the return of self-care ability by patients after a stroke. According to interviews and objective evaluation, the domestic environment has improved overall condition and faster return to individual self-care. Although, aftercare provided enough nursing and rehabilitative care, patient very much appreciated mental stimulation given by the home environment. The second research question focused on whether the respondent perceives own disability equaly as the surrounding. The interviews showed most of the patients perceive their health and subsequent disabilities better than its surroundings. The third research question examined whether it is more beneficial for the patient to perform self-care with deficiency, or to receive perfect execution of it by others. The results indicated more benefits by performing own self-care, even with mistakes that encourage practising, thereby repeating and consolidating manners. Most of the respondents refused any help. The fourth research question focused on patient´s perception of the subsequent therapy (physiotherapy, occupational therapy) as a faster way to return to sufficient self-care. The interviews showed that the respondents did not realize the importance of aftercare, considered it to be routine and as a part of the treatment. Yet, increased physiotherapy activities results into a quicker adjustment of self-sufficiency. Conclusion The temporal evolution of self-sufficiency of patients after a stroke and the attitudes of caregivers are described in this thesis. The results are presented in a form of mental map. This might be used by the patients after stroke, nursing staff or official home caregivers and informal caregivers, as well.

Biomechanical studies of knee jointarthroplasty
Zděblo, Jakub ; Valášek, Jiří (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis deals with stress-strain analysis of the intact human knee joint and the knee joint after reconstruction using fixation plate. Finite element method is used to determine the biomechanical response of the knee under loading with the FE software Ansys. The three-dimensional finite element model is consisted of bony structures (femur and tibia) which were created using computed tomography (CT) data, articular cartilages and both menisci. Model of the locking plate (LCP) was created based on producer's technical guide. Three models of the knee joint with LCP fixation plate are created for three different sizes of condylar fragment based on the intact model. On all variants is applied loading corresponding to maximum loading in a gait cycle. The results show that reconstruction of the knee joint with locking plate has no effect on changing in contact pressure on tibial plateau.
