Financing of land consolidations - comparison of the prices of complex land consolidations in the South Bohemian region from their beginning until the recent time
JIRSOVÁ, Stanislava
I have chosen the topic of land consolidation, because I am working at the land office in České Budějovice since 1993 and - since 1996 - my activities there include budget planning based on contracts and subsequent invoice payments, all of those concerning land consolidation. In the first part of the thesis I am presenting an overview of land consolidation financing in individual land offices in South Bohemia since their beginning until the present time, including the number of land consolidations and sources of funds during 1993 - 2012. The second part of the thesis is devoted to comparison of prices of land consolidations in two comparable cadasters, Bošilec and Žabovřesky, where the difference between the instants when the contracts were signed is 9 years. The comparison results in an interesting finding that the price was lower in later realized land consolidation in cadaster Žabovřesky, which corresponds with the common trend in the country.

Budimanová, Michaela ; Oberfalzerová, Alena (advisor) ; Dubovská, Zorica (referee) ; Remešová, Blanka Michaela (referee)
The presented doctoral thesis called The Most Important Toraja Rituals and Their Current Form deals with the ethnic group of Toraja, who inhabit the province of Tana Toraja, located in the southern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The work presents Toraja culture with a focus on two of the most important rituals - funerals and weddings. The goal is to outline the original form of these rituals and to capture the major social and religious changes in Toraja society since the Dutch missionaries first entered the area of present day Tana Toraja at the beginning of the 20th century. The Dutch introduced Christianity to the Toraja people, who until then adhered to their autochthonous religion Aluk Todolo. Almost all of the Toraja people gradually converted to Christianity, though they did not fully leave behind their original customs. In this work, I advert to how much the newly accepted Christianity influenced contemporary Toraja rituals, with an emphasis on the shift in their form and meaning. The work is based mostly on the field research; I implemented the method of concentrated observation. I also conducted and recorded many interviews with local people. After returning from the field, I analysed all of the collected text, voice, and video materials. Based on its analysis and the specialized...

Klír, Tomáš ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Petráň, Josef (referee) ; Smetánka, Zdeněk (referee)
This doctoral thesis presents the study of the rural milieu in the Later Middle Ages and the Early New Ages, especially with regard to its economic and settlement aspects. As a useful source of specific information we chose enclaves of margins since they are connected with contrasting settlement situation. This contrast served us well as a starting point for a discussion of more general features. The dissertation is divided into four parts. The first part deals with general problems of intensive agricultural exploitation of margins. In the second part, we bring forward a concrete example and discuss agricultural systems, which were employed on the enclave from the Early New Ages, namely, on the aeolian sands near Sadská (Central Bohemia). The third part is devoted to the beginnings of the medieval settlements in this particular region. This part of our research we based on written sources. The subject of the fourth part is the analysis of all relief remains represented by the deserted medieval village Kří (near Sadská) situated on the aeolian sands. It was this deserted village, together with the interest in relief remains of medieval settlements hitherto preserved in the landscape, that gave incentive to write this dissertation. The broader temporal range of the topic was determined by two facts. Firstly,...

Jewish New York. Diversity of Jewish immigration waves 1820-1924
Zubková, Katarína ; Šedinová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee)
Jewish New York today is indisputably the center of the Jewish Diaspora. It is the largest and the richest Jewish community outside of Israel. Already since the beginning of the 201 h century it has had the largest urban Jewish population in the world. Nevertheless, Jewish New York is not only vast, but immensely complex as well. Jews were arriving in various historical immigration waves from different places in the world, each one of them preparing the ground for the next wave. The goal of my M.A. thesis called "Jewish New York. Diversity of the Jewish Immigration Waves 1820- 1924", was to identify the waves of Jewish immigrants that were transforming the city of New York and to describe the way they settled in, adapted and lived in New York. The time span is limited to the century of the mass migration starting in 1820 and ending in 1924 after the immigration restriction legislation was adopted. I was inspired by reading Jewish American authors such as I. B. Singer, Bernard Malamud, Philip Roth or J.S. Foer, particularly in specialized seminar conducted by Hana Ulmanova, PhD., at the Department of English and American Studies. The final decision to write about this topic was influenced by the fact that in 2007 I received a one semester scholarship at the Department of Hebrew and Judaic studies at New York...

The impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement on Mexico's economy
Novosadová, Aneta ; Čajka, Radek (advisor) ; Bolotov, Ilya (referee)
The bachelor thesis examines the impact of the regional trading group NAFTA on Mexico's economy. NAFTA united three North American countries - USA, Canada and Mexico, which was among the group members a country with totally different economic level. Therefore, from the very beginning it was expected that the agreement would have the strongest impact right on Mexico. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of interconnection of two developed economies and developing country on Mexico's economy and the level of fulfillment of Mexico's great expectations. I will mainly analyze the international trade of Mexico with both member states and the development of selected macroeconomic indicators. Also the importance of NAFTA in resolving the Mexican financial and economic crisis won't be neglected. The question remains whether during twenty-one years of existence of the agreement prevail positive or negative effects.

Theory of mind in preschool children
Hončíková, Dana ; Mertin, Václav (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
Theory of mind, an ability to understand one's mind as well as that of others, is a prerequisite for normal functioning in the human society. It helps us explain and anticipate other people's behaviour, enables us to share meanings and understand humour and forms a base for all social interactions. Theory of mind is the comprehension of human subjectivity - the fact that it is the representation of things, not their objective state, that determines human behaviour. The ability to attribute mental states develops along with the age thanks to the maturing of cognitive structures and acquiring experience in the social area. The most significant changes of theory of mind occur in the preschool age as the child masters mental verbs and begins to understand second-order mental representations. Most researchers conclude that an important change in the quality of theory of mind takes place around the fourth year of age. It is at this time that the child begins to realize the difference between the subjective and the objective reality, which leads to understanding that our representations of the world may not be always correct and depend on our access to information. That is why the researches focusing on the development of theory of mind use a method that examines the ability to understand the false belief - the...

Blažek, Jakub ; Dobiáš, Petr (referee) ; Brodec, Jan (advisor)
Name of the thesis in English: The real property acquisitions by the non- residents in the Czech Republic. This thesis tries to resume the development of the legal regulation of real property acquisitions by non-residents in Czech Republic because this topic became very important by the 1st of May 2009, when the first transition period of exemption from the free movement of capital within EU has ended in Czech Republic. At the beginning of the thesis I am trying to set up the topic from the view of the theory of International Private Law. In this part the thesis explains aspects of imperative law regulations which have to be applied every time, no matter which law rules the contract. Then the thesis explains the difference between obligation statute of the contract and effects of the contract on property rights, especially on the ownership transfer with respect to the regulations included in the Act on international private law. In next chapter the thesis summarizes the development of the legal regulation of real property acquisitions by non-residents before the Czech Republic enters in EU. This part simply describes and explains single Acts and other regulations which were in force in the past. In the following chapter the thesis summarizes the present legal regulation included in the Act 219/1995 Coll.,...
