The work is divided into two parts, a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part, they describe the curriculum document, RVP, school legislation and what is the trend in science education. The practical part is divided into quantitative research and qualitative research. In the practical part, the expected outputs from 82 school education plans are classified according to coding, and model lessons of natural history at five selected schools are also described. In the diploma thesis, information is written about subject plans and curricula, and whether teachers are used. Excursions on which teachers and pupils most often completed several hours of auditions and thanks to these auditions, I was able to see several different teaching methods. Learning styles of future Biology teachers and scientists
MALEČKOVÁ, Michaela
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of learning styles. The literature review describes the teaching and its conceptions, it works with the term of the teaching methods. The literature review characterizes teaching methods mostly used in biology education. Furthermore, the literature review explains the learning process, the approaches to learning, strategies, and tactics of learning. In the next part, the literature review deals with the learning styles and their classification according to the well-known authors. The last section of the literature review describes the diagnostics of the learning styles and methods that are used for detecting the learning styles. The results summarize the findings of a research study focused on the learning styles of university students. The research dataset consists of 187 cases that reflect the differences in the preferences of learning styles of future scientists and biology teachers and the relationship between a particular learning style and the favourite teaching method that students encountered at primary or secondary school. Furthermore, there were founded out the differences in the preferences of teaching methods and identified the reasons that had led the respondents to study science (biological) disciplines.
Inquiry-based Science Education in Human Biology
DEDEK, Michal
The aim of this work was to create three authorial activating practical exercises on the topic of the human circulatory and respiratory system. Teaching with elements of research-oriented teaching (BOV) in the experimental group and exposure-type teaching (common teaching) of the same topics in the control group was statistically evaluated on the basis of the results of the pretest and two posttests. The toss of the coin determined that class 8.A (19 pupils) would be the experimental group, class 8.B (18 pupils) the control group. The verification of the created documents took place at Loir secondary school level in April 2019, in the South Bohemian Region (the city with a population ranging from 20,000 to 40,000). According to pretests, the achieved results show worse average results in the class, which was randomly selected for teaching with BOV elements, the differences of average pretest results were evaluated by the student's t-test as statistically significant (t = 4.05, sv = 35, p = 0.00 ). Differences in the average results of the first posttest (entered one week after class) were evaluated as statistically insignificant by t-test (t = 1.28, sv = 35, p = 0.21), as well as in the evaluation of differences in averages in the second posttest (entered one month after teaching; t = 0.29; sv = 35; p = 0.77). The results suggest that the teaching of BOV motivated the class selected for teaching with elements of BOV in teaching and helped it to better learning the theme. The summary of the questionnaire, which was aimed at the pupils' comments on the actual teaching of topics, showed that the pupils of the experimental group had a better learning the theme, as they could also deal with the issue in practice. Statistically significant in both posttests for the topic respiratory system (p = 0.01; respectively 0.03), not for the topic vascular system (p = 0.10; resp. 0.19). This diploma thesis is created within the project GAJU 123/2019 / S.

Pupil's motivation to learn during distance learning
Topinková, Jana ; High, Radka (advisor) ; Duschinská, Karolina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of student motivation during distance learning. This form of education is becoming a common form of teaching due to the cyclical recurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the theoretical part, I focus on defining motivation as a key tool for student's learning, its distribution and selected theories. I focused mainly on the motivational theory the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and Murray's theory of needs. In addition to the general definition of motivation, I deal directly with the motivation of pupils in teaching. In the next chapter I mention the specifics of distance education and focus on its positives and negatives. And not only from the point of view of the cantors, but above all also of the pupils themselves. In addition to forms of distance learning, I also introduce readers to the most well- known platforms that enable distance learning. The practical part is devoted to a survey that I conducted last school year among my 7th graders. I analyze the obtained data on the basis of a group discussion with pupils, which took place in May last year. As a basis for this discussion, I used the stylistic work of students in which, from their point of view, they had to evaluate the pros and cons of distance education. I compare the obtained data with already...

This diploma thesis scrutinizes development of foreign language teaching methods as well as their conceptions and usage. The aim of this thesis is to provide a complex insight into the issue. The thesis works with a few hypotheses such as influence of age (of pupils as well as teachers) on choice of methods. Even more attention is dedicated to eclecticism and communicative methods which are believed to be predominant in today's teaching. The theoretical part is focused on explanation and clarification of methodologic terminology, all the methods and didactic approaches existing in foreign language teaching, which are presented chronologically. There are also influential psychological and linguistic movements important for development of the methods summarized. Then the research based on survey for teachers follows. This part explores which techniques, typical for particular methods, prevail in contemporary teaching. The aim of the research is to find out which methods and techniques are chosen by teachers and what factors influence their choice. The practical part functions as a sort of evidentiary test. There were designed two lessons for younger and older pupils which combine the survey results and authors personal teaching experience. The practical part shows if the preferences of teachers...
