Stimulation programs for preschoolers and children with postponded school attendance

The thesis is dedicated to stimulations programs for preschool children and children with postponed schooling. The work is divided into five chapters. The first few chapters are focused on the information which is necessary for understanding the topic. These are about a psychological definition of pre-school age, as well as the issue of entering into a school, followed by a chapter about diagnostics, which usually come before the stimulation. Another chapter is focused on the actual stimulations programs, it contains their theoretical description, but also the information needed to create them. In the fifth chapter, an example of stimulation program was created. Its functionality is supported by the observations at the beginning of the program and during the program. The aim is to make a guide about creating of stimulation programs in the frame of the preschool preparation.
Diagnosing school maturity

Annotation: Thesis characterizes contemporary nursery and basic school, direct basic methods and forms mutual cooperation these institutions and points out how to facilitate children the transition from pre-school to primary education. The methods which have used are method of observation and the structured interview. Observation was carried out on the selected nursery and basic schools. Interviews were realized with directors or executives these institutions and with experts from pedagogical- psychological counseling. The aim of the thesis was to find out how take place school enrollment in the current elementary schools, how the students are successful/unsuccessful, what are the most common reasons for postponements schooling. Thesis also shows that preschool children are able in a relatively short period of time of great expansion capability. Another aim was to determine the forms and methods of cooperation of individual nursery and primary schools. Work also points to the possible difficulties of children in nursery or later difficulties at the beginning of schooling. The work also highlights the awareness of parents and children regarding suspension of school attendance.
Problems of the school immaturity through the eyes of the primary school teachers

The aim of the diploma thesis Problems of the school immaturity through the eyes of the primary school teachers is to summarize in the theoretical part the existing knowledge of the literature on school maturity and school readiness and their controversy and then in the empirical part to find out what problems primary school teachers feel in this area and how they solves them. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part summarizes the key findings on the chosen topic, the practical part presents its own qualitative research. The research was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with primary school teachers. The interviews were then transcribed and analyzed through grounded theory. The analysis of the interviews revealed that the experience of teachers with the school immaturity of primary school pupils is very diverse. Most often addressing teachers met with the inability to separate the child from the parents and deficiencies in communication skills. Most educators most often mentioned an individual approach to supporting children not sufficiently mature for school. Use of the child's portfolio when enrolling in primary school

The diploma thesis is focused on the topic of using of children's portfolios, but especially focuses on children's portfolios as a possible diagnostic tool when enrolling in primary schools. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to find out what are the possibilities of using children's portfolios when enrolling in the first class and how teachers view the possibility of using children's portfolios when enrolling in the first years of basic education. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the topics of the child's transition from kindergarten to basic education, the implementation of enrollment in primary school in the past and today, as well as school maturity and preparedness. Knowledge of mathematics at the beginning of school attendance

The diploma thesis is focused on mathematical knowledge of pupils at the beginning of primary school. The theoretical part deals with characteristics of a preschool child and of a child at the beginning of a primary school, and especially with the specifics in their cognitive functions. Further the theses includes a chapter with an overview of several surveys about mathematical skills of Czech pupils. Finally, there is a chapter about building mathematical ideas at school and in a family. The practical part of the theses presents the results of the quantitative research in the field of mathematical ideas of a primary school child.

Preparation of preschool children for school attendance

The thesis consists of a theoretical part which describes the developmental period of preschool children between the fifth and seventh year and deals with the issue of school readiness, preparing preschool children to enter school, and with areas that are key success in school. In a practical part, skills and general knowledge of the specific research sample of children from kindergarten are tested. Consequently, practical exercises and opportunities to develop these children are proposed.
School Maturity Issues during Enrolment to School and after School Entry

The aim is to detect problem areas of school maturity of children at the time of school enrollment and after entering school, to ascertain which problems remain, and which problems are necessary to focus on, to prepare for school and during school enrollment. The theoretical part is devoted to the basic concepts, such as school maturity and its components, school readiness, school success, causes of school immaturity. The following describes the diagnostic possibilities of children's maturity for school, and the current state of the problem of school maturity of children and the most common reasons for the postponement of schooling. The practical part presents the results of mixed research, which was determined by the success of the children in various activities during school enrollment. Which were subsequently compared with the testimony of the first grade teachers about the abilities and skills of these children at the beginning of school. Based on these results, the research provided recommendations for the eligibility of a child for school attendance at school enrollment and suggestions to support troubled areas of school maturity.
