Photo diary

The main topic of this bachelor's thesis is the diary phenomenon, more specifically diary as a form of art or other visual form, such as photography. The purpose of its theoretical part is to briefly describe the general evolution of the traditional diaries and personal journals and subsequently deal with the diary as a specific form of art piece. This part also introduces Czech visual artists who used to work/still work with the diary phenomenon creatively - Vladimír Fuka, Jiří Kolář, Josef Jindřich Šechtl and František Skála. Theoretical part also deals with the new contemporary virtual forms of diaries such as personal websites, blogs and social networking sites, shows some of their specific examples (chosen from unique public social network profiles/accounts as well as from interesting online art projects). and describes generally the brief history of this phenomenon. The practical part of the thesis introduces author's own photographic diary project consisting of everyday photos taken to show personal feelings during her study stay abroad. Unified visual identity of schools

TITLE: Unified visual identity of schools AUTHOR: Martin Hejna DEPARTMENT: Information technology and education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Stanislav Lustig ABSTRACT: Bachelor thesis "Unified visual identity of schools" deals with a visual presentation of elementary and secondary schools. Theoretical part explains a subject of the unified visual identity of schools and describes fundamental parts and phases of the creation. This section is written in the way it can serve as a manual for a right creation of the unified visual identity. On top of that, current situation of schools in this regard is thoroughly described and compared with international peers. Empiric part examines the existence of the unified visual identity at elementary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic, the extent of a use, knowledge of this topic and potential problems with its creation. Research investigation includes 7 individual deep-dive with directorate of elementary and secondary schools. Web Information Extraction

In the present work we suggest and test new process of web information extraction. Proposed method consider DOM tree of the web page including it's visual cues. Basic and the rst part is semantic parts extraction of a page using VIPS algorithm. Next step is validation and eventual modication of gained information based on the local context. Final part is classication of analyzing page into predened classes using got facts. Set of critics implemented by congurable instances of neural networks determine the classes.

This part explores electronical materials of schools which can be a part of Corporate Identity and compares them with commercial entities. "Visual communication analysis. The case of contemporary European theatre posters"

The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and define basic principles of visual communication from the point of view of mass communication theory and classical media theory and to attempt to create a basic synthesis of these branches. The visual communication is currently dominating form of communication not only in advertising and marketing, but also from the point of purely artistic expressing, which nowadays abandons classical conservative techniques and searches for new ways of expressions. The focus on the diploma on European theatre poster, which is a factual synthesis of those trends, allows adequately assessment the relevance of media theory in relation to visual communication as a way of addressing recipients with the information given in a form of an image. The topic of European poster has been chosen to widely demonstrate the general acceptance of visual communication as a part of sociocultural discursion in a global sense. Another dimension of a theatre poster is its function in public space and the possibilities of the audience to accept the message in these surroundings. On the background of relevant media theory it will also be presented the position of contemporary theatre poster among new trends of mass communication. Visual aspect of local election campaigns in 2010

This bachelor thesis is titled Visual aspect of local election campaigns in 2010 and it concerns the visual aspect of election campaigns before elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2010. Text is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part introduces concept of the complex communicate and his specifics, describes cooperation between image and text, concerns photography as a mean of political advertising communication, manipulation, retouch, objectivity and perception of photographs. The practical part describes the visual aspect of election campaigns of five political parties: Czech Social Democratic Party, Civic Democratic Party, TOP 09, Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and Public Affairs. These political parties gained more than five percent of electoral votes and therefore they have their representatives in the Chamber of Deputies. Campaigns took place in spring 2010. Thesis focuses mainly on the outdoor advertisement like billboards, citylights, posters and leaflets. Campaigns are described in individual chapters with use of combination of methods of qualitative analysis based on Roland Barthes (Rhetoric of the Image) and Gillian Rose (Visual Methodologies). Learning styles of students of English in Higher Education

This thesis is concerned with learning styles of students of English at Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Its aim is to find out whether the students are aware of their perceptual learning style (auditory, visual, kinesthetic), which activities they use to encourage English language development (watching films or reading books in English, listening music, practising language on the Internet,), which type of environment they prefer and whether they are satisfied with teaching styles of their professors. A specifically made non-standardized questionnaire is used as a method of research. The thesis is traditionally divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with a profile of basic terms related to the topic, classification of learning styles and possible ways of their diagnostics. The practical part is focused on the analysis of questionnaire research, whose findings are graphically demonstrated in diagrams with comments.
