Hánlová, L.: The Human animal: Aggressive behavior of pupils in Art education /diploma thesis/, Prague 2011 - Charles University, departmentof art education, 135 s. (Appendix: student questionnaire, analysis of data collected by means of the student questionnaire, photographs of artwork made by 6th grade students) This research study is concerned with the problem of aggression among children in school. It is intended as a qualitative study; opinions of the schoolchildren regarding aggression serve as the main material for the research. This is considered on three levels: in nature (among animals), in society (among people) and also among the pupils themselves. The metaphor of the human animal is used to describe the aggressive behaviour of a person, as well as a starting attitude towards aggression. This is here understood as a naturally good quality of people. The study is presented as an active study of 6th grade pupils. I also hereby present the idea of the socially preventative didactic project in artistic education with the theme of aggression; thus also presenting its history and results. Sládková, Hana ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Pelánová, Anita (referee)
The "Art-critique work of Jiri Setlik and Czech art critique of the 1960s" text describes the approach, sources and method of Jiri Setlik, important Czech theoretician and historician of art and art critic. The text follows his work in three different periods of the Czech afterwar art and art theory (1950s and 60s, the normalization period of 1970s and 80s and after the 1989). The structure of the first part of the text follows these periods, that represent different enviroment, possibilities and inspirations, mentioning the important cultural and art scene events, practical background of exhibiting, art writting, journalism or pUblishing and other circumstances that influenced the approach, style and work of Jiri Setlik and his colleagues. For each period, several art-critical texts of Jiri Setlik are selected, that are representative of his style development and also situation given by the culture and politics of that time. The second part of the text defines the art-critique method of Jiri Setlik in context of the contemporary art-critique theory and practice of 1960s, which is considered the most influential until today. Visual Art in the Housing Estates of Brno (1945–1989)
Kořínková, Jana ; Bartlová, Milena (referee) ; Hrůša, Petr (referee) ; Chamonikolasová, Kaliopi (advisor)
With special attention being paid to the development in the city of Brno, the dissertation focuses on the issue of applying artworks in Czechoslovak architecture after World War II. The main research questions – Why were in Czechoslovakia after 1945 artworks again integrated in architecture and what strategies were applied in the case of the newly built housing estates in the city of Brno? – are answered in two successive sections. First, the institutional background for application of art in architecture in the light of the events in Brno (1945–1993) is examined; the closing part is devoted to three case studies that illustrate local development in the period of socialist realism, creative release of the1960s and political normalization. The aim is to highlight the complexity of the examined subject and refute a popularly handed down conviction that integration of artworks into architecture in the period of socialism was motivated exclusively by the communist propaganda, and to show that the attempts to create a synthesis of art and architecture were also based both on earlier theoretical considerations about the educational function of art and its effect on humans and the need to improve poor economic situation of artists after World War II.
Spatial plastic creation in Changing concepts of art education : ceramic art as a phenomenon of visual arts and art education
Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The Media Image of Visual Arts in Czech Television
Švarcová, Barbora ; BENDOVÁ, Helena (advisor) ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis consists of a context and textual analysis of Artmix, a TV show dedicated to visual arts, while touching on other relevant programs on Czech TV. The results of these analyses are then brought into theoretical setting primarily using the philosophical and social concept of the Field of Power as defined by Pierre Bourdieu in his book Rules of Art. Principal themes, interspersing throughout the text, are the limits of reflections of visual arts through TV screen and hidden interpretational patterns applied to visual arts through its media image. Furthermore there is an additional issue of traditional notions of an artist existing within our society, weighed down by history, or the quest for the ideal format of a TV show reflecting visual arts.

Zeya, Pyin Nyar ; JANEČEK, Vít (advisor) ; VOJTĚCHOVSKÝ, Miloš (referee)
No one can control a painter artist’s freely thoughts and ideas and although his paintings were under the high pressure and banned by force, the artistic value of his materials never go down. So that I am writing this paper. He, San Minn has broken out the mainstream of Burmese painting field, he never made business paintings as well. He keeps his belief on the art of paints and he is always finding for the new way to make his paintings. His materials are very different from other Burmese painter artists’ materials. His style is unique in Burmese paintings. So I can get a chance to study of his style, ideas, ways of thinking and his determination on the art works. My paper can show a painter artist’s life who grew up under the military rule for 50 years and the situation and history of Burmese painting field. Then not only people who are studying the painting subject, but also other people can know about the subject of Burmese painting and field of artists. I dare say that my paper must be colorful and fruitful. As a painter artist, it seems that he wants his audience to feel his materials but he rare to show his real life behind the pictures. For me, I can get a chance to know about his real life for my thesis paper. xxxxxxxxxx Thesis Statement My thesis can be useful for everybody who is interested in Burmese contemporary art field. This is the biggest chance to read about one of the most famous, important and significant artists and art movements of Burma. His paintings are reflecting his journey through over 40 years of censorship, but he was not afraid to tackle political and social issues. Many of San Minn's art works are based on autobiographical, making sharp social commentary on the popular culture, social values and scenario circumstances where he has lived in. xxxxxxxxxx

The theme of this work is Art school in Brno. Location Kraví hora, Brno, Veveří was selected as a building site for this theme. Near the given site, there are private gardens on the North, tennis courts on the South, Building Z of the Faculty of civil enginering on the East and on the West, there is the Observatory and Planetarium located in the public park called Kraví hora. The main idea of this project, was to create masses using geometry - creating three objects - with the shape of circular sectors, which came up by intersecting a few different circles end ellipses. An arrangement of these objects with the amphitheater in the middle realy enhance the cascade terrain.
