The salary level of teachers in the Czech Republic and its impacts
Kinzlová, Kateřina ; Pertold-Gebicka, Barbara (advisor) ; Korbel, Václav (referee)
The aim of the present paper is to examine the salary level of teachers in the Czech Republic and its possible impacts on the teaching workforce. It has been shown that teacher salaries are substantially lower than salaries of similarly educated workers in the Czech Republic and are among the lowest in the European Union. Because of the strong link between salary level and profession's attractiveness to young graduates, there have been concerns about low interest in the teaching profession and the high dropout rate for young teachers. Using most up-to-date data available, the paper shows that there has been positive development in teacher salaries in recent years, but that the raise is of a similar scale as that in other areas. The paper builds up an analysis of the dropout rate for young teachers based on data on the teaching workforce. The paper finds that the dropout rate is very significant and may result in teacher shortages in the near future. The current data on teacher salaries highlights the importance of their improvement as a major factor of change in order to increase the attractiveness of the teaching profession.

Relativity of Grading at Primary School
Švarcová, Kateřina ; Voda, Jan (advisor) ; Uhlířová, Jana (referee)
The thesis is concerned with the relativity of marking at primary school, aimed to subjectivity in evaluation when rating the pupils' work in the Czech language. The theory is focused on evaluation generally - its functions, types, forms. In the theoretical part there is mentioned, what types of assessment are believed to be the first- quality ones. Two chapters are devoted to objectiveness and fairness in the evaluating, too. This thesis contains several paragraphs about the embedment of evaluation in the law. The target of the research was to find out, if the teachers interpret the pupil's performance differently and what criteria are taken into consideration. I want to alert to the huge amount of subjectivity when rating with marks. The teachers were given the same simulated piece of a pupil's work. Their task was to correct it and to mention what was an influence on their evaluation, the given mark. The half-structured dialogue was the chosen method for the research. The thesis confirmed the hypothesis that the evaluation through the marks is burdened with a high measure of subjectivity. That is to say, that the teachers marked the work very differently and their evaluation was grounded on various criteria. KEYWORDS evaluation, marking, subjectivity, teachers, criteria, difficulty

The risk behaviors of high school students
KOPTYŠOVÁ, Monika
The bachelor thesis deals with problem behaviour of young people. Ad they grow up, many teenagers have to face a behavioural disturbance, either as a person affected by such problem or as a witness of social pathologies. The causes and the development of problem behaviour might be different. The research project analysed the relation of problem behaviour of young people and the economic status of their family. It analysed the basic traits of problem behaviour of the respondents (such as experience of respondents with police investigation, the presence of feelings of social inclusion or exclusion, self-esteem and self-satisfaction and others). The research sample consisted of young people aged 13 to 18 (Lata and the Woodcraft League of the Czech Republic organizations), using a questionnaire as a research tool. The bachelor thesis is divided into the theory and the research. The theoretical part describes the issue of factors influencing the occurrence of risk behaviour in the youth. It also defines individual types of problem behaviour. The research revealed that the closest social environment, i.e. parents and educators and peers, is involved in the occurrence of problem behaviour of young people. It also shows that it is vitally important for the young people to learn to take full responsibility for their behaviour. They have to learn to decide about the way of their life with better future prospects and better awareness of possible problems
