Vaclav's Havel second presidential term 1990 - 1992
Halamíček, David ; Stracený, Josef (advisor) ; Samek, Tomáš (referee)
The work is dealing with Vaclav Havel's second presidential term, namely with three aspects which were determining fulfilment of his duties. It is specifically focusing on break up of Czechoslovakia, economic transformation of the country and Havel's opinion of voting systems. The work is trying to prove interconnection of these three points and offers a detailed insight into the matter. It then shows that Vaclav Havel as the last Czechoslovak president had to face these issues and lead an uneven battle with them. There is a stress on shorter two year term of lawmakers which influenced negative development in both parts of the country and why Havel insisted so much on it. KEYWORDS Break up of Czechoslovakia, economic transformation, electoral system

Lontras, Daniel
Lontras, D., Transformation of foreign trade in the Czech Republic and Hungary. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The thesis describes the transformation of foreign trade in Czech Republic and Hungary, identifies the different methods used in both countries and determine the successful country, based on specific aspects and empirical studies. The selected problem is solved by comparing ten attributes chosen mainly on bases of empirical studies dealing with the transformation of foreign trade. During the comparison of both countries, we were able to determine the Czech Republic as a country with more successful transformation of foreign trade. The main benefit of the thesis is the comparison of countries with different attributes that have been used by various authors of empirical studies, which provide a broader view in evaluating the success of the transformation of foreign trade. Next added value of the thesis is division of the transformation period into partial time segments, which describe the main events during reference period.

Hradilová, Petra ; Szobi, Pavel (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
My bachelor thesis evaluates the split of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, from an economic point of view and is divided into three parts. The first part describes the function of the Czech-Slovak Federation in normalization years 1969 - 1989 and its subsequent disintegration. Bachelor thesis is focused not only on economic and economical development but also on social and political development, because exactly that one was in mentioned years an important determinant of economic development. The main part will analyze the development of Czech-Slovak Federation in 1990 - 1992. I evaluate mainly the complexity of mostly federal coexistence in a pluralistic democracy. I focus on the preparation and introduction of economic reforms, the voucher privatization and its acceptance by each of the different republics. I analyze the different impact of economic reforms on economic development and the main macroeconomic indicators in each of the republics. The last part follows the collapse of the federation and the subsequent necessary changes, such as the question of determining citizenship, issues of property division and the establishment and development of customs and monetary union. I also analyze the nature of cohabitation in Czechoslovakia in 1992. The aim of this work is to point out that the economic disparities between those two republics were not given by economic reform, and to show that these differences had an affect on the division of Czechoslovakia.
