Company spokesperson

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the work of the company spokesperson. This thesis aim is to compare the theoretical knowledge of this position with the spokesperson´s practice and evaluation of the current level of the speaker in a medium-sized company. The theoretical part is devoted to the characteristics of spokespersons, their educational opportunities, and their communication with the media and the public. It also deals with legislation that limits their work and organizations that associate spokesman and other PR workers. The practical part describes the working day of the spokesperson in the company. A controlled interview and a questionnaire identified problems that speakers can expect in practice and suggestions for their solutions were found. The thesis is also focused on applying spokespersons into the labor market. Results describing the current state of their education in PR and communication with stakeholders are evaluated which leads to recommending solutions for improving these factors.
Analysis of Jiri Ovcacek's Posts on Twitter

Since his appointment as the spokesperson of the President of the Czech Republic in December 2013, Jiří Ovčáček has been criticized by journalists, politicians, experts on ethics, and the public for his non-standard approach to the post. Particularly, Jiří Ovčáček has been reproached for his communication on the @PREZIDENTmluvci Twitter account. This thesis was working with the hypothesis claiming that Jiří Ovčáček does not behave in a standard way on the social network and does not use refined and serious language. The aim of this thesis was to analyse Jiří Ovčáček's Twitter communication style in terms of the acknowledged standards of a spokesperson. The thesis did not aim to verify the truth in Jiří Ovčáček's tweets, but it aimed to analyse to what extent the spokesperson's Twitter communication met the standards of the post. A sample of 300 tweets from 8th January to 19th February 2018 was analysed by means of the content analysis, particularly by the analytic-comparative method of stylistic analysis. Under the perspective of stylistics, the analysis aimed to identify expression differences in the choice of style, specifically the function of the message, the form of the national language, markedness with a focus on expression, the use of figurative language, irony and sarcasm. Communication with the Media within PR of FC Viktoria Plzeň, a.s.

Title: Communication with the Media within PR of FC Viktoria Plzeň, a.s. Objectives: The main objective of this work is to evaluate nowadays FC Viktoria Plzeň communication with media, all this based on theoretical knowledge, observation, interviews with club representatives and questionnaires filled out by sports journalists, and subsequently to propose possible arrangements that could lead to a better relations with journalists, i.e. those relations that influence image of the club in media. Methods: Practical part consists of a description of the present situation based on a synthesis of information acquired from an interview with the club press agent and those acquired by observation I made myself in a role of a journalist directly at the FC Viktoria Plzeň stadium in Pilsen. Then the situation is confronted with theoretical knowledge from literature and journalists survey data. Results: The results of this work revealed several deficiencies. Concerning the premises designated for journalists one of them is primarily absence of tables in the press area and unsuitable toilets common with spectators. Establishment of a permanent mix-zone, mutual cooperation with journalists in composing questions for audio recordings or placing a TV screen broadcasting matches in a press box would mean improvement...
Czech presidential elections 2018 on the spokesman's Twitter

The subject matter of this thesis is to analyse the content of the twitter account @PREZIDENTmluvci of Jiri Ovcacek, spokesperson of the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman. Theoretical part includes the definition of political communication and its brief history. Furthermore, the work describes the modern practice of political communication. The theoretical part of the thesis also contains a chapter discussing the social network Twitter and offers a detailed look at Twitter accounts of the president of the United States Donald Trump and the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. The practical part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the profile of Jiri Ovcacek on the social network Twitter. The period chosen for the analysis was from 12 December 2017 to 12 February 2018, a month before and after the first day of the first round of the 2018 Czech presidential election. A sample of 358 posts was defined on Ovcacek's Twitter account. The profile is first characterized in general. Subsequently, the tweets of spokesperson Jiri Ovcacek are divided into basic categories. In the last part of the thesis, the 2018 presidential elections are subjected to analysis and further categorized.
Requirements of Selected Czech Media on Media Relations of Sports Organisations

Title: Requirements of Selected Czech Media for Media Relations of Sports Organisations Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to synthesize sports media's opinions on media relations of sports organizations in Czech republic. The aim is to create a document that will have the potential to improve communication between media and Czech sports organizations. Methods: The qualitative method of interviews was used for data collection, alongside with a guideline based on theoretical framework. Respondents were selected by targeted sampling employing criteria. Interviews were recorded and subsequently transcribed into written form. Obtained data were processed by the deductive method of thematic analysis. Results: The result of this thesis is a summary of requests from media representatives. The results reflect the theoretical framework with practical comments for the Czech sports environment. Overall, media representatives focus on trust from sports organizations and their representatives. They recall that a media output is also a part of a sports career of athletes. They wish to be seen as someone who is a partner in spreading information to the public and fans, not as an enemy. Ways how media inform about extraordinary events

The ways how media inform about extraordinary events have an important influence on determination of people, institutions and organizations. If the state agency is not able to respond on extraordinary events fast enough, the information is published regardless of an institutions{\crq}s opinion. Every in this way established information lives its own life {--} it becomes a source used by other media, it is taken by the broadcast and people discuss it. This status is mostly irreversible. Fast, realistic, pragmatic and complete information means a lot. The real truth of information is the difficult problem and it stands to reason, that all significant subjects should inform their surroundings properly and actively. In this work there are summerized some demands on a press agent, his/her scope of employment, which doesn´t consists only of informing about extraordinary events but also includes the comprehensive long - term cooperation with media. Next there are enumerated sorts of mass media and representatives of individual media applied in the Czech republic There is the description of the possible use of these representatives for information according to ratings, number of printed copies and quantity of people reading newspaper, listening to the radio and watching television. Next there are elaborated possibilities of communication with mass media, which consists of briefings and interview and next there are described principles of communication with media. In this work there are also described sorts of extraordinary events and basic information for population about its origin
