Careful preparation of the teacher for the teaching unit, both theoretical and practical, is an important element of the teacher’s work and is essential for the teacher’s success and the benefit of his students. This work is intended primarily for beginning teachers who do not yet have much experience and therefore thorough preparation is all the more important for them. The aim of the work was to describe the issue of teacher’s preparation for teaching a specialized subject and the proposal of preparation for teaching units and field exercises. The theoretical part deals with the theoretical basis of teacher training and the practical part offers detailed proposals for the preparation of two teaching units of the course Environment and preparation for field exercises in this course. Methods of analysis, comparison and synthesis of theoretical knowledge of the obtained cited sources were used for the elaboration of the theoretical part. In the practical part, the knowledge from the theoretical part was used for the preparation of the topics of individual lessons, and appropriate scientific resources were used. Open, kind, friendly, but consistent attitude of the author towards students and various methods used to design preparation for lessons and field exercises can be an inspiration for other young teachers. However, the author adds that each teacher has a unique personality and style, which also changes and develops with new experiences and so each preparation will naturally always be different.

Using the CLIL method for preparation of selected topics from Human Physiology at lower-secondary level

Diploma thesis deals with the use of the CLIL method in biology lessons and its using for preparation of selected topics from Human Biology at lower-secondary level. The aim of the thesis was to study Czech and foreign literature which is concentrated on CLIL method and its integration into the Biology teaching, further was described the characteristics of this teaching method and were included the concrete examples of using this method in teaching lessons. The main aim of the thesis was to design and verify two teaching units in the field of Human Biology teaching at lower-secondary level. Within each teaching unit students solved a practical task from Biology, and they also acquired knowledge and vocabulary related to a concrete topic. Based on the verification of teaching units in practice was developed methodical recommendations for teachers interested in introducing the CLIL method into their lessons. The analysis of the pupil's worksheets showed that pupils were able to do most of the tasks on their own however certain activities caused problems to them and therefore was needed more guidance from the teacher. The instructions of some activities were necessary to repeat several times due to elimination of possible mistakes in pupil's worksheets. Observing the experimental teaching it was found out that the majority of students did not have difficulty to communicate in English about issues related to selected biological topics and the foreign language was not an obstacle for them in understanding the content of the subject. The important information was told in the mother tongue because of the less language-skilled pupils.

4 The Abstrakt: The main target of the thesis is to complete and check the materials of inquiry- based education on the topic of 'water in human life'. This thesis has been based on the ESTABLISH project and it is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of inquiry-based education, its benefits and history. It introduces us to the national and foreign project and works that treat this type of education. The main passage of the thesis deals with the compilation and verification of materials for the inquiry-based activities within the thematic unit of 'water in human life'. Part of the materials is methodical handbook for teachers and worksheets for individual activities. Further on this thesis includes the results of a questionnaire for students. The feedback reflected verification of the activities and course of materials content and suitability assessment. Consequently, the thesis also includes the application of the questionnaire for educators which evaluated the awareness of the inquiry-based education and its existing usage by biology teacher on Prague grammar schools. Didactic Potencial of Roald Dahl's Books and their Use at Primary School

Resumé This diploma thesis deals with the didactic potential of Roald Dahl's books and examines their possible use at primary schools. The purpose of this thesis is a deeper analysis of the two of Roald Dahl's works (Danny, the Champion of the World and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). The thesis focuses on both-the didactical and the literary theory analysis. The teaching units, which are part of the thesis, are based on the parts from the two mentioned Dahl's books. The choice of the parts and methods is didactically commented. Based on the practical credentials, the results are reflected throughout the teaching units. The work also gives information about Roald Dahl's life and contextualizes his works into his life. Last but not least, the thesis focuses on a mini-research of the amount of Dahl's texts in reading-books for the pupils of the fourth grade at primary schools.

Czechoslovakia under communist totalitarianism in film and series and their use for education

This diploma thesis focuses on the appropriate and effective use of film and serial adaptations of topics falling into the period of communist totalitarianism in Czechoslovakia (that is between 1948 and 1989, with emphasis on the period 1948-1969). The thesis is divided into four chapters, whereas the main part, which is didactic, is described in the third and fourth chapter. The first chapter describes the basic historical context of the communist government in Czechoslovakia between 1948 and 1989. It also shows and explains the origin of the idea of communism, the further development of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia during the First Republic, and the postwar Third Republic. This chapter was put together using found edited sources and secondary literature. The second chapter deals with individual film and serial processing of topics related to the period. It presents specific films and series which were produced in the most recent years (or the post-revolutionary period), but also materials produced during the totalitarianism before 1989. In this chapter some works are discussed in greater detail, others are presented as selected alternative options for interaction for educational purposes. Didactic recommendation for teaching HIV/AIDS issue at a primary school

This diploma thesis puts as its goal to define didactical recommendations for teaching HIV/AIDS issue at a primary school and thus provide support for effective teaching about this topic. It presents information about the analyzed issue and by using quantitative anonymous questionnare research among pupils of eighth grade of three chosen primary schools, it determines their knowledge and attitudes towards the HIV/AIDS topic. Based on the results of applied pre-test research it puts forward the proposal of a teaching unit which is then realized in the target group. Then by means of post-test examination, it is verified how effective the designed teaching unit was and how much in contributed to increasing the knowledge of the respondents. Realisation of the teaching unit increased their knowledge by about 37.5% (from the former 54.2% of correct answers to knowledge-based questions to 91.7%) and it can therefore be considered as effective. The main topics of the teaching unit were the diagnostics of HIV positivity, the question of curability of HIV/AIDS, development of the epidemiological situation, difference between the terms HIV and AIDS and the means of transmission of the HIV virus. Scheme of metodology of simple gymnastic skill training on the first stage - horizontal bar, pul lup and small balance beams\\

This diploma thesis focueses on a composition of training simple gymnastic exercises including bar and balance beam exercises and climbing for students of an elementary school and its use in practice. This methodology was applied to a chosen class of an elementary school. The main aims were to find the level of skills through the input tests then to make a progress after application of the composed methodology and finally to find the level of skills through the output tests. The thesis consists of 20 complete lesson plans of the particular lessons just as they were done. It should open up the issue of training simple gymnastic skills and to help teachers to make their P. E. Lessons attractive.
