Connection between charasteristics of an interviewer and respondet's answers in face to face interviews
Strnadová, Mirka ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Buchtík, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis shows a connection between an interviewer's demographic characteristics and a respondent's answers during a face-to-face interview. The analysis uses the American data from General Social Survey and the Czech data from CVVM. The monitored variables are sex, age, education and the size of place. On the ground of the theory of interpersonal communication, social distance and stereotypical answers to certain questions the following questions were chosen to be analysed: the willingness to have certain group of people as neighbours, opinions on marihuana, the death penalty, abortions and homosexuals. The analysis proves that the interviewer's demographic characteristics do influence the answers to some of these questions. However there is no set of rules that could prove which particular characteristics would influence which particular questions. The methods used in this thesis are correlational analysis, binary logistic regression and an advanced mixed models analysis. The next part consists of a qualitative research, which uses a fictional face-to-face interviews and following cognitive interviews with respondents. This part shows the importance of the actual question because when the respondent answers a certain question for the first time he is more likely to be influenced by the...
Study of interviewers of CVVM (in context of the total survey error)
Štohanzlová, Iva ; Buriánek, Jiří (advisor) ; Vinopal, Jiří (referee)
The thesis deals with the survey, specifically its quality and the associated total survey error. Particularly it is focused on those activities, which are linked with the activity of interviewer. Subsequently, this is related to interviewers of the Public Opinion Research Centre. The first part deals with the concept of total survey error. It summarizes the basic concepts and possible points of view on error and data quality. The work also deals with the complexity of the total error and of interdependence of its components. Today's new concepts of research quality are introduced. Briefly it is mentioned the history of surveys, of their methodology and quality. Another part is from the perspective of data quality focused on the interviewer's work and possible influences on the course of questioning, which are associated. The various activities with regard to possible sources of error are discussed. From this perspective, it is mapped and evaluated the activity of interviewers of CVVM and some improvement of work with interviewers is designed.
Comparison of selected data collection techniques of quantitative research
Utler, Richard ; Tahal, Radek (advisor) ; Forst, Václav (referee)
The thesis analyses the differences that result from using of specific data collection method, computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) and computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI). The main findings are based on election model built by research agency TNS Aisa for elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic in 2013. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether the chosen method of data collection influences the results of the estimated electoral preferences, to determine in which sociodemographic categories it is happening and whether the differences in the obtained data are related to the ideological orientation of the political parties. The dependence of the results on the data collection method is assessed by the chi-quadrate independence test. Further, through personal interviews with researchers, it is determined at what stage of the research process the data may be distorted and what its possible causes are. The benefit of the thesis is the finding that the chosen method of collection influences the established preferences among voters aged 30-44, university graduates and voters living in Prague. In these groups, the left-hand side ČSSD is preferred more by personal interviewing and right-handed TOP 09 through telephone interviewing. The collection of data itself was evaluated by the most risky phase of the research process, in which possible distortion could occur. While the accuracy of personal interviewing depends largely on the interviewer's personality, the sources of distortion of the telephone inquiry result more from the nature of the use of the phone itself.
Electronic Questionnaires
Kurková, Michaela ; Komárková, Lenka (advisor) ; Hajdíková, Taťána (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with electronic questionnaires. Questionnaires features are compared and the simplicity or complexity of the usage and the creation of an electronic questionnaire for common user sis investigated. Principles for creating questionnaires regarding particular usage of the individual questions during interview are the part sof this thesis. Important and therefore the main part of this work is the focus on the individual web-sites that offer the opportunity to create their own electronic questionnaire. In conclusion, the findings from the websites and the evaluation of the best website for creating electronic questionnaires for common users are described.
Evaluation of the inquirers in market research
Macura, Milan ; Hebák, Petr (advisor) ; Průšová, Petra (referee)
This Diploma work is focused on evaluation options of quality of inquirer work in marketing research. Assigned task was founding proper indicators, which will help the agencies to assess if and how much the inquirers fulfill the requirements laid on them. First part contains the description of known standards and biases, which occur during marketing research. Bias indicators, which were the main goal to identify and formalize, are described in the second part. These indicators can serve as a guide to expose low quality inquirers. The constituent part of this work is an example of data analysis of real project, where the construction of some of these indicators has been described. This analysis confirmed the assumption that the data analysis should be inseparable part of every marketing research project, because low quality and cheating inquirers can be exposed on its base. Results presentation and suggestions for better checking of the data obtained by the inquirers in the field can help agencies to obtain more quality data and therefore make better and more trustable conclusions of market research projects.
Využití interview a dotazníků při analýze IS/IT
Rozbor poukazuje na základní podmínky užití metody, shrne hlavní výhody a nevýhody, poradí, v jaké situaci metodu použít a v neposlední řadě určí, jaký druh informací můžeme danou metodou získat.
