Dance in Brno

The aim of the diploma thesis was to design a theatre building for dancing, placed in the centre of Brno, in one part of Roosevelt Street in the park of Danuše Muzikářová. The design continues in the pre-diploma project with the topic Ideal: Dancing Theatre, which examines the history and present of the stage space for dance, different ways of use of the space, theatre technology, the economic demands of the sustainability of a cultural building and its comparison with foreign countries. Especially there are interviews with people that are somehow connected with contemporary dance. I mainly follow historical development and interviews. In my opinion, dancing theatre in the Czech Republic does not have as broad audience as it could have. That is why I design the centre for dance, where I try to give people an idea of modern dancing theatre in different ways. Because it is a new form of dancing performance I wanted to look at the design of the theatre from a different point of view than usual. In the theoretical part of my thesis, I concentrated on a Japanese tradition connected with a dancing performance and overall perception of space and architecture. From those theses, I chose principles which I used in the design of my diploma project.
Dance in Brno

Dance, as many understand and perceive it, is no longer the dance we know from theater stages. It is not strictly confined to the movements of ballet, the compositions of contemporary dance, or the steps of traditional dances. Dance has begun to evolve more towards a spiritual direction. It is the expressive movements of individuals who convey stories through their movements, performers who react to their surroundings with their gestures, and groups of dancers who connect with each other through their movements. This is the current form of dance that spills out of the classical theaters and into the streets, cultural centers, and parks. It goes where there is a sensitive and perceptive observer. Such performers go where they feel comfortable, where they can develop their movements, their thinking, and where they can be inspired. However, currently, there are not too many spaces that are conducive to such individuals. In Prague, there are a few theaters that focus on the current direction of dance development and on dancers moving in this direction. In Brno, there are significantly fewer such platforms for dance, and the facilities are inadequate. Therefore, it happens that dance leaves Brno for cities where it has more favorable conditions. A step towards improving the conditions for contemporary dancers is to give them their own spaces, spaces designated for their dance. To move away from classical theaters, where these individuals feel rather uncomfortable in their large spaces. The aim of this work is to present a new form of theater as a space for free dance and movement artists. Incorporating such a structure into the scale of the city of Brno and integrating it into the city's life.
Selected Musical Activities Usable in the School Club

The thesis entitled Selected Musical Activities Usable in the School Clubs deals with the school club as a place for leisure and musical activities that can be used here. In the introductory chapters of this theoretical thesis describes the basic characteristics of the target group, school club as a place for spending leisure time and at the same time as a facility for leisure education and music activities. In the next part of the thesis, I describe my own proposal for music activities school clubs, which can serve as an inspiration for teachers and other educators.
Modern dance instructor as a leisure time teacher

The bachelor thesis is concentrated on the instructor of modern dance who is influencing other people as the leisure educator. The author defines the term modern dance and also characterize particularities of this sports field. The thesis also deals with the dance as type of a leisure activity and it briefly characterizes the leisure education concentrated mainly on the dance and education of leisure activities. The piece of work is focused on the children at the age between six and eleven years. The author also characterizes the evolution of the children and their physical abilities and the readers of the thesis are able to find out something about the educational methods of the leisure educator as well. The last chapter focuses on the personality of the leisure educator. Furthermore, this part defines the aims of his work and the scope of his activity. The bachelor thesis also concentrates on the leisure educator in the field of dancing, mainly the modern one.
Personal Significance of Leisure Dance Activities for Non-Professional Dancers

The bachelor thesis deals with dancing, specifically non-professional dancing and its position in the context leisure dancing activities. The thesis consists of two parts, which are mutually connected. In the theoretical part, the work deals with dancing as a leisure activity, and the personality of a leisure educator as a dancing instructor. The thesis then focuses on factors developing the personality within the leisure dancing activity and subsequently it points to distinctive psychosocial needs typical of this team sport. In the research part, the method of qualitative research is used in the form of interviews which are then evaluated by means of the thematic data analysis. The research itself maps the experience of non-professional dancers with leisure dancing activity, and examines what subjective meaning they attach to this activity in their lives.
Detection of the most common functional disorders of the movement system of children attending the No Limit dance studio in České Budějovice

The diploma thesis is aimed at detecting functional disorders of the movement system, which are most found in dancers attending the dance studio No Limit. Twelve girls took part in the testing and were subjected to standardized tests. According to the results of the initial testing of individual probands, their personal characteristics of the detected disorders were processed. Then a set of compensatory exercises was designed, which was introduced into the training unit. The compensation program was to be applied for 8 weeks, always after dance training twice a week. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the compensation program had to be terminated prematurely and its effectiveness could not be verified through exit compensation program. The diploma thesis is even more concerned with the results of the entrance testing, the interconnection of individual test results with each other for individual probands and the overall characteristics of the tested group. Evaluation of posture by the method of Jaroš and Lomíček showed that 50% of girls had good (almost perfect) posture, 42% of girls had poor posture and 8% of girls had very poor posture. Hypermobility was demonstrated in at least one trial in 100% of girls. On the contrary, muscle shortening was not particularly pronounced due to numerous hypermobility. The shortening of the triceps was more pronounced in 50% of girls and the shortening of the scapula lifts in 33% of girls. In the tests of muscle weakness, the most common weakness of the gluteal muscles was in 75% of girls, the weakening of the lower scapular fixators in 50% of girls and the weakening of the direct abdominal muscle in 50% of girls.
Work in children's folklore ensemble with preschool children

The bachelor work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The aim of my work is pointing out possibility of using folklore during work with preschool children. In the theoretical part I attend to basic introduction the folklore of the South Bohemia and of the West Bohemia forcefully on "Blaťácký" folklore, its gatherers and possibilities in education process. In the practical part I describe work with preschool children within the frame of children's folklore group "Javoráček". Experiences from work in folklore group I apply in create integrated whole named "Malí muzikanti", which I try to realise with preschool children in kindergarten.
Transformation of the real and the digital in the dance environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dance lessons through digital platforms.

This bachelor's thesis is devoted to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on dance lecturers as representatives of the creative economy. The aim of the work was to reveal what strategies and practices were used by dance instructors to move dance lessons to an online environment under the conditions of limiting personal contacts as part of anti-coronavirus measures. Attention was also paid to the positive and negative factors that influenced the transition and adaptation of dance instructors in the online environment. The research draws on the concepts of the creative class and the creative economy as sources of economic progress in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The work is based on qualitative research, using the methods of semi-structured interviews with dance instructors and hidden participant observation of dance lessons. 8 dance trainers aged 21-35 participated in the research. Music and dance afterschool program with elements of clogging for primary school pupils

The diploma thesis focuses on a design of an annual teaching plan for a musical and dancing afterschool program for elementary school students. The aim of the thesis is to present a dance style called "clogging" (American country step) and to present a methodology for teaching its basics, in which emphasis will be placed not only on getting acquainted with elements of this style, but also on the musical development of pupils. The diploma thesis was intended as a possible inspiration for the leaders of dance clubs who aim to teache their pupils not only to dance but to perceive the music sensibly and to work with it as well. It also coul serve as an inspiration for music teachers who would like to make their classes special or devote themselves to leading a musical and dancing afterschool program with an unusual focus. The theoretical part presents the development of children of younger school age, music and movement education and familiarization with the history and basics of clogging technique. The practical part presents the teaching plan of the musical and dancing afterschool program, which consists of a description of eighteen lessons that contain an offer of music and movement activities for one term and include the use of clogging elements.

Title: The level of static balance of professional latin american dancers aged 18-30 in relation to their dance classes Objectives: The main aim of this study was to determine the level of postural stability and to compare its level between dance classes in dancers of Latin dancing. The partial aim of this study was to evaluate the level of motor docility in dancers and also to compare the level of postural stability between male and female dancers. Methods: The research group consists of 31 dancers of Latin dancing (n = 31, age = 22.7 ± 3 years, height = 172.8 ± 9.5 cm, weight = 63.5 ± 10.7 kg) from various dance classes, aged from 18 to 30 years. The dancers were subjected to body composition measurements on a Tanita instrument (Tanita Corporation, Japan) and then postural stability measurements on a FootScan pressure plate (International, Belgium). 4 tests were used to evaluate the level of postural stability (narrow stand with eyes open and closed - 30 s, stand on the right and left lower limb - 60 s). The evaluated parameters of postural stability were the total travel way (TTW) of the center of pressure (COP).
