Vyskočilová, Jana ; Praško Pavlov, Ján (advisor) ; Kožnar, Jan (referee)
Bc. Jana Vyskočilová, FHS Řízení a supervize, Abstrakt k diplomové práci. ABSTRACT The first part of the study deals with theoretical issues of supervision, especially supervision in cognitive behavioral therapy. The practical part is focused to mapping the expectations of supervision of trainees of CBT training in various phases of their training (after 1 year of training and after the fourth year of training, prior to training) and expectations of supervision of trainees training in CBT supervision. ABSS (Attitudes and Beliefs about Supervision Scale) was used as an evaluation instrument to assessed the expectations and beliefs of supervision. The expectations of probands with different experience in supervision were compared to find out where are consensual and where differ. The results show that trainees in supervision (Supervisors) emphasize particularly the importance of self-reflection and structures, Intermediate and advanced training students differ in their attitudes and expectations of supervision minimally (increased emphasis on counter-transference in intermediate students). Probands who are just going into training and have no previous experiences with supervision generally have higher expectations of supervision than trainees, who are already undergoing training. The finding that...

The Social Services Staff Access to the Supervision.
ŘÍHOVÁ, Štěpánka
The bachelor thesis is focused on the attitude of social service workers to supervision. The objective of the thesis is to determine the attitude of social service workers to supervision. A partial goal of the work is to determine the benefit of supervision for social service workers. I focused on their experience and evaluation of the attitudes towards the supervision, and also on their reaction to stressful situations and also on how they try to prevent the burnout syndrome. In the theoretical part I focused on three basic chapters: social services and standards of quality, supervision and the burnout syndrome. In the practical part, in the qualitative research I chose ten workers in direct service from the Care House of Mistr Jan Křišťan in the town of Prachatice. I set one main research question:? What is the attitude of social service workers to supervision?? and four partial research questions. I applied the method of qualitative research with the technique of semi-structured interview. The results are assessed in tables. The results revealed that the attitude of social service workers is in nine cases out of ten positive. They see the benefit of supervision in the opportunity to meet together in a pleasant and safe environment and in the opportunity to talk undisturbed about difficult and painful situations coming continuously during the performance of this profession. Supervision for them also means a significant contribution in delivering hope, expression of empathy and respect from the supervisor for their hard work done. The results of the bachelor thesis could be a source of information about supervision, its contribution, development and provision in social services in the region of Prachatice. The thesis could be used not only by social service workers but also by the workers in educational and medical facilities. The thesis could be used for all helping professions.
Potential Risk Faktors in the Implementation of Supervision in Juvenile Detention Centers
FIALOVÁ, Markéta
ABSTRACT The objective of this Diploma Thesis is to map the attitudes of the school system?s employees working in behavioral establishments providing institutional and protective care to the practice of implementing supervision as support for their professional activities. The research endeavors to map the issues and risks arising from implementing supervision in such institutions. The theoretical part of the Diploma Thesis aims to explain the basic concepts related to implementation of supervision at educational institutions, namely, such terms as educational institution, professional educators in educational institutions, supervision, supervisor, supervised, etc. A combination qualitative and quantitative survey was used for the realization of this research project. The preliminary phase of the research started with questioning and technical processing of questionnaires. The questioning phase was followed by semi-structured interviews. The survey sample consisted of directors of the individual relevant institutions in the Vysočina Region, specifically, twelve specially qualified educators working in educational institutions of the Vysočina Region. The purpose of the survey was to find out what benefits these employees see in the implementation of supervision into their organization?s operation. Another issue of interest was to see how the management of these organizations acquainted their employees with the supervision?s implementation. Finally, we tried to find out what motivated the employees mainly to take part in supervisors? meetings. Subsequent analysis of the results of the research indicated clearly that the employees consider assistance with problem-solving in the area of relationships as being the greatest benefit of supervision. Furthermore, the research showed that the organizations? managements presented supervision as support and benefit for their respective organization. Finally, it was proved that obligation was the main reason for the workers? attendance at supervisors? meetings.
Supervision in the Helping Professions
AUBRECHTOVÁ, Kateřina
In Czech literature, supervision is usually referred to as inspection or overview. Certain authors claim that supervision would not be supervision without either of them. Supervision provides an overview, which is important in solving occupational issues and monitoring the workers' quality and professionalism. The theoretical section explains the basic terms that are related to the title of the essay. It explains the word supervision, auxiliary professions, supervision and its forms, objectives, methods and a supervision contract. The text also specifies who can submit supervision, which criteria the supervisor must fulfil and the relation between the supervisor and the supervised. The essay determines supervising methods (and techniques) used in selected institutions and reveals whether and how the supervisor allows for typology of the clients with whom the institution works. It also ascertains how the supervised persons perceive the supervisors. I specified three research issues: 1. What does supervision give to the supervised? 2. Do the supervisors apply different supervising methods according to the client's typology? 3. Does the supervisor heed typology of clients that are a target group of the given institution? In the practical section of the essay, I applied a form of qualitative research with regard to the specified objectives. For collection of data, I used a research method based on queries and an associated research method of semi-structured interviews. I appended the queries with an observation method. Eighteen persons participated in the interviews. Fifteen of the supervised persons came from three different institutions (a Charity Home for Mothers with Children, a Nursing Home in Havlíčkův Brod and an Institute of Social Care in Zboží) and three persons were supervisors, one from each institution. The essay may help to improve knowledge of persons with auxiliary professions on the supervision and facilitate supervision in various institutions with regard to the clients' typologies.
Specifics of supervision of volunteer programmes in health-social area
BRÁZDOVÁ, Pavla
Although the benefits of supervision are known nowadays, it is still not applied in a number of fields. This concerns even such occupations where direct work with clients is the basis of work or voluntary activity (e.g. health care, school education and even some organisations providing services of social care etc.). This thesis first informs about supervision in general, i.e. about its history, objectives, functions and division. Further, it deals with the person of the supervisor, the supervised person, and their relationship. The theoretical part is finished with information on social services, volunteering and supervision of volunteer programmes in the field of medical and social care. In comparison with the supervision of providers of social services, this volunteer supervision should be different, and this difference should consist in its voluntary, not obligatory, character. This diploma thesis aims at describing specific features of supervision of volunteer programmes in the field of medical and social care. A partial objective is to find differences between providing and receiving supervisions in volunteer programmes and supervisions of organisations providing social services. The research was both quantitative and qualitative, included method of questioning, semi-standardised questionnaire and a guided interview. There were three hypotheses set in the thesis, two of which were confirmed and one disproved. Further, on the basis of her results, the author defines the specific character of the supervision of volunteer programmes. The author regards as the most important finding the fact that volunteers take part in supervision voluntarily and with pleasure, view it as beneficial a natural part of their volunteer activity. This is also the most essential difference between the volunteer supervision and the supervision provided by social services, where over 50 per cent of staffs view supervision as an obligatory part of their occupation, and a much higher percentage of the staffs in comparison with volunteers say that they do not regard supervision as a benefit for themselves. The author sees the applicability of this thesis in publishing her results in professional journals or in publishing on the web pages of the National Volunteer Centre, because so far almost nothing has been published on this subject.
The professional skills of a supervisor
ŠVAJGROVÁ, Lenka
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to characterize the professional skills necessary for supervisor's job. I focused on the requirements for this job and supervisor's skills in the environment of the Czech Republic. The main object of my thesis was to examine supervisor's skills and communication abilities, considered to be crucial before the applying for the job of a supervisor. Furthermore, I investigated the skills required for conducting supervision, i.e. the skills important for the establishment of supervisor-supervisee relationship and the contract between them, the skills useful to manage the supervision process. The comparison of these findings with the requirements of particular educational course revealed that they are almost completely congruent.
