Experiencies of plurilinguistic families with educational counselling

This work aims to identify the specifics of plurilingual families with children with special educational needs and to provide insight into their experiences in the field of special education - educational counselling in the Czech Republic. The practical part (5), conducted in a qualitative manner and devoted to individual case studies, interviews with parents, and discussions, is preceded by a theoretical part. Its goals are (1) to outline the issues of language acquisition in children and introduce the reader to the concepts of multilingualism, subsequently multilingual, foreigner, and a child with Czech as additional language as understood by the Czech educational system if it employs these terms. Furthermore, it is essential to address (2) the definition of family in a sociological context with subsequent insights into plurilingual families and organizations that focus on supporting them. The third chapter briefly shed light on (3) the characteristics of the Liberec Region, where the research was conducted. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter (4) addressing special education for plurilingual children in the Liberec Region. Disertační práce se zabývá problematikou seniorského věku a snaží se poukázat na některé základní přístupy v souvislosti s porozuměním této velmi heterogenní a diverzifikované skupině, těžiště přitom klade do vzájemného vyváženého poměru speciálně pedagogických přístupů a teologicko-pastorální impulsů. Toto spojení však vyžaduje hledání společného dialogu mezi vědami a umožňuje tak najít kvalitní základnu pro porozumění seniorům v jejich integrovaném životním příběhu a zasadit se tak o kvalitní, ale i efektivní péči navazující na poznatky humanitních, medicínských i společenských věd. Zvolená metoda vyžaduje multidisciplinární přístup a vzdělání, které přesahuje hranice vymezení oborů. Práce využívá jako zdroj kvalitativní výzkum, který byl zaměřen na širokou oblast kvality života seniorů a zohledňoval též spirituální otázky. Vzhledem k volbě metody je daný text ukotven ve výpovědích klientů, čímž získává pestrost, autenticitu a praktické ukázky příběhů, zkušeností a otázek. Práce je členěna do pěti kapitol, které postupně kopírují jednotlivé tematické oblasti. Vychází z teoretických a praktických přístupů, přičemž vše propojuje s poznatky získaný během terénního výzkumu. Significance of Psycho-spiritual Care in the Old Age Period. Stimulating the Development of the Elderly in the Field of Special Needs Education

The Dissertation deals with the issue of the senior age and tries to point out some basic approaches in understanding this very heterogeneous and diversified group, the emphasis is put on the mutual balance between special pedagogical approaches and theological and pastoral impulses. This connection, however, requires searching a common dialogue among sciences and allows finding a quality base for understanding seniors in their integrated story of life and thus promoting a quality but also effective care following the findings of the humanities, medicine and social sciences. The method chosen requires a multidisciplinary approach and education that goes beyond the boundaries delimitating particular disciplines. The source used here is the qualitative research, which was focused on a wide area of the life quality of older people, and which also reflected spiritual issues. In view of the method chosen, the text is embedded in the testimonies of the clients, thereby gaining diversity, authenticity and practical demonstrations of stories, experience and issues. The Dissertation is divided into five chapters that progressively follow the individual thematic areas. Visual Stimulation for Children with Severe Multiple Disabilities in Special Elementary School

The thesis examines visual stimulation for children with severe multiple disabilities in special elementary school. The aim of the thesis is to design, based on qualitative research, a re-education process of visual stimulation for children with severe multiple disabilities and its subsequent evaluation. In accord with the aims outlined above, two partial goals were formulated. The first goal was to determine the areas of visual perception in which the student struggles. The second goal was to assess the progress after visual stimulation. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part consists of three chapters. The first chapter defines terminology, the second one is devoted to education of pupils with multiple disabilities, and the third chapter describes visual stimulation, its rules, principles, and kinds. The empirical part characterizes the goals of the thesis, the methodology of research, and the technique used for gathering data. The qualitative method was used for the purposes of the empirical part. Data were gathered using observation, interview and document analysis. The re-education process was applied to respondents in order to support the impaired visual functions. The outcomes outlined in the empirical part will be applicable in the field of education of pupils with severe combined impairment. With some formal adjustments, these outcomes may serve as a starting point for preparing an insctructional and informational materiál for parents of children with severe multiple disabilities. The research discovered that no general conclusions can be drawn for work with children with this kind of impairment. Regular practice improves visual functions, but the current state of the child matters a lot. If the child is in bad mental or physical state, there might be regression.
