Indicatours of sustainable development social pillar at the local level
Kučerová, Zita ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Doc.PhDr.Jana Šafránková,CSc. (referee) ; Staňková, Eva (referee) ; Koutný, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to find the answer, whether it is plausible to monitor social cohesion of the municipality and how to measure this cohesion, which is one of the essential pillars of sustainable development. In order to find out, analysis of approaches and measurements of the sustainable development social pillar in international and Czech environment was carried out. Social pillar was identified and described also at the local level. Within the framework of the sustainable development social pillar at the municipal level three main thematic blocks are proposed: • Social environment quality of the municipality • Social-demographic population structure of the municipality • Contentment and participation in the public affairs These themes should be monitored by the set of indicators proposed in this thesis. It aimed to cover all dimensions of social cohesion which are significant and well-founded in the context of the territorial planning process. These indicators can be followed in the direct relationship with the population size and regional importance of the observed territorial unit at the local level and they are not separated from the concept of indicators monitoring at other – territorially higher – levels. Outcomes, analysis and interpretation of attained values could become the basis for the “territorial sustainable development analysis” (part of territorial planning instruments according to contemporary legal regulations), representing social pillar. All phenomenon and processes must be evaluated in the context with other sustainable development pillars and afterwards they should become another suitable instrument for measurement of the fulfilling the territorial planning aims.

Kubásek, Pavel ; Slepičková, Irena (advisor) ; Novotný, Jiří (referee)
Title: The role of the civic organizations in the life of the small municipalities Objectives: The main objective is to evaluate the relationship between civil society organizations and representatives of public administration in terms of their common aspiration to build cohesion in the former Association of Municipalities Neveklovsko. Defunct micro-region is also subject to consideration of future similar institutions. Methods: This multi-case study is based on analysis of data collected in selected community association Neveklovsko. The project will also draw information from public printed materials. This project will be based on semi-structured interviews with the mayors of municipalities and chosen representatives of civic associations. Results: We found that all municipalities of examined micro-region realize the importance and interest groups in the villages. Municipalities are trying to make these voluntary organizations to promote and ensure better social life of the inhabitants. Recently, the municipalities of the former micro-region worked together again in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the eviction of Neveklovsko. Recreating of micro-region is not in a sight. Any municipalities do not agree with the financing and therefore they have no further interest in this integration....
Social problems of city Most from perspective of its young population
Pícha, Tomáš ; Tuček, Milan (advisor) ; Kuchař, Pavel (referee)
This Thesis deals with the social problems of city Most and how they are perceived and evaluated by its young population. Under influence of historical events the city has a very specific composition of the population and it has long been faced with many problems that are inherently social, economic, environmental and other. The Thesis presents the view of pupils and students of Most's schools on these problems and it analyzes which problems students consider as urgency, how they evaluate the living conditions in Most and what is their relationship to the city. The Thesis is supported by own SAQ survey conducted on a sample of approximately 600 students from different types of schools that provides answers to most of the research questions. Given that the Romany question intensively rezonates between young denizens of Most, the survey has been extended to gypsies living in one of Most's Romany localities - well-known settlement Chanov. This enabled the comparison of respondents' opinions (mostly from the rank of the majority) with views of young gypsies. Thus the overall output is consisted of a description of the current situation of the city and its problems, perception of these problems by its young population (majority in comparison with relatively numerous minority of gypsies) and outline of...

Cross-Cultural Validiation of the Czech Version of the Group Environment Questionnaire
Prokešová, Eva ; Rychtecký, Antonín (advisor) ; Válková, Hana (referee) ; Harsa, Pavel (referee)
-i- Abstract The aim of this study was to conduct a cross-cultural validation of the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ) (Carron, Widmeyer, & Brawley, 1985), internationally recognized as useful and contemporary measurement approach to cohesion. The GEQ was originally validated for a sample of North American athletes. In total, the sample consisted of 1 410 adult athletes and trainers (1 019 male and 391 female). A modified direct translation method with protocol analysis was utilised to translate the GEQ from English into Czech. Content validity was analysed and confirmed by content validity ratio method for individual indicators of the questionnaire. The factor structure of the Czech version of the questionnaire, verified by structural equation modelling, did not differ from the original version. The predictive validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by its ability to differentiate between groups of athletes (with diverse levels of perceived successfulness) on the basis of their team cohesion scores. Reliability, measured by the Cronbach's coefficient α, was 0,59-0,69 (for version with positively/negatively worded items) and 0,63-0,79 (for version with positively worded items). The results are discussed in the context of possible cultural differences. For population of the Czech athletes from team...
Real- Estate Taxation de lege ferenda
Krejčí, Hanuš ; Boháč, Radim (referee)
The thesis presents a brand new concept of recurrent real estate tax in the Czech Republic. The object of the tax is designed to be exclusively land and apartments and non-residential premises. Buildings or any other aboveground or underground structures are not the object of taxation. Unlike buildings, land and apartments and non-residential premises can be appraised with sufficient accuracy only considering their quantity and location, hence by simply multiplying their areas and unit prices common in a given place and time. Consequently, the real estate tax can be designed on an ad valorem basis in order to differentiate between the tax liability of most lucrative, less lucrative and least lucrative property owners. As a result, tax collection can be substantially increased and a still marginal local tax can become a significant source of funds to the state treasury. At the same time, the increased recurrent tax on immovable property allows to abolish the economically questionable one-off tax in the Czech Republic, which is nowadays levied on the transfer of immovable property. The land tax is imposed on all land in the territory of the Country, with the exception of land built by apartment buildings and land used exclusively with them. The tax on apartments and non- residential premises falls on the...
Sociomapping pupils' social relationships and adaptation in a school class
Rábek, Tomáš ; Šípová, Ivana (advisor) ; Wirthová, Jitka (referee)
Sociometric methods can provide early identification of problems within the social realm of a classroom and therefore contribute to a faster and more efficient solution. One of the most used sociometric tools in the Czech Republic is the Sociometric rating questionnaire (SO-RA-D; Slavíková et al., 2007). Yet it was never examined to what extent this tool can predict the risk of ongoing bullying or pupils' social maladaptation (defined here as a subjective feeling of threat, hostility, indifference/apathy, distrust, and intolerance). Moreover, it is not clear if a circular sociogram which is commonly used for visualization of results in SO-RA-D can capture elements of class structure which are important for the following intervention. For these reasons, the following work quantitatively tests out on the sample of 6 classrooms at Prague's private secondary school (n=113) the extent to which the questions used in SO-RA-D can predict social maladaptation (measured by a questionnaire B-3; Braun, 1998) and the risk of ongoing bullying (measured by questionnaire Guess who?; Kolář, 2011). At the same time, this work is testing the relative effectiveness of newly formed relational questions relative to the ones used in SO-RA-D. This work also tests the effectiveness of newly formed questions focusing on...
