Šmerda, Patrik ; Janková, Zuzana (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the application of fuzzy logic in constructing a decisionmaking model for evaluating investment opportunities in stock markets, with a specific emphasis on the selection of exchange-traded funds. The model is based on essential criteria that play a crucial role in the efficient selection of funds. These criteria are implemented in two decision-making models that have been developed using Microsoft Excel and MATLAB tools. The results obtained from these models provide a solid foundation for further steps in the investment decision-making process.

How does the school management assign teachers to classrooms at selective elementary schools?
Kadrnožková, Monika ; Greger, David (advisor) ; Starý, Karel (referee) ; Kasíková, Hana (referee)
The dissertation deals with the topic of how the school management of Czech primary schools assign teachers to classrooms. The aim of the thesis was to define the system of assigning teachers to classrooms at schools applying pupils' differentiation and to clarify which criteria the school management follows in the assignment of teachers to the classrooms. The theoretical part was based on both domestic and foreign sources dealing with the concept of differentiation of pupils in primary education and with the choice of assignment of teachers to classrooms. Differentiation of pupils was presented in terms of the positive effects of effective education of similarly competent pupils and in terms of the view that differentiation supports the unequal distribution of pupils in classes and the subsequent recruitment of teachers applying different demands and curriculum. In addition, a model of pupils' differentiation and models of assignment of teachers to classrooms were presented, and also the theoretical model of teacher's knowledge was introduced, which was further used in the empirical part for the determination of the criteria for assigning teachers to classrooms. The aim of the empirical part was to describe the real way of assigning teachers to classrooms by the school management in five...

Does payoff dominance matter?: an experiment
Polena, Michal ; Cingl, Lubomír (advisor) ; Levely, Ian Vandemark (referee)
Risk dominance and Payoff dominance are considered to be the most important selection criteria in Stag-hunt games. In contrast, the main finding of Schmidt et al. (2003) is that players do not respond to changes in Payoff dominance parameter in these games. There might be, however, other explanations for results of Schmidt et al. (2003). Moreover, Dubois et al. (2011) and Battalio et al. (2001)'s experimental results suggest that sufficiently large changes in Payoff dominance parameter may play a role. We, therefore, proposed three Stag-hunt games in order to examine whether players respond to large changes in Payoff dominance parameter. Furthermore, we tested the predictive power of Relative riskiness. Our main finding is that even large changes in Payoff dominance parameter do not induce players to change their choices. An in- significant trend in players' choices, caused by Relative riskiness, was detected in our second finding. Possible explanations are discussed.
