Design of a sustainable urban structure - based on a medieval city - for the 21st century.

The thesis deals with the design of a sustainable urban structure, based on a medieval city, in the 21st century. The main idea of the proposal is the creation of a new part of the town Náměšť nad Oslavou with the aim of connecting it with the existing urban structure and at the same time extending it to the missing elements of the developing city. The newly built area is designed with an emphasis on the construction of new residential housing with civil facilities services, while designing and creating public spaces and private parts of courtyards and villas. The aim of the thesis was to design a growing territory so that it adapts to the needs of today's society and at the same time became part of the existing city. From an urban point of view, based on the theme of the thesis, the aim is to combine elements of a medieval city with elements of a city built in the 21st century. The concept is based on a planned network of streets with multifunctional buildings designed for trade and production in the ground floor and housing on other floors, which originated in the medieval city. The emblem of the medieval city was the emotional perception of the connection of strict lines and strange shapes into one whole, and therefore buildings were designed in a new part of the city for living with almost clean geometric lines, while the objects of civil facilities are organic shapes.

Transformation of European exhibition and fair areas

Exhibition centres represent a specific type of urban space within the present-day European cities and their current form results from a long development in the past. While exhibition venues are the subject of study from multiple points of view (e.g. economics, urban policy, leisure studies) their spatial quality and urban characteristics stay somewhat aside and a theoretical frame for their all-encompassing description and assessment of their possible impact on the urban development of cities is missing. Comparison of exhibition centres from various European regions and countries is further complicated by the existence of language barriers which have an impact on the accessibility of relevant and comparable data. The thesis submits information about the previous and current form of European exhibition centres and the processes that shaped their form are described in detail. The FFF theory proposed by the author herself is employed to analyse the relation between form, function and financial subjects with the aim to arrive at conclusions which could be applied within the current conditions in the Czech Republic. Summarized knowledge about European exhibition centres and venues helps to understand the role they play within the cities and the necessity to protect their historical value upon future transformations. It is also needed to predict their possible further development and unfold their urban potential.

Uplatňování konceptu Smart City ve Štramberku

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of implementation of Smart City concept in Štramberk. The purpose of the thesis was to map usage of Smart City concept in Štramberk and, based on a comparison of examples of good practice, to suggest possibilities for expanding its usage. Within the theoretical basis of the work, the basic properties of the Smart City concept and the possibilities of its implementation in the conditions of the Czech Republic were defined. The practical part was focused on the current level of implementation of the Smart City concept in Štramberk in order to identify needs and the possibilities of improvment. Based on the results of practical part, priorities and possible measures for the development of the implementation of the Smart City concept in Štramberk were recommended.

Public transportation in Prague during socializm

Diploma thesis maps functioning, problems and troubles of public transportation in Prague during socialism in years 1948 till 1974. These years represents the beginning of communism in Czechoslovak Republic and year of putting the Prague metro into operation. The aim of the work was to examine this limited period in terms of public transportation, its impact on urban development, how different types of public transportation interacted and complemented each other, what was its impact on passengers alone and , for example, how metro planning during this period affected the operation of busses, troleybusses and trams. We found that despite the fact that the metro was at first just an unnecessary plan, later the entire system of public transportation began to concentrate and change precisely because of its implementation. Zhodnocení hospodaření a rozvoje vybrané municipality

This diploma theses deals with the financial management and development of the selected municipality. Specifically, this work was created for the town called Ždánice, located in the South Moravian Region. The aim of the thesis was to find out how the municipality financially managed in 2011-2015 and which development activities were already implemented according to the City Development Program for the period 2016-2024. The thesis is divided into two main parts, namely the literary research and the work results. In the literary research part the concepts related to the municipality, with the regional development and SWOT analysis are described. In the work results part aspects related to Ždánice city, demographic indicators, indicators of economy, SWOT analysis and fulfilment of development activities with own proposals of development activities are analyzed.

Influence of Thomas and Jan Atonín Bata on the town Otrokovice development

Theme that I dealt in my dissertation with, concerns of my hometown Otrokovice and also to the region in which the city is located. Describes the development and building of this place,and especially of city districtsBaťov,which took place here in the 20th and 30 the last century. Under the leadership of brothers Tomas and Jan Antonín Bata here arose ideal industrial town, the only of its kind in the country. This is not qustion just about new town plan, but also a new type of labor and social relations. In my work I deal with not only the sociological impact of this process on indigenous peoples but also a new way of educating young people, the concept of discipline and the phenomenon of collective consciousness. I also asked myself about the sustainable development of Down Otrokovice to the environmental and economic, and their possible future. There is also a comparison with the nearby Zlin, where Bata began the process of transforming. Mentioned town is still the center of the region and tradition bearers of this system.

Statistical analysis of Havlíčkův Brod town development

The bachelor thesis focuses on statistical analysis of Havlíčkův Brod town development between years 2001-2014. The theoretical part covers the findings from the sphere of public administration at the municipal and regional level. The following section is about the specifics of the Havlíčkův Brod. In further, the analytical part deals with the financial indicators such as revenue and expenditures. Moreover, this section looks at the town development, its education system, agriculture, industry and public health. To fulfill the purpose, an analysis of the time series was conducted, predominantly with application of elementary characteristics of them, and also with the usage of the base index. The conclusion of the bachelor thesis summarizes the findings of the research displaying the strengths and weaknesses of the city administration. It also presents ideas pursuing the possible enhancement of the development in the town Havlíčkův Brod.
