Family of Children with severe multiple disabilities

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of a family with a child with severe multiple disabilities. The first three sections explain the concepts of combined disability, cerebral palsy and the family of a child with severe multiple disability. The actual research investigation follows a selected family with a child with a severe multiple disability. The aim of this paper is to find out how the selected social groups affected the selected family and to answer the set questions: what does caring for a bedridden child entail and what impact does this have on the child's family? Has the social circle around the family changed since the child with a disability entered the family? How does this affect siblings and which social areas of life are affected? The research inquiry is qualitative in nature and is completed through interview and observation. The interview was coded according to predetermined areas based on the sources studied. The results of this thesis contribute to a deeper understanding of the issue of families of children with severe multiple disabilities. Caring for a Girl with Rett Syndrome in the Family

The diploma thesis deals with the care of a girl with Rett syndrome (RTT) in the family. The six main chapters and individual subchapters present the issues of Rett syndrome, the family of a girl with RTT and area of care for a girl with RTT. The first chapter of the diploma thesis presents the fundamental issues related to Rett syndrome with an outline of the history, definition, causes and manifestations. The prevalence and incidence, diagnosis and manifestations of RTT are presented. The following subchapters are devoted to the individual stages of Rett syndrome, their course and the issue of RTT in boys. The second chapter focuses on the issue of the family caring for a child with a disability, presents a definition of the family and the stages of acceptance of a child with a disability. The following subchapters present the complex care for a child with a disability and present an overview of possible forms of support for families of children with disabilities. The third chapter deals with selected areas of care that parents of girls with RTT often have to provide. The individual subchapters include the following areas such as hygiene, sleep, diet, mobility, communication and health care. The role of a special educator in the process of balancing of a family with the birth of a child with serious disabilities.

The thesis deals with the process of balancing of a family with the birth of a child with serious disabilities. Concretely it deals the role of special educator in this process. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused to family and siblings of the child with serious disabilities and the strategies of coping of a difficult life situation, the so-called coping. It clarifies the issue of serious disabilities. It pays attention to the system of special education centers and their frequency shows an example of centers in South Bohemia. Concretely it concentrates on a special educator, their profile and system of education. The aim of investigative part of the thesis is to find out what role of special educator in process of balancing of a family with the birth of a child with serious disabilities is. To fulfill this aim interviews with mothers of the child with serious disabilities were carried out. During interviews emphasis was put on to ascertainment what they see the importance in the profession of special educator in and which way meetings with them were realized. The investigative part contains detailed description of the investigative aim and investigative question. In this part it is used the qualitative investigation by means of which the investigative aim is ascertained at five respondents. As a method of acquisition of data questioning was used particularly the technique of the nonstandard intimate interview. The outcome of the investigation points at the fact that particular meetings are very individual. It is possible be verify by comparing of gained data which present the fact that particular meetings are different for example in length, frequency, even in content. Families agree that importance of special educator they see they can consider them for support in process of coping with the given situation. Their help they regard as irreplaceable. The purpose of thesis is to points at relevancy of services provided by special educator. According to gained information it is possible preconceive that it is necessary to improve the system of foreknowledge about subsequent help. Possible means could be for example edification of special educator services, convenient interdepartmental cooperation at good level and increasing of special educator competence.
Business and motherhood in families with a child with a disability

Motherhood and performing a profession belong to nowadays women?s life. In both cases there can be some deviations. Regarding a professional career comes to a method of operating. This bachelor thesis deals just with entrepreneurship. The deviation in motherhood offers birth of a child with disabilities. Maternity receives unusual and different dimension in this case. The first chapter tries to define motherhood from the very nature of a woman as a mother. It mentions also current trends that affect motherhood. This chapter describes also the concept the mother of a child with disabilities, which includes what this specific motherhood entails. Professional specialization is a part of everyone life today, including women and women mothers. The second chapter analyzes the success of women in the labor market and also mothers who are interested in the job opportunities after maternity leave. Return does not always have to be an easy task for mothers or employers, who may adhere to prejudices. Job opportunities also provide business that fulfills the same function, but offers many additional risks as well as benefits. The chapter also mentions the benefits of working activities for mothers taking care of children with disabilities. Family and its functionality is an inseparable part of the education for children and woman's working activities. The third chapter gives definition of family and its functions and the overall running of a family system. But the family, in which appears a child with a disability, shows some differences from normal families. The constituent part of this chapter about family is a process description of coping with a child with disabilities. Acceptance of some differences is not easy. It's rather difficult critical situation and everyone must solve it on its own. But that is the specific sequence of certain stages followed by the adoption such a child. Last chapter provides a description of a child with disabilities. Each child is an individual. The individuality of children with disabilities is enhanced by the type and extent of disability. A time of disability can also become decisive; age in fact brings a number of specifics stemming from the age. Any child with a disability as well as all children has some mental equipment, which they usually receive from their parents. For children with disabilities is extremely important their surroundings. There are a lot of people who move around the child, members of the family are the most important and then come relatives. But this can be anyone who is in contact with the child. It means their attitude to disability, and also their attitude to a human overall. Based on the knowledge acquired in the theoretical part the best target to find out the conditions and connections of such mothers who this combination successfully in their life realize. The basic research question is established in accordance with the work order. Qualitative research with design case studies has provided the best possible answers to the research question. Semi-structured interviews with two women fulfilling necessary conditions are in-depth and provide piece of interesting information for the research. There are mentioned reports about respondents in the results. The reports are created from extensive interviews in which women described their motherhood with a child with disabilities, entrepreneurship and families. But the most important there were the connections which these facts have between themselves. The bachelor thesis has informative character with possible solutions of work activity in the case of a child with a disability in the family. It can inform the general public, especially those who are interested in this issue.
